Eoghan had spent a number of afternoons in the student lounge, doing various studeous activities, although whenever anybody else had hosted them theyd always turned into some sort of confession session or kiss contest. He'd decided that even if he wasn't this years social piranha, it couldn't hurt to host his own actual study session with the hope of keeping any stupid student drama at bay.

He'd invited any and all of the current fourth years, since now they shared their lessons with every house it was easier to all be on the same page. Sat at one of the tables that was set up around the room, Eoghan hoped that he wouldn't be the only one to have considered bringing snacks. He only had two arms and he'd already struggled bringing up his books let alone enough food for an entire year group too.

With his DADA textbook out in front of him, he was skimming the information about the unforgivable curses, trying to establish exactly how this professor was intending to demonstrate the spells. He was worried about Lilith too, and was apprehensive that this subject would make things even harder for her at the moment.

Beatrice had been pretty consistent in her study habits and tended to study alone or with one of her roommates. But Eoghan had promoted a group study session, which seemed like fun. She didn't know how much studying would actually happen, but she figured she could help with some questions here and there for other students, as she felt relatively confident on the content for herself. The fourth year arrived and noticed Eoghan alone. She took a seat next to him and pulled some books out of her bag. "What are you studying?" she asked her classmate.

Eoghan didn't know who would turn up to the session, but he was surprised to see Beatrice was the first one to join him. He smiled to his housemate, happy to get the chance to speak to her properly. "Defense Against the Dark Arts," he told her, glancing between her and the textbook in front of him and debating whether his next question was a stupid one. He wasn't entirely sure whether Beatrice was even taking the subject herself, perhaps it would have made him seem rude to him to ask if he essentially threw himself under the bus in the process. "Are you taking it?" was a better place to start.

Beatrice wasn't a fan of all the subjects the school had to offer, but she knew that somehow they were necessary for a well-rounded education. She did worry that they were missing a few subjects here and there like writing and grammar, but she continued to build on those skills through the essays they wrote in class.

She nodded when her classmates asked her about DADA and pulled out her own textbook. "Yeah, I'm trying to keep all the core subjects because they're important, you know?" she said, looking at the page Eoghan was on. "Unforgivable curses," she muttered, unsure why they had to learn about such things at such a young age. But then again, according to some of her History of Magic lessons, there were students in the past their age who had to deal with such things. "I very much dislike some of the stuff we have to study in this class," she said.
