He was finally here! Lachlan could hardly believe it as he stumbled about following the swarm of first years, herded by prefects and professors, into the Great Hall. Great was underselling it. Amazing, Stupendous, Hall, more likely. The enchanted ceiling mesmerized him and he almost tripped over his slightly-too-large robes as his eyes remained fixed upward and the hands that had held his robes out of the way of his shuffling feet fell limp at his side. He couldn't believe this was all real. He'd grown up around magic, but this seemed particularly magical even in a world of magic.

It took all of his focus to pay attention to the professor speak, and then his concentration wandered when names began to be called out. He surveyed the room around him. Floating candles: a simple levitation charm. Ghosts floating about: how do ghosts work? Why aren't all dead people ghosts? Back to the enchanted ceiling: it's just the sky outside - but why does it seem so especially magical? "Wander, Lachlan. Wander, Lachlan." His name drifted slowly into his consciousness and suddenly he was wretched from his curiosity back into the present moment. "Shorry!" Lachlan exclaimed, eyes wide, as he climbed up the steps toward the stool, hoping nobody had paid much attention to his speaking.

Rosalina wasn't sure if she felt nauseous because she was excited, or because she was nervous. Maybe it was a little of both. Hogwarts was a way she could define herself. Her brother and sister were sent to different schools, so there was no way either of them could push her into the background. Or stop her from having fun. "I wonder what houses they would be sorted into if they were here." Rosalina thought to herself as the group of first years was ushered into the Great Hall. Personally Rosalina didn't care where she was sorted, she just wanted to be put with a group of people she could have the most fun with. It'd be cool if her and Chacen wound up in the same house, but it wouldn't be the end of the world if they weren't either. Hr would still be her closest friend, as long as she could keep his eyes off the other girls for more than five minutes. "What house did you say your mother was in again?" Rosalina whispered to Chacen as they passed by the tables of older students. He told her before, but Rosalina wasn't the best at remembering things.

The group paused in front of an old stool and hat. One by one they were called up to have the hat placed on their heads. Chacen was placed into Gryffindor and Rosalina watched as she went off to join the group of kids dressed in red. For the life of her she couldn't remember what the Gryffindor house was famous for. It was hard to say where she felt she belonged. The hat might be able to see parts of her that she couldn't see herself, so how was she to say that she knew where she belonged. When Rosalina's name was called she walked over to the stool and inelegantly sat herself down. The hat was placed onto her head and Rosalina waited patiently to see where the hat felt she would fit in best.

Isaiah had told them stories of a large, auspicious hall filled by four prominent tables respectively decorated with green, blue, red and yellow overlooked by a ceiling like the sky. He had told them stories of having his fate for the next seven years taken from his own hands and decided by a momentary exchange with an old, yet wise hat placed on his head. Stories which Xavier had listened to, intently and curiously, but stories he had chosen not to believe and only wanted to think as a narrative until the sight unfolded in front of his eyes.

Xavier stepped alongside Ares into the hall as he took the atmosphere in, admiring the sights and the sounds of the students while his eyes scanned the room in the hope of spotting Isaiah. The hall itself was as large as Isaiah's stories had foretold, intimidating even with the students staring the soon-to-be first years down with mixed expressions as they huddled together in a small group while walking to towards where the headmistress stood. Ares' sudden tugging on Xavier's sleeve darted his attention from the world around him in a different direction. His face lit up with a bright expression when his eyes fell on Isaiah at the Ravenclaw table, perched on his seat and looking as proud as ever. Xavier waved enthusiastically, resisting the urge he had to call Isaiah's name and choosing to give him wordless thumbs up instead to show that everything was alright. Xavier was ready to be sorted, that much was certain. He was ready to put an end to the stories and letters from Isaiah during the year because they were there, in the same school at the same time, able to experience the same things, first hand and alongside each other. Xavier was nothing but excited, although he was still slightly distracted by taking in every detail of the new environment he found himself in.

The group stopped and Xavier moved his attention from Isaiah and back to the headmistress, patiently waiting through the names called and the owners of the names being sorted. It was fascinating, really. How a magical hat could read someone's mind in the space of a few seconds and sort them into a house. Xavier smiled when Ares' name was called first and watched in awe as the hat was placed on his twin brother's head and before he knew it his own name rung in his ears. He stepped forward and sat comfortably on the stool, smile still apparent on his features as he awaited the hat's decision of where he would be placed in the school for the next seven years.

Miya followed the other first years into the Great Hall with her head down and eyes peering out from under her fringe. Her mother had warned her there would be a lot of people at the school, but nothing had prepared Miya for the sensory overload of colours and sound. She'd hidden a peppermint under her tongue to give her something to focus on and distract her from the crowded room, but instead of helping it had ended up making her even more worried that someone would smell the peppermint on her and she would get into trouble.

Her heart sank a little as the headmistress announced that the forest was forbidden, but something being against the rules wasn't going to stop Miya. She looked around at the students and wondered if she'd be able to find somebody else in the school who wanted to join her in that adventure, as she didn't think she'd be brave enough on her own.

"Bell, Miya." Miya was glad her name was near the beginning of the alphabet, since she wouldn't have to keep waiting in anticipation to find out her house. She walked up to the front and involuntarily flinched as the hat touched her head. Miya whispered a quiet apology to the hat for taking up its time and tried not to notice the hundreds of eyes staring at her.

Asher could barely contain his excitement. He had made a couple of friends on the train ride over, but this, sorting, was what he was really excited about. He think he knew what house he would be in, but he couldn't be sure, and he didn't want to say anything because he didn't want to jinx it. Asher wasn't completely superstitious, but one could never be too sure in the world of magic.
Asher did wish that his mom was there, but he didn't tell anyone that. He didn't want to be seen as a baby; even though she was the one crying at the station. His dad was there too, but he didn't seem to care too much. However, the Headmistress was his grandmom, so that definitely helped him feel a little bit less home sick. It was such a weird mixture of feelings; to be so excited, but so nervous at the same time.
Asher followed in with the rest of the soon to be first years. He smiled at his grandmom, but tried to avert his glance after that. Knowing her, she would wave and let everyone know, and Asher would just die if that happened. He didn't think he'd ever live it down if she did.
The young boy listened to the song from the Hat, and waited in anticipation. His name was closer to the beginning, but still, there were quite a few students to get through before him. Finally it was his turn. He almost ran up the stairs, but managed to control his excitement, before gallantly sitting on the stool, taking in the view before him.

Ever since she left home that morning Freya hadn't been sure of what she was feeling. A part of her was extremely excited about attending the school whilst another part of her had been nervous to leave home. She had kept telling herself things would be fine, that she was going to learn all these knew things and that she was going to have fun for the entire train ride. However it hadn't helped much. She was well aware of the fact that she had been lying to herself the entire time, because to be honest she knew exactly what she was feeling. The girl was terrified. Having been homeschooled ever since she can remember she had little to no experience with how the world actually worked and to suddenly be send off to a school with a lot of other people scared her.

The only thing Freya knew at the moment however was that she wasn't in this alone. She was surrounded by the other first year students as they were huddled into a big group, waiting in front of the door that led to the Great Hall untill they were being called in. Looking around the girl noticed her hands weren't the only ones shaking. A lot of other students around her seemed to be as nervous as she was, perhaps a bit less, and she was glad to know she wasn't the only one feeling that way. Soon enough the huge doors in front of the group opened and Freya made her way towards the front of the hall with the others. She could feel the eyes of the students in the hall observing them, but at the same time she was thrown back by how amazing this place looked. The students came to a halt when they reached the fron of the hall and after they were welcomed by who seemed to be the Headmistress they were being called forward one by one, in alphabetical order. When the "O" was reached and Freya's name was called out she nervously made her way forward and took her place on the stool. Feeling the old hat being placed on her head the girl cosed her eyes, waiting for it to make a decision.

Ridley Quinn walked in silence at the back of the herd. She was in no rush to be sorted, and knew it would happen whether she wanted it or not. Her parents had told her of the four houses. Gryffindor; Those who were brave, eager and courageous made it into this house. Ravenclaw was the house for those who liked to spend their afternoons in the boring libraries, Hufflepuff was full of all the students who were too nice to fit anywhere else. Eugh. And then there was Slytherin, the house where those who were deemed unsavoury were placed. Whichever she ended up being sorted into, she knew she would have just one goal in her mind during her time at Hogwarts.

Being a mute, it was difficult on occasion for Ridley to get her feelings across, not that she tried that very often. Students stared at her, and she remained calm and blank faced, unwilling to give any emotion away. Lets get this over with then she thought, walking up to the hat as her name was spoken. The sooner she could sit at the back, and begin to observe her classmates the better. Right now she felt as though she were drowning in a dark sea, full of the unknown, and she wanted nothing more than to swim away. Dear God she thought don't put me with those people her eyes washing over the crowd to see the giggling girls of Gryffindor. She didn't know if she could bare being around people so inclusive. Well? she waited for her fate to be decided.

Leonardo Benivieni knew that his older twin siblings had described it just as he saw it right now, his eyes never leaving the hall's decorations, but one had to physically see it themselves. There was no way that he could've imagined it like this. He could feel all eyes on him but even when the rest of his classmates beside him were nervous and darting their eyes back and forth from the respective older students and professors alike, Leo couldn't keep his grin from etching onto his face. He absolutely loved Hogwarts already! It was a magnificent sight to see, really. He unwillingly and reluctantly took his gaze off of the ceiling and in front of him. He stood a little taller and his small frame was proud that he could finally become part of the Hogwarts NZ family. He was also glad he had Alessio who would guide him throughout the years and give him tips. In return - Leo knew about Al not having a lot of friends at the moment - the young eleven-year-old would ensure his brother wouldn't go without friends this year. Sure, he'd made one or two, but that didn't exactly count. Al never spoke much about them.

Soon, the soon to be first years were in front of the stool with a hat sitting on it. Leo furrowed his eyebrows. Is this what was going to sort them into the four houses? His question was answered when the professor mentioned its name. The Sorting Hat. Maybe his older brother and sister may have forgotten to tell him about this small detail. Oh well. He shrugged at this and paid attention. After a few minutes of introductions, the names were being called out. "I wonder which house Sara would be sorted into in a few year's time," he muttered really quietly to himself unable to stop himself. He didn't notice his bad english but it was to be expected. It did run in the family. He glanced at the professor and other students but nobody seemed to have heard him. Good. The third Benivieni child waited, controlling his excitement, his short frame being as confident as possible, which was not hard for Leonardo at all. Finally, surnames starting with 'B' were being called out. Then it was his turn.

"Benivieni, Leonardo!"

Despite the situation where everyone was whispering, seeing as he was another Benivieni child (wait until Sara came to HNZ!) Leo grinned at the Great Hall full of curious eyes and smiles. He sat on the stool waiting to get sorted. He didn't think much of it, okay well not aloud in any case... 'Please put me where I belong, and I really wonder how much I'll get to see of Hogwarts tonight and tomorrow...oohh!! I REALLY like sitting here you know, I love getting to know new people even if they're staring at me, that's even better! And - '

His thoughts continued on and on, since he wasn't supposed to speak loudly while being sorted (it would be rather inappropriate not that Leo would really know). His mind was doing the talking for him instead. And so the young boy waited to get sorted, itching to go sit at either the green, blue, red or yellow table. Just as long as he got to try that food! Thankfully the Hat interrupted all of those thoughts as he started speaking in Leonardo's mind, after which a couple of moments he called out his house. His new family. He felt very determined. Much more so that before.

It was more than Hollyn had ever seen or imagined before. The lights, the people, the colours, the scents. She took it all in gratefully, at peace now that she began to feel like she was at home. For so many years she had been told of Hogwarts' competing schools, but now she had a place she would call her own. She excitedly walked with her classmates between the rows of tables, making their way closer and closer to the sorting hat. The Sorting Hat. The one that would decide her fate. She was calm and confident, whispering under her breath the poems of love and contentment. Whatever the outcome she would be happy, for she was finally being shown her truth path and calling.

"Hollyn Verstand" That was it.

She walked a little closer, looking down at the beaten hat, and caressed its fabric before a Professor excused her. Hollyn took a seat on the stool in front of the school, and waited patiently as the hat was placed on her head. "I trust you" she said, loudly. Many other students seemed to snigger at her remark, but Hollyn smiled widely, for she knew it would make the right choice.

"Blue Sargel," The moment Blue's name dropped from the professor's mouth, her stomach dropped. She wasn't exactly sure why she was suddenly so nervous, whether it was all the people in the great hall, the sandwich she'd eaten earlier making her feel funny, or the fact that this hat was about to sort her into her house, her family, for the next seven years. Gulping, Blue ascended the stone stepped, and gently perched herself on the stool, and waited for the darkness of the hat's hallow to descend. Blue thought of her mother, her father, the rain she loved and missed from England, the feel of paint between her fingers and the smell of the books covering her room at home. She thought, and she hoped.

Diane was nervous, she was excited but most of all she was anxious. She needed to be sorted into the right house, to be surrounded by the right people if she was going to find success at this school. While others students were marvelling at their new surroundings Diane was focused. Sje would have seven years to marvel and explore, now was not the time. The group of first years halted outside the Great hall doors and waited while they were introduced to the school, the houses and talked through what would happen inside. Diane knew it already, her father had given her the 411 of everything she needed to know so there were no nasty surprises when she got there. She had been glad he'd at least done that for her.

The first years were taken down the middle of the hall towards an old hat that Diane knew to be the sorting hat. Supposedly it was on loan from the school in Scotland so it was the same one that sorted her father. It put him into Slytherin would it do the same for her she wondered as the were stopped in front of the stool. Students were called one by one to be sorted and Diane knew she'd be one of the last, finally after two kids with last names of Vetrov and Vetrova, stupid names she thougt. It was her turn, Diane took her seat and the hat was placed on her head.

The time had come for Bryony to leave her home behind to start a new chapter of her life, she didn't know what lay ahead for her and she was excited but also anxious. She was overwhelmed by the sheer amount of people who clambered off the train "are all these people going to the same place as me?" she wondered. She tried to smile at the people who caught her eye but she wasn't confident enough to engage the other soon-to-be students in conversation. Bryony kept her head down all the way up to the castle and into the Great Hall, which was magnificent, she couldn't believe that she would spend the next seven years here in this place. She had no idea what she was in store for, all she was told was to wait for some kind of ceremony to start where she would find out what 'house' she was to be placed in. The concept of different 'houses' baffled her, she hadn't a clue what the different houses were called or what point they served. But she did as she was told and waited for her name to be called. Thankfully, her name was 'Woods' and therefore she would be one of the last people to go up to the front so she had the chance to see how other people reacted.

"Woods, Bryony!"

Sure enough it was her turn to sit on the stool and have the raggedy old hat placed on her head. She placed her hands in her lap and waited for the sorting hat's verdict. She wondered how on earth this hat could read her thoughts and judge her and consequently put her into the 'right' house whatever that meant? She took a deep breath and hoped it would be over soon, this attention made her uncomfortable.

Quique stood motionless in the crowd of future first years, arms folded, looking ahead. He wasn't sure if he was supposed to be nervous, or excited, but currently he was just feeling a little overwhelmed by the noise and excitement. It was not often he had bubbles of excitement within his stomach, but they were there regardless, and he found himself wanting time to pass so he could go and sit at his table. The sense of separating students into houses didn't quite hit him, but that was how the school worked and he would respect it. With a name starting with P, he had a wait, but not as long as others, and looked at the different houses to see which looked the most inviting.

When his name was finally called, he excused his way through the crowd to the steps, before sitting himself on the stool, ready to accept the hat. He waited in silence as the hat was placed on his head, wanting to move this along as quickly as possible, and closed his eyes as the hat slipped over them.

Rebekah's eyes gazed over everything and everyone as she entered the great hall alongside a throng of other children. She eyed up a couple of potential friends from the mass of bodies. You could tell who was like her and who wasn't. They stood out of the crowd. Making her way into the hall she stopped along with everyone else and listened to the professor talk about rules but she'd heard all about them anyway from her older siblings. As names were called out people brushed past her to get to the chair and she suddenly felt the need to get rid of this robe, if she wanted something everyone had touched she would have gone to a second hand shop.

"Smith, Rebekah" her name was called and she walked straight to the chair and sat down, kind of like a queen surveying her people, and she waited with baited breath as to what house she'd be in.

Vee could feel all eyes upon them as she and her fellow first years walked into the great hall. The room was magnificent and she was in awe at the floating candles above their heads. Up ahead of her she could see two of her foster siblings thick as thieves and she felt a pang of jealousy shoot through her. All through the summer they had lived together not once did either of them include her. She watched, glaring as Alina went up and got sorted into Gryffindor. As long as Vee wasn't with her she'd be fine.

"Demonte, Olivia" her name was called and she shuffled up towards the seat and flinched when the hat covered her eyes, plunging the room into darkness. 'please don't let me be in Gryffindor with her.' she thought moodily as she awaited the hat's decision.

Sam could not believe that she was finally, actually, really in this hall. She had been waiting for such a long time and now and she was especially happy to be here with her best friend in the world. Sam and Ben spent all of their time together whenever they could, and so Sam knew that she just had to be sorted with Ben, it was absolutely essential. She couldn't be with Ben all the time if they were in separate houses. They were so used to just walking in and out of each others homes it was almost second nature. Sam looked around, she could feel Ben near her and she reached out to squeeze her friends hand. She knew that they would be okay, because she loved Ben and they were best friends, there's no way the sorting hat would split them up, it just couldn't. She watched as many of the others were sorted, but she knew that he time was coming. Her name was not that far down on the list, she was sure. D, she had always been annoyed at not having a closer letter to Ben's. Still, she was sure there would not be long to wait after her name was called for Ben to join her. She was confident that they would be sorted into the same house and she hoped that it would go down like that, but there was a slight bit of doubt in her mind too. She knew that on the surface they appeared to be the same, but she was also aware that they had a few differences when you tried to see them. Nevertheless, Sam was sure it would all work out in the end.

Sam's name was called and she looked back at Ben. She would be going first. She gave her best friend a tight hug and quietly wished her luck before turned to the stool. Sam took a deep calming breath, she wasn't nervous, but she was a little afraid of being split from Ben. She was sure it would never happen, but you just never know. She smiled at Ben as the hat was placed on her head. "Hi, I expect you understand my feelings on this. Please will you make sure Ben is in the same house as me?" That was her one request of the hat. After all, she and Ben did everything together, it would be hard if they were separated.

Bethany Mushkin was nervous, she was so nervous about what this might lead to, what this might end up, the girl had been waiting for this all of her life, she had been wanting this desiring her life to just be so filled with magic rather than just the boring magic which her parents could do, she wanted her own wand, her own things just everything needed to be perfect, but for Ben she knew this might be difficult. She had a finger in her mouth and was nervously biting the skin around her nails, which wasn't a good habit to have at all but when Ben grew nervous that was literally all she could do, Ben just felt the need to do such a thing and so therefore she generally did. Her mother had frequently tried to teach her against it, used all manner of items but at the end of the day when Ben grew as nervous as she was currently she knew there was no stopping her from doing that. The girl glanced over at Sam and shot her a nervous smile, a smile that just showed her truly afraid of this she was which likely was also shown in how close she was standing to Sam though it was likely a good thing they'd been friends for so long and this was perfectly normal. As soon as they began being walked into the Great Hall, Ben seemed to feel the sweat on her hands growing, she was the first of her family to attend the school, her two older siblings had opted to be homeschooled to help their parents not have to worry too much about paying someone more to look after the young lot that would've been left behind. There were five total children in Ben's family including herself and she was right in the middle, an unfortunate thing she thought indeed, but who really needed family with a best friend. Ben glanced at Sam and felt reassured that she was here, and that together they were facing this.

As the crowd stopped Ben looked to the front where a headmistress stood with a hat, and the hat began singing, making one of her first Hogwarts experiences be her stifling laughter at the hat, but what it did do was make Ben feel just that little bit more at ease with all that was happening around them. There was the fear in her that they'd be split up, after all, Ben thought of herself as nervous and shy, she was only really at ease when around Sam, and Sam was outgoing, she thought the hat would see this and split them up, of course Ben hardly wanted that, but she reserved herself to that possibly happening, it wasn't like she could control it, this was a free thinking magical hat. Ben smiled at Sam as the names began being called, and knew at least that of the two of them, she would not be first. Ben watched with a bright smile as Sam was sorted applauding loudly for her before realising then that she was alone and the nerves returned in full force. Her hands were sweaty, her breathing was quicker and she could feel the beads of sweat all over herself and at long last her name was called. Ben felt that she was shaking, and as the girl made her way up to the stool, she knew that she was shaking, and as Ben sat down she gripped the edge of the stool tightly so that it wouldn't be so apparent. The hat was placed on her head and Ben just focused on the ground in front of her, waiting to hear it's verdict.

Surprise ... It wasn't even what Firmiana was feeling at that moment as she stood at some old castle's entrance hall. She glance at the other children's faces, they were happy ... excited even. For what? Because they were all enrolled in some kind of a loony school? It wasn't surprise she was feeling. Nervousness and anger. Before her eleventh birth day, she has no clue of what this all about, Mia was alright and had not been doing some crazy stuff like controlling vases and burning someone's hair when angry. Then all of a sudden a suppose uncle of her's came and told her that she was a witch and had been accepted into a school for little witches and wizards. By then, Mia knew that she was a goner.

As the heavy doors to the said great hall opened, everyone filed in two straight lines. They walked inside together and applause came briefly, Mia's thinking change from disgust into consideration. It was her first to see some kind of decorations like these in her entire life, candles floating and the ceiling is enchanted by some spell she doesn't want to know. Her anger was replaced by amusement. The group stopped at the front while a beautiful woman came and started to welcome everyone for another school year. Then a weird thing happened after, she called the others one by one, they sat at a stool and an old timely pointy hat was placed at their head. All of a sudden ... it talked.

It repeated like that until it came to her, "Asterion, Firmiana!" The beautiful woman called out and it was like her feet was unmovable and then she realized how life has been tough to her since birth. What would another situation be? Firmiana walked by in front and sat at the stool, she gulped at a point her lips were shaking. The hat was placed a top her head and waited for the worst as Mia closed her eyes tight and kept saying to herself please, be over. Please, be over. She might even faint before the hat could talk.

I walked up to the grand stage as soon as my name, Tyler Dream, was called. I was excited and nervous at the same time as I did not know what to expect. I wasn't so sure I would fit in. When the sorting hat was placed upon my head, I was trembling with fear but it somehow seemed right. It was like I exactly fit in somewhere. I knew that this was my time to shine.

"Wow...." Lance was glad that he had a whole year to wrap his head around this whole magical wizard thing, but nothing could prepare him for walking into the Great Hall for the first time. "I can see way they call it great." he whispered to the person standing next him. His fellow first-year stared back at him like he said something bad about their mother. "Just saying mate." Lance wished his brother was here to see all this. He would have loved it. Out of all his family members, Lance's older brother John was the most stoked about the news there was a wizard in the family. Not as cool as having superpowers, but still very cool he had said. The eleven year old smiled to himself at the memory. He watched as his new classmates began making their way to the front and were sorted to their houses. It was crazy how old hat could be so intimidating. How does that thing work any way? he thought to himself as the Sorting Hat shouted another verdict. "Lewis, Lance" The Headmistress announced his name and suddenly the situation became very real for the young boy. Lance Lewis was a wizard, attending Hogwarts in New Zealand, and sorting was just the first step in what he hoped would be an amazing journey. Lance walked up and sat frozen on the stool, unsure what he was suppose to do next.

Beth was so excited she was practically bouncing out of her shoes. She barely paid any attention to the instructions that the Headmistress was telling them because she already knew what she had to do. Put on the hat. At first all of her older brothers had tried to scare her by telling her she would have to perform a whole bunch of tests, which she was totally prepared for. But her dad ruined their fun by telling her she just had to put on the Sorting Hat and wait for its decision. She had to admit at first she was a lot more excited for the impossible tasks than trying on a hat. But now that she was here in the Great Hall she couldn't help but be excited anyway.

The tiny girl was so eager she had made her way all the way to the front of the group, but was severely disappointed when she realized they were going alphabetically. So even if she was smack dab in the front, she had to wait until everyone was done because her last name started with a Z. Huffing, Bethany stood there waiting until she was the last one and practically bounded towards the stool when her name was finally called. She grinned as she pulled on the hat over her head and looked at its faded insides with excited curiosity as she waited.

Blythe is in awe when she entered the Great Hall. It was full of bright lights, a variety of people and she even spotted some glorious food. She was about to approach the different munches but she stopped herself since it's not what she came here for, well partly. Today is the day where she is finally sorted. When she thought of the different things she could do in the castle her head started spinning from all the exciting imaginations. She can't wait to be sorted.

She may not seem like it but she is actually, a little bit nervous. Her palms are sweaty and she can't help but play with her fingers. The lass decided to go deeper into the crowd and maybe meet some potential friends. However she noticed that whenever she try to approach someone they tend to move away from her. Oh, she forgot, she literally looks like someone who was inspired from the movie "Mean Girls" except she has a charcoal black hair. Wow, just wow. Maybe she should stop embarrassing herself more and focus... to something other than the fact that she was rejected.

Atlast the time has come for the sorting hat to take its rightful place. The rugged Hat seemed surreal when he started talking, spitting out words that Blythe can't quite get. It might be the nerves. As each student went to the top and received their supposed to be Houses, the girl get more anxious as people behind her were saying "Misplaced student" or "Wrongly Sorted" and stuff. Like seriously? Finally, she heard her name "--Mnemosyne" and students started to stare at her as she walked forward. She heard some snickers but 'meh' she has more important things to do. She gulped and tried to calm her nerves with words like 'Pizza, lasagna, cakes, Lechon'. And as she felt the hat sat on her head, Tahi waited for his verdict

I happily made my way in, observing the design and structure of the Great Hall. At the same time I'm anxious because I feel eyes boring in on me, like something is watching...

As I arrived at the top of the stairs, someone passing by felt vaguely familiar. But I also felt that I should focus on the matter at hand, so I waited as the Sorting Hat is put on my head, now relying upon fate's decision...

Frona Dragonslayer still didn't understand why she couldn't be home-schooled. It wasn't like there was anything remotely dragon-related that they could learn in Hogwarts New Zealand after all! She would have never agreed to this if she was the only one attending this year. Thankfully, Alis and Ares were with her so she wouldn't have to suffer through this alone. But seriously, how was she even going to learn tracking here?! Even more so, dragon tracking! She didn't think dragons would even wander this close to a populated area especially that the whole place was warded. It was so frustrating. And yet, there she was, standing with the rest of the first years, awaiting their name to be called for this life-changing event they called sorting. Or as they say.

"Frona Dragonslayer!"

Frona was cut off from her musings when she heard her name being called. She didn't even notice Alis and Ares being sorted already! And so, she calmed herself and cleared her mind, there was no use going on about dragons in her head. It is a family secret after all. Releasing a deep sigh, she walked over to the stool and sat herself upon it, feeling as the sorting hat was placed on her head. She gripped the edges of the stool as she waited for the decision that was to come. Hopefully, it would not make her school life miserable.

When she walked into the Great Hall thoughts swirling through her mind telling her she wasn't a witch even though she knew she was. She snapped out of it when a hat started singing awful singing a that. So she started to pay attention she was glad she wasn't first, but she would be second.

"Meriel Blake" shouted the sorting hat

She slowly walked up putting on a confident face until the hat was placed on her head. She shouldn't have been surprised when it talked in her head because of its singing but she was. It was now time to find where she truly belonged.
