Things in this year had gotten off to a pretty good start if Graeme was being honest about it. He as feeling good, even just better about how everything had been going recently, and after seeing Maya during the holidays he had finally plucked up the courage to ask her out, and to the Yuleball, it was very in advance, but it had been in the moment, and Graeme had just had buckets of courage. The teen was therefore feeling pretty good about just about everything, when the quidditch try-outs finally rolled around. He was feeling pretty good about the way the team had shaped up in the last semester, they weren't the worst but they hadn't won, and Graeme was a little desperate for a victory as he was sure were the other quidditch captains on the other teams. He was beginning to think that at the end of this all, when they had all graduated, since he'd worked out they would all graduate at once, that they should all go to drinks and just celebrate not facing one another again, until the professional level if any of them decided to go to that level.

Stepping out on to the field, the teen just looked around, he had brooms under his arm, and he clipboard underneath the other and made his way to the centre of the pitch. He then got the various other bits of equipment and then placed it out in front of him, he didn't need too wait too long after until all of the people had arrived. When it was just after the time to begin, he cleared his throat loudly so that he get the attention of the crowd, "Good morning guys, I'm Graeme, I'm Hufflepuff team captain and I'd like to welcome all of you to this quidditch try-out," The teen welcomed them all, "Any questions should be directed tae me. Remember tae have fun, and the best of luck to all of you. I'm sure together we can help build a great team tae take hame the cup! Just step up tell me your name and what position you are trying out for, returning members just get up into the air and get some practice" Graeme told them, essentially calling the try-outs into session.

Charlotte arrived on the Quidditch pitched, geared up in some old clothes and ready to see the new recruits try out for the Quidditch team and lend a helping hand where she could. She hoped this would be a good year Hufflepuff and for herself. She'd played a fair few games now by this point and she'd yet to score many goals for the team. She hated letting her team down but she was doing the best she could and that was really could ask of her. She waited with the rest of the team as she watched the new people try out, they weren't too bad but they would no doubt get better with practice.

Helping out where needed she felt good to be up in the air again and playing the game she loved so much. Sure she had played with Peter when she could during the holidays but he was becoming a major Quidditch Player now and was getting more and more in demand to play that it wasn't always possible to get to play with him. Charlotte was proud of her brother so she didn't mind so much but at times she still just wanted her older brother. When tryouts were over Charlotte grabbed her broom and made her way back to the castle looking forward to getting this year underway.

Chaos Zhefarovich was suddenly looking forward to the new year because of one thing: Quidditch. It was the most violent of sports, and he could hit people with bludgers, as many times as he wanted. Perhaps not his own team, but still. He had a lot of fun with it, and he looked forward to doing so again. That is, if he was not kicked off the team. Shaking his head, he walked down to the pitch, only to see one of the returning members and the co-captain. He did not smile, smirk or even look anything but serious as he stared with his cold, purple eyes. After so long, he listened to the words of the captain, before he mounted his broom and took off into the air with his beater’s bat. He searched for some bludgers to hit but he had to keep reminding himself of one thing. He could not hit his team members. And boy, he had to remind himself frequently because of the temptation that it brought him.

Mason Greene skipped his way down to the pitch, with his broom in hand. He could not wait until he was going to play some Quidditch games! Maybe this time, he would actually score once or twice. It was a hope that he had within his mind. He had yet to score since he joined the team last year, but that was because their seeker ended the games too soon! Mason shrugged his shoulders as he remembered that, since he was not fussing at all. He managed to arrive to the pitch, before he greeted, “Hi Graeme! Hi Charlotte! Such a great day for Quidd-oof!” Mason managed to trip and fall flat on his face. Scrambling up, he muttered, “I’m okay.” Mason dusted himself off. Once Graeme told everyone what to do, he took up to the sky to help those practice for wanting to be chaser, and also, to get some practice in himself.

Lydia Archer had been really happy when she had spotted her younger cousin being sorted, of course she had been rooting for the girl to be with her in Hufflepuff, but alas that was not what occurred. The girl was walking towards the pitch, today was an important day, it was the first practice of the year, and also the try-outs, she was really holding out for more people to join the team, the more the merrier she always said. The brunette had her broom underneath her arm and was walking on to the pitch, watching from a distance as Mason, she was sure his name was tripped up. She held back a small laugh before greeting them all. She liked all her teammates, Chaos freaked her out, but aside from him everything was just perfect! No issues whatsoever, she smiled at the captain, "Morning!" she greeted them before the rest of the people arrived and when instructed to, got on her broom and shot up into the air.

Wearing a Hufflepuff Quidditch T-Shirt and a paper mache Badger head, Link still flying on one of the school brooms flew onto the Quidditch Pitch where the Hufflepuff's were holding their tryouts. In his hand was his trusty Beater Bat, he'd left his Bludger with the rest of his things back in the Gryffindor Commonroom. Link had already tried out for the Gryffindor team but figured it couldn't hurt his chances to tryout for another House' Quidditch Team.

"Go Hufflepuffs!" Link called out as he landed on the ground and faced the group. "Today is your lucky day! Link Potter son of Holyhead Harpies Chaser and Chudley Cannon's Seeker is going to try out for the Hufflepuff Quidditch Team" Link said with as much confidence as possible. He knew he was laying it on thick but figured he needed too since he was technically not in Hufflepuff House.

"I know what your thinking, why the heck would someone like Link want to try out for the Hufflepuff Quidditch Team; well I was always taught that all Houses are equal!" Link said while thinking to himself 'except for the slimy Slytherin House'. He removed the badger head and held up his bat, "What do you say we break some barriers together and show real school spirit by letting me joining your team! RAWR!" Link said with enthusiasm before admitting that he had know idea what a Badger sounds like.

Victoria was looking forward to her second season playing Quidditch. She had really settled in the previous year and was glad that she wouldn't have to try out again. The young Hufflepuff made her way down to the Quidditch pitch with her broom in one hand and her club in the other and ducked into the stadium. "Hey guys," She said as she met up with her team mates. As everyone started to turn up for the try out Victoria was quite amused to see that a Gryffindor first year had turned up and was hoping to try out, she hadn't been at the school very long but she suspected that it was the first time such a thing had happened.

Alexander Carter had always been interested by Quidditch, the entire prospect of it was both interesting and fun! As soon as he had heard that there was house Quidditch teams AND tryouts, he had grabbed his broom and ran over to the Quidditch Pitch. He brought his Amethyst Streak along with him and smiled at everyone as he reached the pitch. "Hey everyone! Alexander Carter here to try out for Seeker." He did a sort of salute kind of thing, and mounted his broom as they released a snitch for him. He flew around the pitch, zigzagging around the place as he tried his best to catch it, and after a few close calls, he was able to catch it!

He landed his broom on the floor and smiled at them all, a huge grin on his face! "Guys, I did it! Yay!" He said, absolutely beaming that he was able to catch the Snitch. He was super duper happy that he was able to do it. He had played a lot of Quidditch while his parents weren't around, so he had a good idea of what he was supposed to do and how he was supposed to do it. It was like second nature to him at this point, he just needed to get practice in a team environment and that could take a while. When tryouts were over, he left, and headed back to the castle.

Scarlet Joussane was running towards the Quidditch Pitch. She hated being late and she was close to it if she didn't hurry up. She was honestly thankful that the Hufflepuff Common Room was on the fourth floor instead of an even higher floor else she would never make it. And so, dressed on her Quidditch robes and her broom held tightly on her hand, she ran as fast as she could, barely making it before Graeme had begun with his announcements. Well, at the very least she was a little on time so she was thankful. Although it was quite obvious that she was flushed and out of breath. She really did need a lot more practice with running if anyone asked.

The silent Puff listened carefully for the older boy's instructions to the team and Scarlet could only nod in approval. Seemed fair to her. At the very least, she only had to help a couple of people, mostly the seekers since she was pretty much useless in other positions. Maybe she'd make a fair keeper, but she was definitely better at seeking. She was about to mount her broom when all of a sudden, a Gryffindor first year had barged into their try-outs. Scarlet stared at him incredulously. He must be crazy. With a shrug, the Hufflepuff ignored him and flew to the air.She had better things to do than watch a crazy boy.

The fact that Arnost Zhefarovich the Second was a first year, he still managed to get the captain to let him try out. He was only doing this for Fiona. With a decent school broom within his hand, he walked down to the pitch. He was tall enough to be mistaken for a second or third year. He noticed Chaos there though, which Arnost made special notes to stay away from. He walked up to the captain and announced with a smile on his face, "Arnost Zhefarovich, trying out for beater." His smile faded when a Gryffindor decided to bust in, but he shrugged it off. He was going to try out, and maybe make the alternate beater. Chaos was really good, but Arnost did not want to replace him.

As he listened to the instructions, Arnost took to the skies with his beater's bat. This was only the second time he had flown a broom, but so far, he was doing amazingly with it. He searched for something to hit, and it would not take him long to find a bludger that was targeting someone. Arnost smacked it away with impressive force. He continued to do that until the try outs were over, successfully protect all that he could from the bludgers. He landed, hoping that he did well enough to survive the try outs. He looked toward Graeme and smiled, before he left he pitch, hoping he got in.
