Lily picked up the dropped toy, quickly dusting it off before giving it back to their son, Jacob, who looked on the verge of tears over having dropped the little item. They were preparing for their sons third birthday, and Lily had dragged Justin with her to the nearby muggle supermarket to pick up various items for the little party they were having for him as well a whole host of other items that she believed they needed. While Lily liked shopping in the wizarding world, she sometimes found it difficult to find the products she really needed from the section and had much better luck in muggle places, and while she usually didn't drag Justin along with her, they'd both had the time off and thought it would make a pretty fun experience. The shop keeper smiled down at her son kissing the top of his fondly as she pushed the cart glancing at Justin who seemed to be looking at various ready to go meals, they didn't need anything like that in the house since Lily and Justin both cooked, she liked making food from scratch, it was always a challenge and because she usually opted to eat healthy those kind of items were never either of those things.

Lily pushed the cart forward, stopping at the yogurts which was what she wanted from this aisle, and as soon as she did, she called Justin over so that he could watch their son as she attempted to pick out the right yogurt, she wasn't sure what she wanted, and spent her time picking up different packets and looking at what they were, what the ingredients were, how healthy or unhealthy they appeared to be. It took time, and Lily was sure that Justin was getting pretty bored, she'd already picked out some children's yogurt for Jacob and it was just for her that she was picking, "This one is low everything but I know that the taste isn't great, and these have low fat, but significantly higher sugar than this, although the first has a mixture of flavours and this other one is just plain, which should we get?" she said to him, holding them both up trying to decide between them, she looked round at him, holding the two up and looked at him expecting an answer. She was sure he'd probably just say both and while she always enjoyed that aspect of him, and though she'd in the end pick one, but she wholeheartedly valued his opinion.

Professor Justin Cliffeton had pretty much everything that someone of his age could ask for at this point in their lives. He had a stable job, and a pretty great job at that. He had an amazing girlfriend, that he had been with for a pretty long time and he had never been happier in his whole life then he was when he was with Lily Fossil. She had been the only constant in his life when he had met her and he hadn't been having the best of times when he had met her, but she had pretty much instantly improved his life. He would be forever grateful that he had her in his life.

As the two of them walked through the grocery store on what had become a pretty normal thing for the two of them, he couldn't help but smile at her as he looked at her and took in all of her features and just admired how beautiful she was and how lucky he felt. They had been together for a while now, and he had been thinking a lot lately about how he wanted their relationship to progress and exactly how much he cared about her. Their relationship wasn't exactly normal, and they were pretty weird people to say the least. He chuckled to himself as she rattled on about some weird yoghurt, he wasn't really sure what half of the things that she was mentioning meant.

Justin had been thinking about proposing to Lily for quite a while now, but no matter how much he thought about it he couldn't figure out the best time to do it. He suddenly had a pretty crazy idea, and he knew it was a long shot, but they were weird so it would probably work in his favour. "How about we get married?" Justin asked with a smirk on his face.

Lily glanced at him with the two yogurt selections in her hands, she didn't think he would much care which was which, which they ended up taking, it wasn't like they were restricted with money, so it wasn't like they needed to just take one, but Lily thought it might be a waste, it was why she had turned to him and given him the question. Lily shot Jacob a small smile as she waited for Justin's response, finding herself just staring until he spoke, a question which was not exactly the answer to her question but definitely something that needed answered. She loved Justin, things with him despite some of their earlier trouble had gotten so much better, they had improved, fallen into a steady and easy rhythm which the former ballerina would definitely say that she was keen to continue for the rest of her life, they had done so much together already and she was ready to keep moving her life forward with her life, so she was a little surprised by the question, especially since it didn't really help with her dilemma. The woman nodded her head, "Yeah I'd love to get married, but, the yogurts?" Lily replied holding them up to him.

Perhaps it was just that she'd barely been paying to the question just looking for an answer to her question but she felt that was a more pressing issue that marriage, or becoming engaged, that was what she wanted, she wanted to be married, but right now they had yogurt to decide and she held them out to him again, "I mean, the flavoured yogurt does give variation and variation is always a good thing," Lily continued, "We could get both, but it might be a bit of a waste," Lily contemplated with a small glance between the yogurts in her hand, almost acting as if the earlier question had been as normal a question as the questions she was asking him. Even if they weren't married, she knew they were still a little family, just this made it official, officially a family with married parents and stability. Lily was excited at the thought of being married, but she was also more pressed about the yogurt question.

Justin couldn't understand what was really going on right now, he was a little bit confused to say the least. He had just proposed to her girlfriend - now fiance - and she had said yes, but, nothing was happening? She was more interested in her yoghurt right now then she was in marrying him, apparently, and he wasn't sure why that was but he just shrugged it off. But he couldn't help but frown since she seemed to be completely ignoring him. Maybe it hadn't sunk in that he had proposed to her? That could be it! Maybe he would just have to reiterate what he had said.

Justin looked at the yoghurt and then back at Lily, "Just get whichever yoghurt seems best for you, but can it wait?" He asked with a little bit of impatience in his voice. "Let's get married!" He said with a smile on his face and a bit of enthusiasm in his voice. This definitely wasn't the most traditional way of proposing to anyone, like in any kind of way at all. He shrugged to himself at the thought, he knew that he was doing the right thing, because it didn't matter how you proposed to someone as long as it was cute. He was always cute, though, so it was fine.

Lily let her gaze settled on the two types of yoghurts in her hands, trying to decide between the two, her thoughts of marriage had left her mind, and all her thoughts focused on deciding on the yoghurt, they were magical so the sell by date wasn't as much of a concern to them, but she still didn't want to buy yoghurt that turned out to be a waste. She looked up at him, but he seemed to be glancing between the two that she had selected and then her, it didn't look like he was going to be much use to her, so she continued the internal monologue she was having in deciding on what she wanted. What would be best as the food to have, which would help her keep on the half healthy diet she'd remained on every since leaving Russia. The woman really just wasn't certain, and never before had she really given the kind of yoghurt she wanted so much thought, but generally she was never faced with both options, it seemed like today the supermarket had decided that she needed to make such an annoyingly vital decision, but it was just more annoying than anything.

The shopkeeper looked up at him as he spoke again, a little impatience in his voice and she just raised an eyebrow at him, as if trying to say that it wasn't a decision that could wait, "If we don't get the yogurt now, we'll get to the checkout before I remember, so no it can't wait," the woman said, but she just smiled at what he said, she had agreed to marry him, but in her mind the pressing item was the yogurt, but it seemed like his question was supposed to take precedent, "I already said yes, it's not like we can get married in the yogurt aisle of this supermarket," Lily returned before taking the few steps towards him and placing a kiss on his lips before laughing lightly. It wasn't the most normal proposal but Lily hadn't ever been about grand gestures, she might've been before when she'd been younger but the girl had definitely calmed down since leaving school, being the centre of attention was not what she wanted. It wasn't even like she had many people to invite to a wedding given she had little left in her life in terms of family and friend, "Do you have an opinion on the yogurt, because I think I'll just get the mixed flavours one," she asked one last time before just nodding her head, clearly having made the decision.

Justin couldn't understand why she was making such a big deal about the yoghurt when he had just asked her one of the most important questions of their relationship. Like, you could get yoghurt any time, but there wasn't a lot of opportunities for one to get married. Justin was proposing to her, even if it wasn't really to be considered the most interesting or formal proposal, but it was a proposal nonetheless. She didn't even really seem interested in the matter at hand, really, and it was a little upsetting because Justin was trying to confess his love for her and hopefully marry her.. and she wanted yoghurt.

Sighing slightly, Justin took a look at the yoghurt. He didn't really understand the difference between them and he didn't know how he was supposed to know the difference, either. They all looked the same but he knew that Lily would know best which one to get for their son. "Just get the one that you think is best, they all look exactly the same to me." He said with a slight sigh. It was true, Justin didn't really understand the difference and he highly doubted that he would even if she explained it. When she had chosen and they were moving on, Justin stopped in his tracks, taking in the reality of what had just happened. "We're getting married..." Justin said with a smile on his face.

Lily who had finally decided placed the chosen yogurt in the shopping cart and then just turned to Justin as he spoke, the weight of what they were doing was slowly just pressing itself down upon her, they were actually getting married and the thought of it hadn't caused one bone in her body to even question it, there was nothing in her that didn't want this, didn't want their little family to be a real in writing, name changed little family. She loved Justin after all, and she loved their adopted son, and she was so looking forward to spending countless years with them both in something Lily had never thought she could have. She smiled gratefully at him before putting her arms easily around his neck and kissing his lips, "We're going to get married," she replied, affirming what he was saying and showing his own excitement for it, after all, she wasn't particularly looking forward to the ceremony with few friends and little family but she was definitely looking forward to being married to him, and she was definitely sure this was the right decision and unlike the yogurt it hadn't been a hard one to make.

The former ballerina leaned in after speaking and just kissed him again, just lightly on the lips, she wanted to be married as soon as they could, not wanting a big or elaborate celebration just something simple which suited them much more than anything else did. The woman leaned away from him and then gave his nose a small peck, "Where's my ring?" she asked him obviously joking she didn't really care for a ring but it seemed like the right thing to say after all, were they alone in their home then yeah there would be champagne to celebrate, and many other things, but they were in a supermarket and had errands to finish, so the innocent question would lighten the mood before the continued with what they needed to do. Lily just smiled at him, so lost in the happiness of this moment, which was done in such a normal setting she couldn't have imagined anything better. Lily had stopped being about fan-fair and being the centre of attention years before, this suited her and better it suited them.
