Y28 Dueling Match #18

[Professor Misha Haden]

Professor Misha Haden led the two contestants to the stage, appointing them into the north or south part of the stage respectively. He told them both the rules as well as the point system before walking off the stage to just watch from a good distance. He was sure this would be a good clean game, but he was ready to step in if he was needed to.​

All right, make sure that you use the spell list for guidance. No board rule breaking is acceptable. Have fun! I have a copy of the code that you should use with every post. Remember, when you are knocked out, unable to shoot anymore spells, you lost. And if you run out of points, you lose.
The duel begins now. If someone doesn't post after 24 hours, they are disqualified.

Xena was stoked that she had made it to the next round. She followed the Professor onto the stage, and took her place, bowing to her opponent. Without a second breath, Xena drew her wand and shot a spell to the boy opposite her. "Expelliarmus!"

Now that Tristan had won his first match, he sort of wanted to win this whole thing. What better way to show those pureblood jerks that he was just as good as them than to win this tournament? He didn't know his opponent, but he hoped she wasn't very good. He blocked her disarming spell and smirked. He could do better than this. "Locomotor Mortis!" He shouted, sending a spell back.

Xena frowned, though she didn't know why she didn't expect the boy to block the spell. It was early in the match,
and she had to tire him out. Learning from her previous match, and watching others, Xena blocked the spell, rather than try to dodge it. "Tarantallegra!"

Tristan wasn't surprised when the girl blocked his spell, but her spell back at him came faster than he expected. To his horror, it hit him, and before he knew it his legs were dancing uncontrollably. He gripped his wand tightly, scared to drop it. He felt his face heat up, he knew he looked ridiculous and he hated the idea of people watching him like this. "Finite." He hissed. Then, with venom in his voice he shot a spell at her. "Petrificus Totalus!"

Xena grinned and took a moment to enjoy the affects of her spell, as the boy's legs began to dance. It seemed to have rubbed him the wrong way, as the spell that he shot at her after getting rid of her one had a lot of force, and a brief thought fluttered through her mind, wondering if it was because she had embarrassed him, but there wasn't much chance to ponder, as she threw up another Protego shield, though still feeling the force behind her opponent's spell. Frowning, Xena focused on her next spell. "Expelliarmus!"

Tristan was starting to dislike this girl purely from wanting to beat her so badly. Why was she blocking his spells? He knew logically that she might just be better than him, but he wanted to be the best. She had humiliated him, and he was going to do so right back at her. He protected himself from her disarming spell, before sending another spell in her direction. "Locomotor Mortis."

Xena's frown turned to shock as she was hit with a spell she did not see coming. Her legs locked together, and she wobbled, trying to keep herself upright before falling over. She hit her head hard on the ground, but she could be sore later; she had to get back up before he shot another spell at her. Thankfully still clutching her wand, Xena undid the spell on her legs, and shot "Stupefy!" from the ground, before pushing herself back up to standing, rubbing the tender spot on her head.

Tristan was really pleased with the result of his spell. He grinned when she wobbled and fell over. A part of him wondered if she was hurt, but he didn't linger on it too long. He waited for her to get to her feet and send a spell back, but she did something unexpected. His eyes only had time to widen a fraction before the spell hit him in the chest. He dropped his wand before crumpling to the ground, unconscious.
