Cassandra had taken it to herself to do a little bit of a tour around the castle, she'd spend the next year here after all so best get familiar and comfortable with everything. She was on her way back from said tour around the grounds and lower floors, up towards her new common room. Honestly the castle wasn't that much different from the one in Scotland, but then again both of them were probably far older than her nan and great nan combined.

As she walked down the fifth floor corridor and multiple doors she couldn't help but stop at the door that was slightly ajar. Wouldn't hurt to take a peek right? With soft steps she walked to the door and popped her head in to see a blond boy sitting by a desk writing something on a piece of parchment. Yuck she still could not fathom how the magical people hadn't been able to evolve from the medieval methods of studying, alas she made her way towards the boy. "My my what's going on here then?" She asked, her thick London accent very apparent. Cassie didn't care to ask for a permission as she sat down next to the boy; trying to take a peek at whatever he was working on.

Eoghan had dropped one club this year, but he still planned to work hard for the second one he was part of. The school paper gave him an outlet to put his beliefs on paper and even if not all the students were on board and agreed with him, it was just important for Eoghan that he was able to put out the option to those who would see things the way he did, and perhaps it would inspire them to take comfort in the things going on in their lives.

The Ravenclaw was scribbling out his idea with the intention of handing it over to Hugo or Miranda. Perhaps the latter given Hugo's recent status. Suddenly a girl who appeared slightly older than himself took a seat next to him, trying to get a look at what he was doing. It took him a moment to find his voice, unsure why someone thought it was acceptable to approach someone minding their own business and immediately put their face into their work. "It's for the Hogwarts Monthly," Eoghan stated simply, not realising she was a transfer student and may not have known what that meant.

Cassandra looked at the boy curiously, who seemed a bit baffled by her approach. Cute. "Ah so the school paper, yeah we have one like that back in Scotland too." She said with a smile, she'd never worked on the school paper but she always read it. "Sooo, what are you writing about then?" She asked even more curious than last time. Was she looking to be all up in this poor unsuspecting guys business? Unfortunately for him the Gryffindors grasp at reins when it came to her nosiness wasn't the most evolved.

Despite being here for two years, Eoghan hadn't met anyone else who'd come from Scotland. Of course he didn't live there, but his mother did and by her side of the genetic pool he was half Scottish himself. "Oh.. How are you finding New Zealand in comparison?" He asked, the cogs turning in hid head. The girl was still curious about what he was doing. Not curious like a Ravenclaw though, more curious in a way she had a lack of boundaries. "I er, well I do tarot readings." Eoghan didn't especially want to go into detail but he had to if he was going to give her context. He slowly closed the notebook he'd been writing in and laid his pen on the desk. "Last year I wrote the Quidditch segment for the paper, using Tarot to predict outcomes," with varying degrees of success. "This year I don't want to write about Quidditch, but something more personal to readers."

Cassandra gave a soft shrug, "I mean it is more or less the same except reversed in the time and season aspect I suppose." It was very similar, eerily so even at times. "It's a nice change though with so many new faces." She admitted before listening to him explaining what he was doing. Her eyes grew double in size at the mention of Tarot, one of her personal favourites. "Oh? Do you think there's some sort of an archive or sh*t like that? I'd love to read." The Gryffindor asked enthusiastically. "I too use a lot of Tarot, started getting into them before I even knew about all this magical sh*t. I was sooo glad to hear it could be of use even at Hogwarts." She explained, inwardly grimacing at the fact had her mother heard the two times in the last few minutes she just cussed, Cassandra would have found herself in a world of trouble. "What are you thinking of doing this year then?" The brunette asked, leaning a bit more toward the boy. He seemed like a very interesting person so far.

Eoghan knew what the girl meant about the change of seasons, it was the same coming back from Finland. "Isn't that daunting?" Eoghan asked, thinking to how Tori must be feeling too at Durmstrang, surrounded by people she didn't know. Mind you, Tori had always been the outgoing and welcoming type, so he had no doubt she'd easily make new friends during her semester there. It was this girls cursing that drew Eoghan's attention back to her, and not in a pleasant way. Each time she used it he felt like he was receiving a light electric shock. "If you're looking for the article archives, yes there is one," he responded more out of obligation not to lie to her than he wanted to keep a conversation going. He didn't bother to mention that he'd only been part of the paper for one year, and he wasn't sure how often tarot had been mentioned before then. The third year was even struggling to connect with her as she went on to talk about her own interest in tarot, because as much as Eoghan was capable of discussing the subject, it was hard to discuss anything at all with someone so obnoxious. Unfortunately, her torrent of questions continued. Eoghan wasn't keen to tell her his plan, but he'd told himself he'd do his best not to be rude to people this year, to care for more than just himself. "I want to do readings for the different houses, and for the different groups around the school. Take Ravenclaw's for example, what can they expect to see in the coming months, or the professors, what should they be on the lookout with students." It was all about asking the right questions really, then it was just up to the reader whether to take the advise on board.
