Alana was eager to repeat the accomplishments of last year, and she knew that they'd need to bring a good team on the pitch again to do that. With her quidditch uniform on and her captain's badge attached to her collar, Alana finished putting her hair into a ponytail as she watched a group of Slytherins assemble before her. She smiled to her co-captain, Charlotte. She knew that the team would be in good hands next year. But, she still planned on leading them to victory this year. They were the reigning quidditch champions, and Alana had no plans on handing that championship off.

Her red eyes eventually turned to the others as she stood beside Charlotte. "My name is Alana Finch, and this is Charlotte Owens. We're the captains of the team" she stated, the pride in her voice quite apparent. "We are the reigning quidditch champions, so if you don't think you can play to that standard, please leave now." The teenager waited a second to see if anyone would leave. "Before you begin, I'll need your name and the position you intend to try out for. You are capable of trying out for more than one position. Once in the air, you will take your positions and get started until one of us calls time." Alana looked to Charlotte. "Do you have anything you'd like to add?" she asked as she kneeled down and opened the game chest, releasing the snitch and bludgers. When Charlotte had finished, Alana walked right up to the first person who declared they were trying out for Chaser and dropped the quaffle into their hands.

OOCOut of Character:
Although the team appears full, please note that players from the previous year are only guaranteed their spot as long as attendance is posted before try-outs are over. There is always the chance that someone won't have their character return. We are also always in need of alternates, and alternates do get playing time when possible. If you are changing positions, you do need to try out. Alternates will also need to try out again.

First years are required to PM a captain for approval before attempting to try out. Approvals will only happen if there is a need for more players.

Today was the day. Quidditch Tryouts were today. It had been one of the days she had looked forward to the most, but also something she found a tad scary. She could almost hear her mother's disapproval in her head, but she ignored it. Her mother wasn't here, and she wouldn't know. She made her way down to the pitch, feeling very young and small when she looked at some of the other students there. It didn't show, though, she had her shoulders back and her head held high, just the way she had been taught. When it was her turn, she stepped to the two captains and looked at them both. They were both beautiful and older and she felt a tad intimidated, even as she smiled confidently. "Odette Harper, trying out for Beater." She told them simply.

Odette mounted her broom and kicked off. Like always, flying made her feel amazing. She grinned, loving that she was back int he air. It was one of the only things she felt actually confident about, instead of pretending to be like she did with most other things. She flew a small circle around the pitch and scanned the field. She could see one bludger getting somewhat close and she flew at it eagerly, her club clutched in her hand. She hit it hard with her club, sending it off course and stopping it from hitting one of the people trying out for chaser. Eager to prove herself more, she went to chase another bludger, almost colliding with someone else in her haste. She grimaced, if they had seen that it would count against her, but she did manage to get near enough the second bludger to give it a solid hit. The feeling of hitting something with that much power and forcing it away was making her heart sing in delight. She went after the first one again and barely missed it. Not wanting to give up, she kept speeding after it until she could hit it a little awkwardly. It didn't have enough power to send it as far away as she wanted, but at least she had hit it. She wasn't sure if this was a good result or not, but she felt pleased with her attempt. She flew down to the ground and dismounted, her hair was messy and her face a bit sweaty, which her mother would hate, but she was grinning. "Thanks for giving me a chance." She told the two older girls, meaning every word.

Asaiah was still the beater of the Quidditch team of Slytherin, part of a winning Slytherin team nonetheless, and he did not have to fight his spot for it this time around. Asaiah got dressed and grabbed his broomstick and made his way to the pitch where other Slytherins gathered for their try-outs. He wondered who the new alternates would be and if Alana would give Rome her old position back if she were to try-out for it this year. Asaiah stood in the background as the captains spoke. He hoped that the try-outs weren't going to take long since he wanted to spend the rest of the day reading through his new textbooks.

Rome was not looking forward to this, since Alana f##king Finch had taken over, Rome had been shafted, shafted because of a role she had played in ensuring that Alana stayed loyal to who was supposed to be her husband. Rome had a feeling that because she had been supposedly an alternate, that she would have to re-tryout for the team, but Rome would have none of that, she had been an alternate for the first two years of her career as a quidditch player, having to try out every time, and she had finally managed to become a full member when Alana had decided that she was not to be. Rome was just about done with quidditch, she was just about done with Alana and her stupid little underling.

As soon as Rome arrived at the pitch, she knew this day wouldn't go her way and she was practically already seething with anger. So when she was informed that she needed to try out again, Rome shook her head, "Nope, no," She stormed forward, shoving past all those who were there to try out for the first time. Rome approached Alana and shoved her hard, "I am not trying out again, I have been a part of this team since my second year, I have had to re-tryout in every year apart from last year where you then chose to demote me from my position because of some stupid f##king annoyance you had with me," Rome shoved again her voice raised in anger, "Be a f##king leader, not some petty little child who lets her own feelings dictate the team," Rome was not happy with this at all, she didn't like Alana, she didn't like being shafted from the team she'd earned her position for, she would play for slytherin, she would put her feelings aside for qudditch, her anger was really surfacing, her hands were clenched by her side. She felt like hitting the silly captain, punching her square in the face, realising all her anger in a moment by hitting her, "F##k you Alana, f##k you and your sh1tty little co-captain,"

Charlotte was more than ready to co-captain the Slytherin Quidditch Team alongside Alana. She made sure her badge was worn proudly on her uniform before making her way onto the pitch. The fifth year was exceptionally excited to meet all of the second years willing to try out for their team. The Slytherin team did very well last year winning the house cup and she hoped that the new members would do be able to give them an even better chance of them winning it again. Charlotte listened as Alana began to speak, giving the group a small wave when her name was mentioned. When it was her turn to speak, Charlotte did so with the utmost confidence in her voice. "Everyone have fun trying out! There's no need to be nervous. If you're having trouble with something don't be afraid to ask for help." Charlotte smiled at them all, remembering her first time trying out for the team and feeling that they needed lots of encouragement for a good tryout whether they were good at the sport or not.

As the second years began to go up in the air, Charlotte watched them carefully in case they were to fall off their broom. They were much smaller than what Charlotte had last seen and she didn't want any of them getting hurt. But it turned out that the second years were not really anything to be worried about, especially when Cairo's sister shoved Alana, telling her off about having to try out again. Charlotte did nothing but stood and watched until she began calling her names. "Seriously!?" she exclaimed, not wanting her friend to be treated like this. "What do you think you're getting at? If you're so good at Quidditch you wouldn't be worried about trying out again, would you?" Charlotte had her hands on her hips, her voice authoritative. Alana did not deserve to be yelled at and Charlotte wasn't giving up until Rome came to her senses.

Alana should have known that something was going to happen when she spotted Rome come onto the pitch, but she hadn't been. As the new people began to head into the air for their tryouts to begin, Alana saw Rome approaching out of the corner of her eye, but it was far too late. The younger girl was a fair bit taller than Alana so sent the captain back a few inches with her shove. Alana could feel her cheeks flushing to match her eyes as she was shoved again, being yelled at by the younger girl. Embarrassment mixed with anger caused the captain's silence though that ended when Rome began cursing at her.

Before she could get a word in, Charlotte was coming to Alana's defense. New appreciation in her co-captain sparked within her, and Alana regained her confidence. She was the captain and head girl to boot. There was no way in hell she was going to be treated this way. She knew it wouldn't be a good look to get into a fight as head girl, but she also wasn't going to back down from this even if it meant that this would be the talk of the common room for the evening. "Screw you!" she yelled back. "I am a leader, a good f***ing one. We won a championship without you, so we obviously don't need you" she added, her red eyes staring the other girl down. She was tired of her, the dropped juice on her outfit and all of the other little things surfacing in her mind. "So, like Charlotte said, if you're so good there shouldn't be an issue. You're either going to get your ass out onto that pitch and tryout or you can leave" she added.

Rome groaned loudly when the younger captain, who was in Rome's year decided to make this entirely about talent, and Rome hadn't at all been getting at it, "You stay out of this," Rome told Charlotte. The slytherin's demotion hadn't been because she was bad at quidditch, Rome liked to think she was pretty good, but of course she got little chance to have her skills be tested because of the fact that she hadn't gotten the chance to play in games at all during the last year. The fact she hadn't been on the team was all because of the fact that Alana had been annoyed at her, and Rome had definitely acted in kind. Rome shook her head at charlotte and rather focused her attention upon Alana who decided to like the other girl make it about talent. Rome had plenty of talent, she was good because her anger got vented out in a more practical way.

"This was not about whether or not I was good enough to try-out again, and I'd bet you had no intention of putting me on the starting team even if I was the f##king best person to try-out today," Rome's anger had not abated, she could feel it mounting. This for Rome was never a good thing, "This was about you holding a grudge against me, and taking it out here because you held a position of authority. I was on the team, I was good, and you clearly hold no respect for someone who has put work into the team, who has paid their dues because of how you personally feel about them," Rome hated Alana with a passion, she hated that this silly girl was the centre of so much, she hated that this girl thought that she was better than others, that she'd messed around with others because of her anger towards her engagement. Rome wanted to hit her so bad, but that wouldn't win her argument, "This wasn't about talent because you were acting like a selfish brat who just wanted to get back at me for something that happened like years before, so no, f##k you,"

"You'll never know, now will you?" she replied quietly, a sickeningly sweet tone to her voice. The truth was that Rome was probably right. Unless it became a desperate situation, Alana planned on seeing Rome sit on the bench for the duration of this season as well. Alana didn't like the girl, plain and simple. Rome had chosen to involve herself in something that was absolutely none of her business, and Alana couldn't just let that go. She'd not only ruined a perfectly good dress, try as she might that juice stain would just not come out. No, she'd ruined moments in the Slytherin's life. They'd forever be tainted.

"That's such a lie! I do have respect for everyone on this team" she stated firmly, a silent but very present 'except for you' riding on the tail end of her sentence. "What are you still doing here?" she turned to the people who hadn't mounted their brooms and begun their tryouts. "Get in the air already!" she added, thoroughly annoyed now because this was disrupting tryouts. "I'm a selfish brat? No, you are. You're ruining tryouts, ruining our chances of putting a good team on the pitch because of your personal vendetta against me" she pointed as she spoke, rising onto her tiptoes to further accentuate her point. As usual, Rome was trying to ruin Alana's plans, this time her plan to put a good team in place so they could repeat as champions. When she'd finished, Alana turned to walk away. "What a b***h" she muttered under her breath as she began to head for her broom.

Ezra had been enjoying watching the chaos unfold between Alana and Rome. The two hadn't got along for as long as he had been at the school and it was only going to get worse after the incident at the Halloween feast. Eventually watching Rome hash the same argument got boring so Ezra mounted his broom and decided to take a few laps, even took a few shots at some of the young idiots trying out for keeper. Once he returned to the ground, he caught the back end of Alana yelling at some players to get in the air and he chuckled as he settled in to watch the conclusion of their argument.

This frustrated Rome to no end, she wasn't happy about this at all, she hated Alana with a passion, she hated Charlotte with a passion and she was going to be making sure this girl didn't have any more contact with her twin brother. This was done. She shook her head at Alan, she was brimming with anger, she was seething with rage, she was trying her hardest to not punch this girl in the face, either or girl. This was just the worst, even though she loved quidditch there was no way that she would play for either girl, there was no way she'd subject herself to that. This was over. It would be fine, she would've walked away just annoyed, angry, but then she heard what Alana said about her, and that was it, she went to grab the girl by the shoulder and then went to punch her right in the face, holding none of her anger back as she went in for it.

Rory arrived at the pitch, once again ready to try out, he wanted to do well enough this time to make the team but he didn't really think he'd manage it. The boy thought he should get on the team just because of his blood and the fact he was just default better than everyone else. he watched with disinterest of the argument between one of the players and one of the captains. He just waited until it was over and he could actually try out. He stepped forward, "Rory Fergusson, fae chaser, or beater if ye needed one," the boy told the captains before he grabbed his broom and shot up into the air. Rory didn't care about what they were arguing about, and he was just happier to get started. The boy grabbed one of the quaffles as it was passed out. He flew forwards towards the goals, Rory was a bit of a selfish player, he kept a hold of the quaffle opting to just fly forward to score rather than spending any time passing to other players, he wanted the glory for himself.

The first time he tried to score he missed, but this didn't dampen the scottish boy's spirits. The boy was undeterred by that fact, rather he was just happy to spend the time flying and playing quidditch. He did like the sport a lot, and so this time tried a little more, he pushed forward, catching the ball as it was caught by someone else, Rory took the quaffle as it was passed to him. The boy spent a little more time this time passing the ball and eventually by the end he managed to score. In fact by the end of the try-outs Rory had managed to score a couple more times. He had enjoyed the try-outs despite how they had started out. Rory wanted to be on the team because he had sort of been on it before and he wanted to actually play this year, he wanted to be a good, active player. Give himself something to do each day rather than just class and annoying Flavio. Rory was hopeful of his chances and well, if he didn't even get on the team then clearly they didn't like purebloods or know that those were the better people.

Kimmyeon had been having a pleasant, quite day, and she had been looking forward to the Slytherin tryouts that morning. Content as spending the majority of her time on her own, she found Quidditch to be one of the only moments she felt comfortable to open up and be part of a team. She smiled to her teammates when they met up on the field, and Kimmy made her way to the pitch to reconfirmed her place on the team as a Chaser. She loved to fly, it made her feel so free. As she touched back down on the ground, raised voices were heard. Turning her head towards the commotion, she saw her co-captains engaged with a former member of the team. Not one to often get involved, Kimmy lurked around Ezra as they watched on, the drama unfolding loudly beside them.

Just as it appeared that the argument was dying down, Alana and Charlotte were turned away from the other Slytherin, when Kimmy eye's closely observed Rome's outstretched arm, reaching for her Captain. Before anyone could tell Kimmy not to, her broom landed on the grass at her feet, and the fifth year found herself storming across the few steps it took to reach the trio. Never before had she encounted someone who wanted to cause such violence, and her heart was beating fast at the idea of Rome damaging the only thing that Kimmy had come to care about. Without even the time to warn her, Kimmy flung her full weight into the opposition, flinching in pain as they hit the solid ground together. "How dare you" Kimmy found her saying, almost shouting, at the Slytherin. "If you have a problem, now is not the time nor place" she added, before lifting her head up to see if she'd managed to save anyone from a battering.

Slytherin try-outs were the most interesting to watch. The same could be said for their matches. They were brutes. Dumb, lumbering and aggressive, but it made for great entertainment. Some years, it was quiet, but everyone so often they seemed to snap, and it was these times that Asher loved to see. The Hufflepuf boy wasn't a Quidditch participant, preferring to spectate rather than spend time in the air. There was no way he'd want to face up against Slytherins during a match.

Sitting on the sidelines of the pitch, Asher watched with amusement as an argument broke out between its members, involving the Head Girl, no less. Tsk. Typical snakes. They were making an embarrassment of themselves, but it was riveting to watch. The only thing missing was a bag of popcorn. "Fight! Fight!" He howled from the sides. The student paper would have a field day if they'd known about this.

Rome told Charlotte to stay out of it but Charlotte was never going to listen to her. It was as much of Charlotte's business as Alana's, even if it was Alana's initial idea to make her an alternate last year. Charlotte watched as Alana began to walk away and head for her broom, but just as Charlotte thought this was all going to be over, Rome had retaliated yet again and went to punch Alana in the face. A fellow fifth year and chaser, Kimmyeon, stepped in and took Alana's side. Nothing was making anything better, and to make matters worse, Charlotte could hear chanting from the stands and decided she couldn't handle it any longer. "That's enough!" she exclaimed, taking initiative and standing between them both. "Rome, if you don't want to be on the team this year then leave. I would prefer if you stayed as far away from this team as possible from now on anyway." She tried to speak calmly, despite how infuriating it was to have to be dealing with something so silly.

Never even having the opportunity to reach down for her broom, Alana felt herself being turned forcefully and her hands immediately went up. The grip on her arm didn't remain though she did stumble forward, seeing Rome and Kimmyeon on the ground. Her red eyes widened then narrowed. Rome had been about to attack her! A stream of curses crossed her mind and some crossed her lips, directed at the girl on the ground.

She quieted as Charlotte stepped between them, the voice of reason today. Hearing her words, Alana turned swiftly and headed for her broom. Things would go better if she removed herself from the picture. She was embarrassed that this had happened in front of the team and in front of some people who wouldn't even make it. She was angry that Rome had somehow decided to make Alana her target, choosing to ruin any moment when she seemed to be happy. Alana knew she'd have to apologize to the team, and that annoyed her as well. She hated apologizing. Stepping onto her broom, Alana kicked off, moving into the air and just doing laps to cool off.

The moment she had been about to punch Alana, Rome was tackled to the ground by one of the other girls from the team, this didn't stop her anger about it, this only fuelled it more. The girl shoved her hard, shoving her off her and stood up practically growling at them all, it seemed like Alana was done, and so was Rome, well, here and now she was done, but they would know her anger, they would know it. She brushed herself off, "You'll regret that," the girl said with a sharp tone to the one who had tackled her to the ground and looked to the other girl Charlotte, "As will you, I can promise you that Charlotte" Rome couldn't stand this. She would have less time to make Alana's life miserable, but she could make Charlotte's life a little worse as well as this silly other girl who'd shoved her to the floor. It was then that Rome took her leave from the pitch, deciding on a plan of action for how to make herself an annoying thorn in these people's sides. She wasn't going to let this go, oh no. She would make this awful for them. And really, Rome hoped they all failed, that the team failed.

Lestat Styx was a little late to the try outs, but once he arrived, he stood back and watched the chaos happen, no pun intended. Girls fighting was always an attractive thing to watch. He leaned on his broom, just watching and smirking. This was amazing. The seeker looked around before seeing some other girl, a chaser, just tackle Rome. Lestat didn't know what happened between the two, but allowing it spill over into Quidditch is ridiculous. After Rome stormed off, Lestat mounted his broom and soared up to get some laps in. The least he could do after watching that performance.

OOCOut of Character:
Tryouts will be closing soon. If you're interested in trying out, post now!

Diane had missed playing quidditch ever since she stopped and finally felt ready to try out again, only this time she would do so as keeper. Alana was in her final year so it was a position that would soon be available, a year as her alternate could only help her chances. After dusting off her broom she made her way down to the pitch to try out. Diane changed into practice robes and stepped out onto the pitch. Shortly after she arrived chaos ensued but she ignored it. Whatever beef Rome had with Alana had nothing to do with her and she wanted to keep it that way.

"Diane Winters, trying out for keeper," She said not sure if either captain was listening. Diane rolled her eyes and flew up to the hoops where she took her position. One by one chasers came at her trying to take shots. A total of ten quaffles came flying at her during her tryout. She saved nine, which amazed even her. The trickiest save had been a simple nudge with her fingertips to force it jusst passed the hoop and semt the quaffle plummeting to the ground. She felt bad for the trialist chaser who sent her a shot so easy she didn't have to move and simply caught it, though that didn't stop her laughing.

The fighting was still going on when she got to the ground so she cleared her throat. "I do hope someone saw that," She said turning her attention to the younger captain.
