Selene hadn't planned on goin to the dance. okay it was her last dance in the school. she had thought about going. even brought a dress with her but she had planned on going sort of how she had planned on going to. dinner. her stomach guiding her down mainly for food maybe chatting with friends but not really 'going' to the dance. but things had a way of working out differently to how you expected them. even the divination geek was surprised with what the future brought sometimes and elliot had asked her to the dance, as friends of course, while she ad been delivering roses how could she have said no? she got ready she had borrowed a dress off helia. it wasn't her usual style. too pale and airy. she wasn't sure if it was helias usual style either but it certainly belonged to the 'sunshine twin' more than the 'moonlight twin'
she made her way down the stairs and paused at the start of the last staircase scanning to see if she could see elliot she did and made her way down the stairs trying not to trip up over the flowing scarves of silk. "Hey elliot" she said as she approached waving slightly as she spoke. "well done with the roses organising all of them must have been a mamoth job. but I do enjoy them" she said.

Elliot hadn't really been planning to ask Selene to the dance tonight. It had slipped out before he'd really thought about it earlier today, though he'd been pleasantly surprised she'd accepted. With Lily going with Clifton, something admittedly Elliot would be lying if he'd said he wasn't at least a little put out about, he'd just been planning on going alone. He supposed it was his own fault for just assuming they'd be going like they did for the Yule Ball. And maybe it was for the best that she was getting some closure with him, even if Elliot and Clifton weren't exactly getting along very well right now.

He looked up when Selene joined him downstairs, pausing a moment to take in how different she looked out of her usual clothes or uniform before clearing his throat and smiling at her as she spoke. "Hey, yeah, thanks for helping with deliveries and everything too. I think I might end up smelling like roses for the next week but I guess there are worse problems," he said with a sheepish smile, pausing before offering Selene his arm so they could head into the hall together. "You look nice, by the way," he added.

Selene smiled as she saw eliot. he looked a little tired but wasn't that a given fo NWET year. but he also looked smart dressed in a suit. she couldn't say that she had been expecting him to ask her but she was glad that he had. it would be nice to go to the dance with a friend.
She was a little unsure what to do when he offered her his arm she took it and they entered the great hall. "Thank you. you look smart" she said as he complimented her look. while it wasn't her usual style she didn't dislike it. she quposed when they had been little she and helia had shared clothes before they had each branced into their own style. and it sort of felt nice being connected to her sister again even it they had been drifting apart so much over the years. as they entered the great hall her eyes were asulted by lots of pink, yed and white. colours that she would safely say weren't her colours. "What do you want to do? dance? eat? see if anyone else is around?" she said, it wasn't that she didn't want to hang with him. not that at all. but they were here as friends. he had a girlfriend and she was pretty sure that the guy she liked liked her back though they hadn't talked about it at all. maybe it was because she was in helia;s dress and it carried some other personality, o because it was called a dance or because she was running on sweetness from the deliveries but she sort of felt like dancing. at least before the slow dances started playing.

Elliot ducked his head, smiling when Selene returned the compliment as they walked into the hall. He tried not to get caught up too much on preemptive nostalgia, reminded again that this would be one of the last big events for them at school before graduation. It'd be harder to enjoy if he kept thinking about that all night, something he'd learned well enough with Alice last year.

He mulled over Selene's question, not really feeling hungry yet. It'd be nice to see if they could catch up with any of their friends in their year tonight as well, though Elliot could already see Blake and Lars tangled up with each other. He also spotted Tilly near that Gryffindor girl who'd been bullying her, resolved to keep an eye on them in case things went wrong there. "Let's dance for a bit?" He offered, taking a few steps out onto the dance floor. "Last school dance and all," he added with a smile. "Maybe we'll bump into some friends too."
