Lowan didn't know what had happened. he had recieved a letter by owl over the holidays just like everyone had informing on school equipment and book lists needed for the comeing year but unlike his brothers he had an extra piece of paper in his saying that he had been nominated as quidditch cptain for his house. that was a bit of a surprise. he had been captain of his AFL team but that was different some how. una had spent quite a while the rest of the break teasing him. he let her of course he knew it was mainly because that was just how she loved, and she was probably jealous at how accepted he was when she hadn't been at all.
this morning he had organised the trials and was up bright and early in order to get a good hot breakfast before heading to the pitch to make sure that he was the first one there. in front of him he had the chest with the balls in by the stands and in his hand was a notepad on a clipboard. soon people were on the pitch and he stepped forward raising his voice slightly. "Alright everyone. welcome to gryffindor quidditch trials." he began. before you begin i want you to tell me your name and what position you are trying out for. then i would like you to fly a lap of the pitch. those trying for beater cary a bat, those trying for chaser carry a ball" he said pointing at a bag of soccer balls he had 'borrowed' from muggle sports club. pausing as some people mumbled in understanding. "once everyone is back i will blow the whistle and then just go and practice for your position, no teams. chasers you should aim to get at least three shots at goal, and beaters you have to stop anyone getting hit. seekers there are five snitches looking to be found. and keepers you can alternate." he said wondering if there was anything else to say. "oh and if you played on the team last year you need only do the lap flight. and your place is saved. if you were alternative you will still need to try out. 's everyone ready?" he said ready for the tryout to begin.

If you were on the team last year, you must post your arrival and a lap and you will be guaranteed your spot. those who were on the team past year but didn't play and new people have to try out.
if you want to try out for a different roll than the one you are already on the team in. you don't need to re try-out just say so and i will see what i can do.
i would like to have everyone play at least one match over the course of the year.

First years, you can PM me to approve before posting here. If I say no, you can defend your request. Below is the team, and the available positions.

The newly single Matt Greene made his way down to the Quidditch pitch. He had an idea of what he wanted to do, which was to play Quidditch for the team. He just hoped that with Belladonna down there, things may not be awkward between them. He thought that this was the best since he noticed the stares of one Slytheirn upon her, and how she looked at him. She might not even realize it yet, but Matt could. Then there was the added fact that he was gaining a crush on a certain Ravenclaw girl. And then, there was another problem. His father was released from Azkaban a couple of years ago, and he met up with his younger sister, Madison. Poor girl had a crush on someone, who moved schools for some reason after his dad found out. Matt did not know the full details, but he would have to look into it when he had the time. Throwing a broom over his shoulder, he continued to walk toward the pitch with his hair threatening to go in front of his eyes due to the small gusts of wind. No, he would not let that happen. He needed to ensure that he was in top form for this try out.

Matt strolled up to the boy he presumed to be the captain, "Matt Greene, and trying out for either beater or seeker." He did not mind which one, but now he had to try out for two spots. Now, for the single lap with his new broom he saved up three years worth of allowances for. He swung his leg over his scarlet streak, and he soared off the ground. He did his lap in impressive speed. Now that that part was done, he had to search for a couple of snitches. His eyes peeled around until he finally found two, but very much apart. He soared after one, and it took him a couple of moments to catch it, only to lose sight of the other one. After a few minutes, he managed to catch two of the snitches before he released them back into the sky for the other possible seekers. Now, he picked up a bat. While the chasers were at it, Matt flew around, and he whacked a couple of bludgers away from them. He was good at being a beater but his arms really protested against him. He sighed and landed once try outs were over. He thought he did well. He smiled toward his peers before he left the pitch.

Practicing over the vacation had not been a priority in Jean’s life. It was bad, he knew it. So, he headed down to the pitch, his broom in hand, very reluctantly. Entering the pitch, Jean was surprised though not displeased to see that Lowan had been named the new captain. He didn’t know Lowan particularly well, but he played well and that was good enough for Jean. He knew that Tybalt wouldn’t have just let anyone take over the team, so his former captain’s endorsement went a long way in his mind. Standing with his broom in front of him, hands on the handle, Jean listened as their new captain went over the instructions. When he finished, Jean found himself nodding along with everyone else. He waited his turn before announcing in his French accent, “Jean Snow. Hoping to keep my Chaser position.” With a smile, Jean grabbed a quaffle and quickly took the sky. He hadn’t mentioned Seeker at all, hoping that Lowan had forgotten that he’d played two games in that position. Jean had found that he wasn’t half bad as a Seeker, but he didn’t like the position. Not at all. There was just way too much pressure.

Tucking the quaffle under his arms, Jean eyed the goal in the distance. He leaned forward on his broom and zoomed past a student who was trying out for the first time. Making a quick lap around the pitch, the Gryffindor slowed just enough to move the quaffle to his hands before launching it as hard as he could towards the hoops. With a fist pump, Jean acknowledged that it had gone in. Even though he was only required to do a lap, Jean moved towards a teammate and spent the rest of the tryout practicing some flying techniques. As he suspected, he was a bit rusty, though he felt himself easily getting back into the groove of things.

Frustrated didn't go far enough to describe Skye's feelings regarding her Quidditch career, she had consistently made the team in every year she tried out, but only ever as an alternate and now a she entered her fifth year it was finally beginning to bug her. All her goals coming into Hogwarts looked to be slipping away from her. With her yet to be a starter in her time with the Gryffindor team, her dream of making Quidditch captain looked now to be a a hopeless dream. This however did not damage her ambition to tryout for the team once again at the start of the new academic year. Breaking from her routine Skye ate breakfast with her housemates on the morning of the tryouts, she listened as they exchanged stories of their holidays, things that happened at home, things they bought at the harbour, the usual start of term topics. Skye wasn't interested, she just wanted to focus on what the morning had instore for her.

Skye was one of the first people to try out, she stood forward to announce herself to the captain whom she already knew, "Skye Taylor, trying out for chaser," she said before grabbing a quaffle and taking to the air. She had five shots to make her case, this was something she had done several times. As she had always been an alternate she never started the new season with a guaranteed place and that always bothered her. She did her best to psych out the keeper before she made her move, flipping the quaffle in her hand as she took a breath and waited for the go ahead to begin. Skye leaned forward on her broom and shot towards the hoops, quaffle in hand she leaned to the left losing sight of the keeper and throwing the quaffle out of her hand, it dinked off the edge of the hoop and rolled in. For her second shot Skye decided to fly up as close to the keeper as she dare before rolling away and dropping the quaffle into the closest hoop to her, the bottom right hoop. Buzzing with confidence Skye stepped up for her third shot, she kept it simple approaching the hoops from a slight angle and hurtling the quaffle to an exposed hoop, that time the keeper saw it coming and took it comfortably in his hands. Skye was disappointed to miss a shot but she made up for it by scoring her remaining two to finish her tryout with a good record. She came back down to the ground confident she woiuld be spending the season as an alternate chaser, at the very least. Skye handed a quaffle off to another hopeful and rejoined the group.

Archie had spent a lot of his time practicing over the holidays and knowing how much effort he exerted while he was away had given him some much needed confidence as he strolled down to the pitch for this year's try outs. With his broom in one hand, he waved to the remaining members of his team with the other and managed a wide smile paired with a nod at the hopeful new Gryffindors that may very well be new members of the team by the end of today. He listened closely to the captain as he spoke and after the signal was given to begin, Archie waited his turn before mounting his broom and kicking off into the sky.

He didn't immediately fly towards the hoops or make a lap around the pitch, and instead intercepted a few of the chaser's passes with a playful grin so he could get in the right head space before he finally decided to be serious and do what the captain had asked. He flew once around the edge of the pitch and caught a shot when he passed one of the hoops before throwing the quaffle back in straight after. When he was finished his lap he chose to stay in the air for the remainder of the try outs in case any potential keepers needed a hand or any of the chasers needed someone to block the hoops as they attempted to throw a successful shot.

Caroline Beckett entered the pitch for her final year of Quidditch tryouts. She couldn't believe that she was already in her seventh year. Time had gone by too quickly. The blonde smiled at the familiar faces as she sat down in the grass to watch.

Ailsa was ready for this. She had been practicing more and more over the holidays and was incredibly keen to get up into the air and just get started. She practiced close to every day and was really driving her body. All she needed to do was actually get on the team and manage to get herself out of being an alternative. She had her broom in hand as she headed towards the pitch. The girl had been practicing incredibly hard. She knew that she could make the team and was certain she was good enough for her. The holiday itself had been pretty good fun. Next year her little sister would be coming to the school, and she was pretty happy about that. She was feeling pretty good about this term. She had done some work over the break on her playing as well as on her studies and was really looking forward to having a real go at education and trying to make herself do well in her studies and not just in quidditch. That and she was just pleased to be in third year and have more choice over the classes that she was able to do. Stepping out on to the pitch she made her way over to Archie. it was a little frustrating that he was already on the team and she was not, but they'd somehow come to an agreement. They were friends. Something had happened in the previous term and all their pettiness had been left mostly aside. They were still competitive but it was no longer as critical. She smiled at him, and smiled at the new captain. Finally it was time to get started she watched as her friend flew off, and then stood forward.

"Ailsa Evans, beater, but I can make a fair chaser" she said with a smile. Her cousin had left hogwarts with words of wisdom about quidditch and being a beater which Ailsa had easily taken on board. With that Ailsa got up on the broom and shooting up into the air. A smile plastered on her face. She was happy, that much was clear. Her flying since the last year had greatly improved. She took a few moments to get her bearings and then allowed herself a moment to just get ready. There was no point rushing into anything, this was important she had to well and really at the end of the day this was just a game. Happily however, when she was ready, Ailsa shot off, grabbing one of the beater bats and flying with the other chasers who were flying towards the goals. She watched a bludger hurtle its way towards them, she broke away from them and then just flew towards it, swinging the bat and launching it in the other direction. With that Ailsa smiled and continued focusing on the rest of the try-out. Feeling pretty pleased about how things were going. She hit a few more bludgers, careful to not hit anyone too badly. Ailsa had very clearly improved and was keen to get started on the team. By the time the end of the try-out came, Ailsa was worn out and tired, but she felt fantastic. She flew back down to the ground and stopped a little further away from others. Heading towards the rest of them, she waited to hear how she'd done. Even if she didn't get on the team, she was still happy with how she'd played.

Lowan watched as the few members of the house who appeared tried out. there seemed to be just enough for a team but he hoped that more would turn up. "doing good guys" he called as he watched them play. he looked across to where one girl was sitting watching. he knew caroline was on the team from before but she hadn't said anything and it was her last year so it was fair if she needed to focus on school work, though he hoped she still was up to play. otherwise it would look like he would be a chaser down. "Caroline, are you trying out this year?" he asked. before looking back to the sky to watch everyone else.

OOCOut of Character:
Come on guys. we have somehow managed to get an exact team try out. but i don't want to have to reply on everyone for every match. after all i know i have to miss a couple. for that reason. we need more people. even people already on the team need to post attendance and a lap to be guaranteed a spot or at least pm me to say they are too busy to post.
also i will be looking for a co-captain so try and impress

Gajeel walked towards the Quidditch Pitch with his broom in his hand. He had been on the Gryffindor team since the start of his schooling and right now he was once again trying out for the team as a chaser. Well, he supposed it would be fun since it's Quidditch. He doesn't really have much trouble with it after all. And so, when the try-outs started and the new Quidditch captain had announced what needed to be done, Gajeel prepared himself for what he had to accomplish. He wasn't exactly trying to impress or anything, he really just wanted to be on the team and eventually become a starter instead of a bench player, but most of the time it couldn't be helped anyways. "Gajeel Cheney, trying out for chaser," he said with a shrug as he waited for the signal of the try-outs to start. Thankfully that didn't take all too long to happen.

As soon as the signal was given, Gajeel quickly grabbed a quaffle, mounted his broom and kicked off from the ground hard. He was quite determined to not be kicked out of the team after all, so he had to work his very best to remain on the team, or at least as close as his best could anyway. Tucking the quaffle under his left arm and keeping his grip on the broom tight with his right, he quickly maneuvered himself through the various people that was standing, or rather flying, in his way. He was having quite the fun though with the adrenaline pumping through his veins. Leaning down on his broom, he sped up towards the scoring hoops and had seen one of the keepers blocking his way, though he had easily noticed that the guy was more inclined to his right than to the left. Gajeel smirked at the chance he had and with a quick changeover with his left hand now gripping the broom and his right hand holding the quaffle, he swung hard and threw the quaffle right through the rightmost hoop, catching the keeper by surprise. The tryouts continued on for a while with Gajeel getting some shots in and others getting blocked. Still, despite the results, he had fun and he was looking forward to another year of playing the sport.

Belladonna could scarcely believe she was a fifth year already, it felt like just yesterday that she was only just having the sorting hat placed upon her tiny head. On top of that she was a prefect. Professor Kingsley must have a lot more faith in Belladonna than she did herself, because getting this position was entirely a surprise. The honey blonde thought to herself with a snort. While she traveled around with her dad during his Quidditch season, she attempted to study the Chasers and how they handled the game. Problem was, they were so much quicker than she was yet handled themselves perfectly. Perhaps Belladonna needed to work on her speed? Her clumsiness was still pretty bad too. Belladonna wanted to beat Slytherin, mostly so she didn't have to listen to Vladimir conveniently mention how well his team did while she was around. That arrogant bastard was getting on the last of her nerves. Broomstick in hand, Belladonna arrived onto the Quidditch pitch. Hopefully they brought in some new recruits this year, was their captains last year and they were going to need some strong players to replace him with when he did go. "Hey guys. Sorry I'm late." Belladonna greeted softly as she approached her teammates. Hopefully she did well enough last year to remain as a Chaser this year. She had practiced some over the summer, and she figured the only thing she could do was improve from here on out, or not.

Lowan watched as a few more people turned up and went to try out. He nodded as they tried out and wrote on his pad a team. although he seemed to have a team part of him wished that he had a couple less chasers and one or two more beaters, keepers or seekers. but he would have to make do. maybe he could train a couple more up. once he has a plan he was not 100% happy with it but unfortunately he couldn't have more than three chasers on the team at the same time. but he would try and rotate the team around so everyone would get at least one game. he also thought that there may be a few more people turning up but if they did they could be added to the team as alternates. but for now he was quite happy as they stood. until he had a brainwave and crossed his list off and started again. "Okay guys" he called. gesturing for them to come down. once everyone was settled on two feet he continued you have all done a great job today. well done. I have got a draft of the team, I am not going to name anyone as an alternate as you are all just as important to the team, and i would like to have everyone play in at least one game. but chasers be warned i may ask you to play a different position as there are far more than you than any other position. but I will be sticking around just in case anyone else shows up. you are free to leave if you want to. or you can continue practicing if you would rather. our first training is 6pm on monday" he said. it may unconventional, and far more diplomatic than her ever was usually but he has learned a good while ago as soon as on an football team you called someone the substitute they often took that to mean not as impotent member. or don't need to train as hard and wanted his team to be the best in the school aster last years shoddy performance.

If you still want to try out go ahead and post. if you contacted me with a first year go and post, but first years will be alternatives. (kind of like they are there more to train for next year than to compete, but you may still get a chance to do so) and i am still deciding on the co-captain. but i will let you know when i decide

Making a spot her house quidditch team had always been a dream of Lesedi's since her brother had been co-captain when he was at school; now he played pro league quidditch and she was just now trying out for the Gryffindor team. Funny how fast time had gone by, it seemed like just yesterday that he was teaching her how to play on a toy broom in their backyard. She was well aware that she was easily the youngest person trying out, and most likely that meant she would get an alternate spot, but Lesedi was just excited to get to show off her skills for next year.

"Lesedi Yeboah, trying out for keeper position." She explained to the boy with the clipboard who looked like he was in charge. As soon as the other keeper had finished his turn, Lesedi took to the sky on her broom and made a lap before hovering over to the hoops and assuming the position. The chasers soon came barreling towards her on their brooms, tossing the quaffle back and forth. Lesedi quickly banked left and blocked the shot, then slapped another out of the air before it could pass through the hoop. She failed to notice the third shot that flew past her and into the hoop, scoring a would-be point for the chaser. Lesedi was a bit disappointed that she couldn't have blocked them all, but came down to the ground happy that she had been able to try out at all.
