Elysia Styx took hours on perfecting her hair before she just resorted to magic to deal with it. It was hard enough getting it to stay where it was, even more so to keep it straight. Elysia sighed as she finished the final touches on her dress, unsure of how the evening would turn out in heels such as the ones that covered her feet. Elysia was not a huge fan, but she was getting around it. She tugged her dress up a little on the front, and decided that she was more than ready to go. Elysia was feeling a little more elated since her brother knew about their affair. It wasn't even an affair so much as two people pulled together by a string of fate. Elysia walked down the long staircases, barely breaking a sweat by the time she reached the bottom. She felt her heel catch and she toppled over to the wall, catching herself and nearly twisting her ankle at the same time. Elysia hissed under her breath, "Whoever invented heels needs one to the face." Cursed contraption. Who would want to wear these blasted things all the time?

Zared was nervous, more nervous than he'd been about anything in his short life. He needed this to work out, he was certain that it would work out. After all, Professor Styx had begrudgling agreed to it the day before. He had stared him out for a good hour or so, before the ever so slight curt nod had given all that he had needed for it. Zared had planned this as much as he could plan such a thing. He was stood waiting for Elysia, knowing that he seemed visibly nervous, but that could be excused by the fact he was going to be spending a night dancing with his beautiful girlfriend, and anything like that made him nervous. The social setting of it made him nervous. He spotted her as she seemed to topple over. He hurried over and held out his hand to her, a small smile on his face. She was the most beautiful girl in the school, the veela's had nothing on her. The best thing about it was that she chose to be with him. She chose to be his girlfriend. She had her choice of anyone in the school, of the purebloods, but they were together. Zared would have to wait for the right opportunity, straight out the gate seemed like the wrong choice. "You okay?" he asked quietly.

Elysia glanced up to have her eyes graced with the presence of Zared Katsaros. Sure, she could have just about anyone she really wanted, but she doubted that they would have the right qualifications. First, they wouldn't be Zared Katsaros. The rest were self-explanatory. She reached and grabbed his hand as she steadied herself up on her feels. She brushed some strands of hair out of her face with her free hand, and gave his hand a squeeze, "Yes, just... Heels and stairs do not make a compatible combination." Elysia chose her words delicately, especially around him. Elysia sighed as she managed to fight through the small pain that her ankle was causing her. It would be a slight nuissance overall. "Shall we begin our night? I only get one more of these before we graduate." Elysia reminded herself of her own graduation coming up. Truth be told, she did not know what she wanted to do. Perhaps go into what her family did. That seemed reasonable.

Zared nodded at her as she took his hand to steady herself. He couldn't imagine taking anyone elses hand like he did with hers. He had never really given himself the opportunity to date other people but he had not wanted to at all. There were few people whom his parents would accept and he was happiest with Elysia. The prefect couldn't imagine anyone being as perfect, as elegant or as amazing as Elysia was. He listened at her complaint about the shoes, he wondered why she opted for such shoes if they were such a bother, but he had to admit she did look really lovely in them. He gave a small smile and a nod and led her into the great hall, motioning to the dance floor, this was their second last yuleball, and he knew it needed to be special. He knew at some point he would have to do it, he would have to do what he had planned but he could yet muster the confidence. He didn't even know what he would say to her, if he could find the words for it. The boy put his arm around her waist and smiled leaning into her ear, "You look beautiful, Elysia,"

Elysia leaned into his touch, as he led her into the Great Hall. She walked to the dance floor, where many others gathered. Yet, to her, the only ones that existed were herself and Zared. As her ankle groaned in protest of her constant walking, she did not care. She may regret it later, but Elysia smiled regardless as Zared placed his arm around her waist, and leaned into her ear. Elysia sighed in content at the compliment. He was perfect in every way. She turned her body around so that the Ravenclaw prefect could face him, sliding her hands around his neck. Elysia started to move her body in tune with the music, yet her eyes never left his. "As such tradition in this school, somehow, I still enjoy each one I attend with you. The best prefect Slytherin could offer." Just, dealing with Kalif Styx was the downside. She never wanted to cross him.

Zared was certainly happy to be dancing with her, the perfect feeling of her body close to his. He could grow used to that in every aspect of their life moving forward. He smiled at her, the smile which seemed to be exclusively for her. He listened as she spoke, he loved her, and she certainly seemed to love him, "Forever?" he asked when she was done, he knew that she was just talking about school but he wanted to mean every future event they could ever attend in and out of school, that she would enjoy them with him. He knew that he could probably ask it now, but felt a confirmation of forever was a good first step towards him. He knew that if he left it any longer his nervousness over what she would say would entirely take over and she would know something was up with him. He wanted this night to be perfect for them.

That smile definitely need to make Elysia melt. That smile that seemed to be just for her. She adored it, and thought that she was definitely a lucky girl. She lucked out when Lestat made Zared his friend. Otherwise, she might not have come this far. Though, it might have prevented their hateful feelings for each other. It comes to show that hate is definitely a tiny step toward love. All that passion. Zared said one word, which Elysia did not even pause to articulate her thoughts. It seemed as though her heart knew just what to say, "Always and forever." Elysia could not picture her life without the Slytherin. Her life seemed to revolve with him in her life. Elysia knew that, for certain, that Zared would remain so long as she willed him to.

It was all the confirmation that Zared needed really. He stopped dancing, and tugged Elysia a little away from others, doing everything as he always did, silently. He had one hand in his suit jacket and he was ready for this. He stopped and turned to look at her before getting down on one knee and taking out the little box with an engagement ring and holding it up. He said nothing, just stared hopefully at her. If it was always and forever what was the sense in waiting around. They could begin that forever now. He had asked for Styx's permission, not wanting to anger the older man, come to him with his family tree to prove he was worthy and had been given all the permission that man would ever give. He had prepared something to say but he wasn't finding the words now. He wanted to marry Elysia, and he was asking as much without the use of any words at all.

Elysia felt Zared stop dancing, which made her a little confused. Was Zared a little upset with her answer? Surely not. Elysia followed Zared after he tugged her away from the others. The Ravenclaw prefect remained confused as he finally stopped, turned to her and got down on one knee. He had a little box in his hand, and within it, was the engagement ring. Her silvery green eyes remained shocked. That was why he said forever. Her hand flew to her lips as her brain started to process. The ring looked expensive, and she did wonder if this was a possibility. Elysia just didn't think it would happen to quickly. He was wordless. His gestures were so much. Elysia bent down onto her knees and planted her lips on his. She did not need to voice her yes toward him. She wanted to marry Zared. Elysia wrapped her arms around his neck, not pulling away from the kiss.
