Here it is, Ladies and Gentlemen, the information you've been waiting for.
The TriWizard Tournament: Y9
A tonne of work has gone, and will continue to, go in to this. It has been a long process planning this. We began in October, 2009 - was really pushed in November and has been pushed again this month and we're still not done.
I will keep this as short as it can be, but even that may be fairly long.
TriWizard Tournament Information:
Schools Involved: Beauxbatons, Durmstrang, Hogwarts New Zealand
Host School: Beauxbatons
Eligibility: Students must be 17 to put their names in the Goblet. Therefore, only seventh years and any sixth years whose birthdays are like before September 17[sup]th[/sup] will be eligible to compete.
How we'll choose the champions: Interested characters will fill out the application found here. We will then choose three students from each school to roleplay placing their names in the Goblet. The Goblet will then choose one student from each school to be that school's champion.
Judging: The judges will be the head of each school, except in the case of New Zealand's judge who will be Gellert Coote.
A point system has been determined to decide the winner of each task. There would be hard-points (those assigned for winning a task), and arbitrarily defined points. For instance:
[th colspan="4"]"Hard" Points[/th]
[th]
Those "hard points" would be the points that no judge would have any sway over. Finishing a task first or in the quickest amount of time would decide what 'place' a champion came in. Whart a "win" is considered will be included in the rules for each task.
The arbitrary points will be things such as "Creativity" or "Style" where the Judges would have 5 or 10 points (depending on the task) to award per competition for style. They wouldn't have to award all the points, but they could. So the Champion from Durmstrang could be given 3 style points for his use of a certain technique in a task while in the Beauxbatons champion, in the same task, is given 2 style points for a certain spell being used and the HNZ champion gets none, because everbody knows HNZ peeps have no style.
Time-Line: (Note: All dates are OOC)

Forums: A set of TWT forums have been created here in the All Around the Wizarding World forum. The Beauxbatons school has been expanded slightly, and a new forum will be added for each task. These forums will be visible to all members (including Hogwarts Students) during the TriWizard Tournament.
How the Tournament will Affect HogwartsNZ (As a School):
Classes During the TWT: Any students from HNZ at the TWT will just pretend they did classes at Beauxbatons, and they'll get off scott-free for HNZ classes/exams.
Graduation:The TWT will wrap up before HNZ graduation so the people who went for the TWT can still have their ceremony.
Quidditch: Quidditch has been put on hold for Y9 because of the tournament. There will be no games.
Note: Applications to take part in the TWT will close on Wednesday, the 27[sup]th[/sup] of January.
We will also be needing several members to take part in special portions of the tournament (for instance, if a task requires magical creatures, will will ask certain members to roleplay those creatures).
More information will come for specific tasks as we draw nearer to them. However, if you are interested in helping run the Tournament behind the scenes (with roleplaying whatever we need roleplayed) you can convey your interest to myself either in a PM, or in this topic, and a list of people we can call on will be compiled.
This has been a fair amount of work, and a long time coming, I hope you all enjoy the tournament as the events unfold.
