Here's how house points went down this year:

While it's obvious that some houses were hurt more dramatically by loss of points (see Gryffindor's dip in the last third, there) - essentially Hufflepuff's climb was steady. Which suggests that this cannot just be attributed to the first year surge (as it continued past the first few weeks of the year).
It was clearly helped by Quidditch throughout the year (those steep jumps up), but even then the incline is pretty stable overall.
Is there some grand conspiracy to ensure a Hufflepuff victory and everybody abandoned their non-puff characters?
Does a certain professor favour Hufflepuff over any other house (looking at you, Professor Haden... :glare: )? :tut:

What happened this year, and is Hufflepuff victory a certainty for future years?

I for one celebrate this Hufflepuff victory. Though my main active characters are mostly Gryffindors and Ravenclaws so I have not contributed to this astonishing victory at all. But I hope it continues for years to come.

I am celebrating this victory as well. Seems like it was a good thing for me to come back and make Danielle Corelli my main account. I am trying my best here to contribute more points.

To clarify: My post is not about whether or not Hufflepuff winning is a good thing. It's far more about the drastic gap in the points (winning by over 1,000 points) and the lack of competition for Hufflepuff all year long.
It's way more fun to win when you had a chance to lose. ;)

I remember a year when Hufflepuff had a large lead going into semester break. Then ended up finishing last after a dismal semester two. So I'm thrilled about no competition during the year.

I say Hufflepuff winning was a fluke and won't happen again :p

I still think Professor Misha Haden had something to do with it. :tut:

Yeah well.

Pfffffft :p

Nick, forever the Hufflepuff Hater.

Some things never do change. xD

Ps. Didn't help in anyway, but very proud!

I say congrats to Hufflepuff this year. I recall seeing a lot of third year Hufflepuffs in classes answering questions :r I do hope next year the other teams step up their game and give Hufflepuff some competition as far as Quidditch goes. Not too many Hufflepuffs seem to be trouble makers and getting points taken away..maybe that should change :r

As the Hufflepuff HoH I say no please! :r xD

If I ever get another Hufflepuff character I'm going to make them sweet for their first year and then a devil for the rest of their school life just so Hufflepuff loses by heaps one year.

Disclaimer: I love Hufflepuff and I happen to be one myself. I just thought the prospect of this would be amusing :r

Is this the first time a house has won with this big a difference? I think some new characters that happened to be very active were added to Hufflepuff (Minerva Khulik and Geo Volt come to mind, I believe these two together would have nearly 1000 points between them already) and the quidditch added up as well. I'm fairly active with my puffs but I don't think anyone is purposely neglecting their other characters to give Hufflepuff such a lead

Besides this is like the fourth time ever they won :p It was just their time xD

I guess not!
In Y10 Slytherin won by like 2,000 points, and Ravenclaw nearly did the same as recently as Y25.
Maybe it's just because of how close it was last year that it seems so outrageous. xD

Ohh that is interesting to see! It does look like they broke a record by going past 7000 though :o

It looks like we broke the record this year for 6000 too :o
