OWLs, Quidditch, Hogwarts Monthly. Dervish and Bange's. How was someone like Leda meant to balance everything like that? She had the attention span of a three year old and couldn't keep still long enough to save her life. Now she was expected her do all of this and keep up her social life? The Slytherin had barely had a chance to talk to Mervyn for over a year, and she hadn't seen many people from her common room in what felt like forever. She had at least taken to her prefect duties better than she could have hoped for. She hadn't wanted the position, she didn't need the attention. Luckily she'd managed to get away with standing out too much, her badge often hiding underneath her robes and only participating in the occasional patrol duty. It had been weeks too since she'd heard from Olive, even though her sister apparently was keen to bridge the gap that had divided the two siblings.
Taking to the skies in order to practise her techniques in time for the next match, she hoped it would give her a chance to feel better. It wasn't that she disliked being busy, it was fun to have what she did and deep down she knew she was very lucky, but that didn't mean the fifth year had an easy job of knowing how to balance it all. What happened if she ended up disliking the career she was working towards? With no one else in the school to turn to she only had herself to trust, and the additional responsibilities was making her more agitated than usual.

The only real escape Sapphire had found from anything anymore was her position on the Quidditch team. Well, that and her music. But the Arts room was busy right now and she didn't feel like being around people. She sauntered onto the Quidditch Pitch, her sapphire streak over her shoulder and her free hand in her pocket. She'd switched from suckers to mint gum a few months back and was enjoying the change. She paused as she came onto the field, pausing as she noticed the redhead in the skies. Her heart throbbed painfully, but she had gotten used to ignoring it. "'Ello Leda." She called to the redhead, blowing a bubble in her gum. "Wanna practice together?" She asked, not wanting to stick around if the redhead didn't want to speak with her.

It didn’t take the Slytherin long to be joined, by the person that had stolen the attention of her best friend too at that. Leda didn’t think they’d been the greatest of couples when they were together, and while she was pleased that Mervyn had finally broken things off with the younger girl, she was debating whether Sapphire had taken the news well. The Quidditch team needed to be on their full form if they were going to win matches, and having distractions like boys in that way were just unnecessary and gross. Leda shuddered at the horrible thought and put it to the back of her mind - At least Sapphire wasn’t moping in her room and instead seemed, like Leda, to want to practise. The redhead just hoped she wouldn’t get too attached to her now her beau had run away. ”Alright.” Regardless she could have used company on the field too. ”Do you still player Beater?” she asked, hoping she had bought her own equipment with her. She didn’t need to baby sit her house mates either, she had enough on her plate to do.

Sapphire sighed in relief. She didn't really feel like trying to find something else to do. She nodded at Leda's question. "Yeah, an alternate." She took her bag off her shoulder and took her practice ball and her bat from it. She tossed her bag under the stands nearby before mounting her broom and taking to the air. She came to a stop near Leda. "You have anything you wanted to do or do you wanna just practice around each other for now?" She inquired before swallowing her gum.

He saw her, she was at the pitch and with someone else. Another Slytherin was her company, he didn't care. Syrus needed to confront her one way or another, or else she'll spread more lies about him. More rumors and Rama will think those lies were true. She already did, which made him angry. Made him furious that she didn't trust him. He had promised he wouldn't do anything to hurt her, break her trust. And sadly, she believed the lies over him and that did not sit well with Syrus. He was fuming, he was angry and he was directing his ill-temper to Leda. "Leda!" Syrus barked, his fingers coiled in a fist. Both. "Leda!" he roared again. "Leda, stop spreading these insane rumors about me!"

Leda nodded, wondering if Sapphire would be more than an alternative at some point. Odette was good but she’d be graduating at the end of the year, and they would need a solid replacement. “Actually I wanted to practice my flying rather than my catching. I need to go fast. And avoid bludgers of course.” Before the fifth year could begin however she heard someone else calling out her name on the ground. What rumours could the Gryffindor seeker possibly be talking about? Leda only asked questions to find out the truth. Lowering her broom and making her way back to the ground, she peered across to the boy with a motion to Sapphire that she would only be a second. “Something wrong?” She enquired, she was innocent after all.

Sapphire was startled by someone shouting at Leda. She turned to see a Gryffindor. Uh, Sylus maybe? She raised a brow as he yelled something about Leda spreading rumors. She turned to the redhead as she flew down to address the boy, signaling she'd be back in a second. Sapph leaned on her broom and propped her chin in her hands. This should be interesting.

Syrus was vexed, Syrus was furious! "Yeah, there something wrong!" Syrus went up to the redhead, he wouldn't hit a girl but he was very tempted to curse her on the spot. "You need to stay out of my business and stop making it seems like there something going between me and my friend, Willow," the older teen spat, he hasn't been this rightfully mad in a long time. The last time he remembered being this mad he was a third year and April had seen rant and rave about not making it on the team. "Call me names, trash talk all you want, but once you've stuck your nose where it doesn't belong, that's crossing the line!"

Leda just smiled. Is that was this was all about? The Gryffindor has been called out on his questionable actions and now he couldn’t stand and face the consequences. He had a lot to learn. “Is that a threat, Stilinski?” She asked, tilting her head to ponder for a moment. The Slytherin didn’t take well to being threatened. James knew that best of all. Leda pushed her head back in a dramatic laugh, one hand still on her broom but the other began to move across out in front of her. “Imagine this. Young lovers, dancing their way through Quidditch. Syrus and his beautiful girlfriend Willow, seen winning together for the first” Leda suddenly dropped character “and probably last lets be honest” before resuming her fake persona “time!” What a story everyone would love to hear from the papers. “Who would have thought it, Rama Mowry cast aside, for an unstoppable blonde. Too bad she had to find out the hard way she was being cheated on. Is the reputation of this boy forever destroyed? You decide.” Leda stopped, the words she imagined flickering across the front page as everyone read about how someone who could have been something, lost it all through every fault of his own. Would it only be Rama that turned against him?
The fifth year moved forward, forward until her face was just mear inches from the older boys, and she swung her broom to the opposite arm to which she lent against it, her eyes slowly glancing between either of his studiously. “Words are a powerful thing Stilinski. I suggest you choose your next ones very wisely.” The days when she could outright kick someone for their behaviour had long gone. She needed to be more subtle about her revenge now. Leda had and always had been doing the right thing, simply asking about their relationship when Syrus had gone and let the situation escalate. Clearly he had something to hide and if wasn’t going to drop it, nor would she.
She was done here. She turned away from the sixth year, looking back at Sapphire and making her way confidently back across the grass to meet her, one hand dropping into her pocket to retrieve the snitch she’d stowed away for the practise, and glancing down to the beaters equipment before giving the fourth year a nudge. “Come on, we’ve got bigger balls to beat.” The cup was waiting for Slytherin, and unlike Gryffindor, they still had a chance to come out on top.

Sapphire had no idea what was going on, but Leda was kicking that Gryffindor's arse. Verbally, of course. She grinned wickedly. She adored Leda. Worshipped her. So when Leda turned back to her, she was more than willing to follow her lead. Sapphire nodded to the older boy and turned to follow Leda. There was no way the guy would do anything else. She was sure of it.

Syrus looked on confused, Leda has lost it. "Alright, crazy," Syrus responded after all that dramatic theater she put on for show. Whatever she saw between him and Willow didn't exist in this reality, far from it. Syrus wasn't sure to pity the girl or be angry with her. It was hard to stay. Thankfully, this was his last year and all these horrid rumors would be all behind him. "Keep your nose out of my business," Syrus called after Leda then returns storming back to the castle. Can he not be friends with witches? Is sexism alive in the wizarding world as well? How sad. Syrus might have to avoid Willow to prove there was nothing between them. He doubts it will make any difference.
