Rosalie walked into the great hall to be sorted. She saw a few people she new, but she was so nervous she decided it would be best not to talk to them. She decided to stand there, shaking, and wait for her name.

"Hale, Rosalie!"

Oh my, it's my turn Rosalie was nervous, but she walked up to the hat like the people before her. She picked the hat up and placed it on her head. I don't know which house I'd be best in. If I had to chose it would be Ravenclaw, but I don't choose. She sat there on the stool waiting for her answer.

"Well, if you chose I think you'd be right. You're very intellectual and clever. Wise beyond your years, even. You belong to RAVENCLAW!"

LeighAnn was so nervous... She listen closely for her name to be called out... And then,

"McClay, LeighAnn." As if she had made it happen or something. At first she thought she had and that she was dream ing. Then it hit her it wasn't a dream... She walked up to the Sorting hat. She was ready. "I hope I am like my mm in Slytherin. I would be so happy. Slytherin is in my blood and is my family." She thought to herself.

"Slytherin may be in your family but it doesn't suit you as well as you might hope. Deep inside you you're more loyal to your friend and kind to others then you'd care to admit. Yes, you belong in HUFFLEPUFF!"

Beau walked confidently into the Great Hall. He had dreamed of this moment for so long and now it was finally here, he had imagined it much bolder though, bigger colours, in all honesty he had imagined the Great Hall to be something beyond imagination to be exactly what its name entailed. Great. As he walked briskly up the aisle he saw the Slytherin table and he knew that was were he belonged, the house was perfect for him in every sense. His whole family had been Slytherins and he knew he just had to join them. He paused when he finally reached the front and the sorting began, Hurry up! he thought, glaring at the lucky kids infront of him who were being sorted first. His mind was beginning to wander, he could see himself, holding the cup for most house points earned, the Slytherin crest emblazed on his chest, so what if he hadn’t rightly won all those points? If he had cheated his way through a couple of tests? If he had won it that’s all that counted.
He smirked as he saw a couple of people being sorted into Hufflepuff, and had to stop himself from actually laughing outloud, he managed this with the thought that he would have to share some lessons with these people. He tried to imagine himself in any other house then Slytherin, he couldn't.
He smiled as he saw Tonni get sorted into Slytherin, hopefully he would be joining her.

“Hurley, Beau.”
His head snapped up as he heard his name being called, this is it, he thought as he walked confidently to the stool. The sorting hat was placed on his head and he sat awaiting You best put me in Slytherin… he thought coldly, That’s the only place I'm worthy of the thought as he awaited the decision.

"Oh best I? Well, every house is more respectable than you will ever be, just as their founders were. Worthy of Slytherin? You're barely worthy to have blood running through your veins from what I can tell. Anyway, if it's Slytherin you want I'll give it to you, despite the fact that I can't see you having near as much success as you hope for. SLYTHERIN!"

"Whatever, I know I'll have the succes I want," Beau said once the hat had given him its decision. He wondered over to the Slytherin house pride streaked over his face as he sat down.

"Lauren Casey!"

Lauren stood up off her chair and began to walk to where the sorting hat was, she was confident about what house she would be in. Lauren noticed Hufflepuffs waiting to see who would be in their house. I feel sorry for anyone who gets put in that house. She thought to herself. Some students where in her way so she pushed passed them and shoved the others who wouldnt move. Lauren sat on the seat and placed the hat on her head. I hope im in Slytherin. She thought to herself as she closed her eyes and waited for the reply.

"You have a little bit in every house in you, I'm not sure where I can see you fitting best. Hmm, you pity Hufflepuffs I see. But I think that house might actually suit you well. Yes, that's it! HUFFLEPUFF!"

Angela was nervous. She knew she had nothing to worry about, but unfortunately, knowing and feeling are two different things. Still, she stood tall and proud like her parents had always taught her, looking straight ahead at the Sorting Hat. She was so busy convincing herself that she had nothing to worry about that she didn't notice that many of her fellow first-years were even more nervous than her!

Finally, her name was called. Angela walked over to where she was now expected to be, only taking her eyes off of the hat long enough to navigate through the crowd. "Thank you, Sir," she murmured to the professor who had called her name. Her accent was quite obvious, but her words were not marred by it. She sat on the stool and waited for the hat to be placed upon her head.

"Please put me somewhere I'll belong, " she pleaded mentally.

"Putting people where they belong is what I do best. Now, as to you... I can see you doing very well in but one house and that house is GRYFFINDOR!"

She was trying to do the deep breathing excersises her mother had taught her to do when she was nervous. She took a deep breath. Breathe in, breathe out. Breathe in, breathe out. Breathe in, breathe out. Breathe in.....

"Elders, Elaine," she heard. She almost choked on the air she was taking in when she heard it. The room started to spin, then stopped.

Laine stepped forward.. Tripping, she caught herself. Laughing, a little, but kept walking. She got to the stool, she stopped, looked at it nervously, and turned to sit down as the Sorting Hat ws placed upon her head.

Anything but Slytherin.. Anything.. I actually like like Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw. I'd do well. Please, Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw.

"No, definitely not Slytherin for you. I think you'd be suited best in RAVENCLAW!"

Thomas entered the Great Hall along with the rest of the unsorted students. As he made his way up the middle of Hall he looked around at the rest of the students, already seated. Thomas began to shake with nerves. Taking a few deep breaths he calmed down.

One by one his fellow unsorted students, became sorted. Then it was his turn,

Smith, Thomas

Upon hearing the man at the front of the Hall call out his name he slowly made his way past the other students to the front of the queue. He sat down on the stool and felt the hat been placed on his head.

Thoughts suddenly started to race through his head, Oh no, where will I be placed. I would so prefer Ravenclaw. But father was in Gryffindor. I'm not mean, I don't want to be in Slytherin. Hufflepuff seems nice. Oh where, oh where he thought. His eyes shut tight in antipication, waiting for the hat to give out his fate.

"Gryffindor or Ravenclaw would both suit you well. I sense a little bit more of Ravenclaw in you, however. Yes, that's it. RAVENCLAW!"

Riley-Mae walked toward the Great hall with all the other unsorted students, not knowing what to expect. As she entered she looked around stunned. Riley-Mae didn't expect so many people to be there. She started to get nervous. She told her self it would be okay. All the students were in the Great Hall now.

As they started calling names she started to get even more nervous. Then she thought to her self....breath, its okay. Just pretend no one is watching. Oh but what if i fall or do something stupid. O h no, I can't do this. This time she took a deep breath. She heard her name get called.Riley-Mae Francis. She slowly started to walk towards the stool.

Riley-Mae sat down and that hat was placed on her head. She thought Slytherin or Griffindor. Slytherin or Griffindor. Slytherin or Griffindor. Slytherin or Griffindor. Slytherin or Griffindor. Slytherin or Griffindor. Slytherin or Griffindor. Slytherin or Griffindor. Either one of them is fine.

"Slytherin or Gryffindor? Yes, those houses can be quite similar. But for you, I think Gryffindor might be most to your liking. Yes, GRYFFINDOR!"

James walked into the great hall and took a seat next to LeighAnn, he knew how much she wanted to be in Slytherin so smiled at her.

"McCotter,James." James stood up when his name was called and he walked to the front nervously, He placed the hat on his head and waited for the reply. James kept thinking about what house he would be in, he didnt really mind that much.

"I can see you having great success in both Slytherin and Gryffindor... May as well be SLYTHERIN then."

Calm, Elizabeth, calm, hold yourself together, Elizabeth Burrows thought as she watched the other students being sorted. She was next, and she tried not to hyperventilate. Her palms were sweaty. Elizabeth wiped them on her robes and looked around nervously. The student before her had just left the stool... it was her turn.

"Burrows, Elizabeth."

Taking a deep breath, Elizabeth walked up to the stool with perfect posture and a smile of false confidence. She perched lightly on the wooden stool, and inhaled deeply once more.

It's okay, you're fine. Whatever house you'll be in will be the best choice.

Elizabeth didn't normally talk to herself, but this moment was an exception. Avoiding the eyes of the other students watching her, she looked at her hands, desperately hoping they wouldn't begin to shake. Her eyes closed as the Sorting Hat was placed upon her head. After this, there was no going back.

Please, please, she pleaded in her mind, not knowing exactly what it was she was begging the Hat. She felt the hat move, and waited for its decision.

"You'd likely do best in Ravenclaw... yes.... but something deep inside me tells me you should be a Gryffindor. Alright, that's it, GRYFFINDOR!"

Excitement flooded through Larissa's body as she walked the length of the great hall and waited in line for her name to be called.

She waited for what seemed like an eternity before she heard "Sedgwick, Larissa" and her heart began to thump, her breathing fast.

The Sorting Hat was lifted from the stool and Larissa took her seat, incredibly aware of the older students staring at her, into her soul. Suddenly all was dark, the sorting hat was on her head and she held her breath in fear-
Then she felt movement on top of her head and a strange voice.

"There's no doubt about you... SLYTHERIN!"

Jake remained on his seat and watched as everyone made their way up to the stands and the faces as they got told their house. "Wilson,Jake."Jake smiled and stood up.

He made his way up to the front of the hall and took a seat oin the stool as the Professor told him to. Jake placed the hat on his head and closed his eyes, he didnt know how a hat could decide his house but didnt question it. Jake waited for the reply of what house he would be in, he guessed that the hat would make the right choice for him.

"You could do well in several places. I think, however, that the house that suits you best is RAVENCLAW!"

Ova listened intently as her friends were sorted one after the other. She was nervous beyond any thing she had experienced before. If one of her brothers had attended Hogwarts previously she would have felt a little easier but this was her first time away from home, away from the family she loved and who adored her. Clutching the long black plait that wound its way over her right shoulder, Ova waited for her name to be called out.

Looking about she saw the various house tables with their banners flying gloriously over them. The students looked friendly enough and some even smiled at her, obviously knowing how exhausting the journey was for first years and how nerve wracking the whole situation of sorting was. The tall man dressed in black at the top of podium held up the ancient looking hat and scanned the parchment in his other hand.

"Shalamar Ovanisse" the voice was loud and clear and Ova shivered at the prospect of now walking up there to sit on the stool. A space was made for her to walk through, she smiled politely registering how some of her friends had gotten into Gryffindor and others had been given Slytherin. On her journey to Hogwarts she had learnt about the houses and subconsciously thought that Ravenclaw was probably best suited to her needs. Though she also knew that her ambition and strength of will and fairness could work just as well in any of the other houses. As she passed Henric she pulled herself up to her full height and swishing her robes out behind her as she sat on the stool Ova called on her ancestors for guidance.

"I know you will see me right and I will not disappoint you no matter which house I am chosen to enter." Ova inhaled deeply and awaited her fate.

"I can only see you in one house and that's the house you know you belong in. RAVENCLAW!"

Eeyan fidgeted on her place as she listened to her friends being sorted..She just hoped that Jason and her would be on the same house as well...Looking around, she beamed as Elizabeth took her seat on the Gryffindor table..She closed her eyes and just listened to her heartbeat going faster..

Clivey,Rhianne Delle!

Eeyan jerked her head up when she heard her name to be called..Steadying herself, she slowly walked up to the platform and took the hat, placed it on her head while sitting down on the stool indicated..I would be okay with any house as long as not Slytherin...Not Slytherin..Might be as well as Gryffindor after Papa or Ravenclaw after Mama...Best house it would be if Jason Petrescu would be in it too..With these thoughts on Eeyan's head, she just waited and almost held her breath as she waited for the hat to spoke out again..

"No, not Slytherin. Not for you, anyway. Hmm, I think you're best suited for the house of GRYFFINDOR!"

Kagyou watched as each of her fellow peers went up to THAT stool that sat at the center of the "stage", placed the ragged-looking hat upon their heads and was released when the Sorting Hat called out their new homes. Silvery eyes trailed upon the outline of the hat, then stared very intently at the moving mouth. She was.. amused. She was surprised at how loud a hat could produce. But probably more amused than surprised.
Heaving a soft sigh, the female turned away and redirected her attention to the other students that would soon be her seniors in a while. People reminded her of her home.

She hated home.

Her attention returned to her as she reviewed the events that happened in her past. Facing the ground, she pursed her lips. The more she remembered, the more the hatred for them returned. And at a bad time.

"Kagyou Wu."

'Surname first, then name. Not the other way.' she thought to herself, as she walked up the steps, taking light breaths as she did so. Her attempts to calm herself within those steps made little success.
Pale skin reached out for the ragged hat as she held it and sat upon the stool. She turned the hat towards her for a moment, and stared at it for a while, at the unmoving mouth, "Hi.", Before turning it back to face the "audience". Carefully, she placed the Sorting Hat upon her head. The hat was big enough to cover her eyes and the first thing the darkness had brought her, was her memories again.

"You seem to be in a shell of sorts, well, you won't be that way for long. I can see a little bit of every house in you, but most of all, HUFFLEPUFF!"

Kida stood in the crowd among many first years rocking back and forth on her heels,
she was very excited that today she would be being sorted into a house, Kida was getting a tad nervous,
and at the same time, Kida was very excited, a grin right across her face,
as she grabbed hold of her Long brown hair, she started to fiddle with it,
running her fingers through it like mad,
her emotions were mixed and confused,
she stood in the crowd, with a glimmer of hope in her eye,
and then the moment came around

"Frost, Kida"

she looked up at the sorting hat firmly grasped in Professor Nicolas King's Hand,
and then down to the 3 legged stool,
she let go of her hair, and fiddled her fingers,
she stood in the crowd glaring contently at the stool,
Kida started to have second thoughts, her nerves became stronger,
but then she urged herself to walk forward,
Kida carefully walked up the stairs to the stool,
quickly she turned around to face the crowd of people,
she took a deep breath and sat down,
'this is it' she said in her mind,
she placed her hands in her lap,
she took one deep breath and allowed the sorting hat to do its job.

"I see you desire Ravenclaw. Yes, you might do well there, but I see even greater success for you in the house of GRYFFINDOR!"

Kida's grin widen across her face, she waited untill the sorting hat was off her head before she could casually walk down to the sea of red, Kida, quickley stood over the seat, and took a seat, she smiled as people patted her on her back welcoming her into Gryffindor house, but Kida's focus was on her cousin Aeon Summers, Kida was still sitting on her seat eager to find out what house he was going to be sorted into.

With a uncaring, slightly bored look in her honey-coloured eyes which defied her emotions, Nellie gazed swiftly aroud the crowded Hall. Several hundred adolescents were sitting at the four grand House tables, some friendly, some indifferent, and some just plain hostile. Rolling her eyes at a pug-nosed, platinum blonde so-and-so perched delicately at the Gryffindor table who was glaring at her as if she loathed her like the plebieans at the very bottom of Scum Valley, she shoved her hands into her deep robes' pockets and sighed almost silently.

It was a cold night, unusual for the season, and the expressive, charmed ceiling showed rain pouring down amongst dim stars; though, obviously, it never even skated the heads of anyone in the Great Hall. The bloody thing was only charmed, after all. It wasn't the real thing.

Suddenly, a stern voice rang out, ''Edwards, Nellica Alice,'' and without a second thought, Nellie stalked towards the Sorting Hat. She had no fear for it, unlike the other squealing idiots down there. It was just a bloody Hat.

... Which could read minds.

Instinctively she glared at it as she whipped it off the seat, swooping it onto her sooty black hair/head, and waited for the Sorting.

"Why are all the Slytherins moody this year? You heard me. SLYTHERIN!"

'Alexa Woods' called Nicholas. Alexa was too busy thinking and everyone was looking around for her and suddenly she reliased she got called she walked up to the 3 legged stool sat down thinking how scared she would and wondering how she would do in all her subjects.

"I can see you having great success in HUFFLEPUFF!"

The table was roaring with applause. And welcomed Alexa among them.

Nicole waited for her name, everyone else took so long to be told their house. She wished that the sorting hat would hurry up and decide.

"Morgan,Nicole." Nicole stood up and made her way to the front of the room, she took a seat on the stool as the Professor told her to and placed the sorting hat on her head. Nicole thought about all the houses, theres Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw,Griffindor and Slytherin. She wouldnt mind any of thouse houses and knew that the sorting hat would pick the only house that would be best for her. Nicole smiled to herself as she waited to hear the reply.

"Hufflepuff!"

Payton sat back and watched everyone get sorted, she seen the faces of those who got the house they wanted and the others that were nearly crying because they were so nervous. Oh c'mon its only a house. She thought to herself as people complained about the house they got put in. Payton thought to herself if she was nervous or not, after a while she smiled and realised that she wasnt.

"Cleeve,Payton." Payton stood up and walked past the others, she sat on the stool and placed the hat on her head. Please put me where i belong and not some other house. Was all that was going through her mind as she waited to be told her house.

"You'd do equally well in both Gryffindor and Slytherin, though you seem to want Slytherin. Yes, alright, SLYTHERIN!"

Payton smiled and stood up from where she was sitting she walked over to her table and smiled at the others as she took a seat. She watched the others and was glad that she hadnt got put into hufflepuff.

The short little faerie-like girl flitted to the back of the line from the entrance hall, waiting excitedly for her name to be called. Her first name soundd like that of a flower child. Autumn. Well, she liked it, and it suited her. Her moods changing invariably as the leaves do in hers and her mother's favorite season. She didn't mind the sweaters and such, as she preferred to be snuggled inside of the clothes. She felt odd in anything that wasn't long sleeved or comfy at the least if she had no other choice.

The black robes that ended at her ankles suited her just fine, hiding her lithe frame and keeping her warm. Beneath these robes she wore her usual dark vest over a grey sweater, and that fell low, nearly hiding the dark skirt she wore over her dark grey leggings and black calf hugging boots.

But her outfit could not be seen as she had her arms wrapped about her waist, keeping the robes closed as she fought the usual desire to flit about. Autumn was constantly in motion, wherther it was flexing her toes or doing a dance to the music that nly she could hear. Seeing her Hyperactiveness, one would think she couldn't concentrate long enough to learna thing. However, once knowing her, you would learn that she adores books, and loves to learn.

One thought occupied her ever changing mind now, as she watched the sorting ceremony take place, wondering when she would be called. The thought in her head, was the Ravenclaw crest being displayed proudly on the black t-shirt of a boy at a nearby table. She wanted a shirt liek that. She wanted to be in the same hous eher mother had been in.

She'd been told the hat knew all and would place her properly, but she wondered if her compassion for her fellow man would tempt him to put her in the Hufflepuff House.

"Gwin, Autumn" the hat called in his slight slur.

"Meep..." she squeaked, being taken by surprise. Her wide eyes flicked up to the front of the line where the students that were getting into the hwole sorting thing turned to look at her.

Autumn seemed to dance as she made her way to the stool, turning to face the Hall, and sat down, taking a quick gulp of air as the Hat was placed on her head. Her earlier thoughts ran through her mind again, even though she tried to hide the thought of Hufflepuff.

"ravenclaw, ravenclaw...." she whispered, closing her chocolate eyes and murmering that word, over and over, as a way of trying to keep herself from fidgeting more than telling the Sorting Hat where to put her, as she knew that couldn't make any difference.

"You would prosper in both Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff. You seem to want Ravenclaw more than nearly anything else, however, so I will give it to you. RAVENCLAW!"

Autumn nearly squealed as the hat was lifted from her head. She didn't bother smoothing the sideways spikes back into place. She was happy she'd been placed where she wanted to be. Restraints forgotten, she hopped from the stool and half-floated to take her place at the table. There was a spot open next to a nice looking girl across from the random boy in the Ravenclaw t-shirt she'd seen when she'd been unsorted. Now she had a place. Now, she was a Ravenclaw. All the dreams and imaginings about learning at Hogwarts had come true. It was both surreal and a wake-up call at once.

She was now and officially a student. And she couldn't wait to go to class and get ehr hands on those books waiting upstairs in her trunk in the dorm.

Aeon was standing in the crowd of unsorted students, He couldn't wait for his turn
He was standing next to his cousin Kida, He could see how excited she was, and he was just as excited.
Aeon watched as more and more people got sorted when he heard Kida's name be called.
He wished her luck as she walked up to get sorted.
Gryffindor! he heard the hat shout and watched as Kida go sit with her house.

"Summers, Aeon" He heard,

Aeon walked swiftly and confidently up the stairs towards to hat.
When he reached the top he glanced back, his blue eyes searching for his cousin among the Gryffindor students.
After a quick wave he sat on the three legged stool.
eagerly waiting for the hat to be rest on his head,
he looked into the crowd and waited.

"You might do well in Hufflepuff... but I feel that your true destiny lies in GRYFFINDOR!"

Justin looks around before sighing and looking back at his hands, which were sitting on his lap.
Once again he sighs, before he feels a slight patting on his back.
He looks up, one of the kids next to him appeared to have been talking to him.
"Are you ready? I sure am, how about you?" he rushed quickly, not making much sense to the already confused Justin.

"Johanson, Justin" is heard, Justin barely noticed, he gets a push forward, stalling for a moment, too shocked to know what he is doing.

Seconds later he realizes, and walks quickly up to the hat.
He sits down with a thud on the stool and the hat is placed softly on his head.
Thoughts pumped through his head, but he didn't know which one to think about.

"You might do well in two houses... I see a little bit more of Godric in you, though. Yes, that's it, GRYFFINDOR!"

"Brookes Angel." Angel looked up fron her book, glasses sliding down her nose slightly. She snapped shut her book, which she had begun to read on the train, and now nearly finished. She quickly put her book in a pocket of her robes, and stood up. She noticed that the rest of the first years were standing up already, which made her feel odd. Still, she was probably the shortest girl there. At 4"8 she was tiny, and most people thought that they could walk all over her. They could dream.

Angel hated her name, what kind of parents named their child Angel? Why not just plain Angela??? Still being unique was what Ange strived for. She had streaked her hair with dark blue dye, which didn't really show up amongst her brown curls. She removed the pencil that was behind her ear, and walked up to the stool. She sat down on the stood, and put the hat on. Her head, smaller than most, made the hat slide down, more than the rest had. It had drooped down, stopping at her ears. It hurt slightly, but Ange had more important things on her mind, like being sorted.

Angel took a deep breath. I'm not brave, nor cunning. But I don't think I would be a good Hufflepuff. she thought to herself, unaware that the sorting hat would know what she was thinking. She fought a strong urge to get up and dance. She had a song stuck in her head, which was terrible if she had to sit still, even for a minute. She bit her lip "Please Ravenclaw, please please PLEASE!" she murmered, scared she would be Slytherin. She closed her eyes, and cringed. What house would she be in? Wherever she was, defined what she would be like in years to come. The future terrified Angel, it shifted and changed with every breath she took.

Please let me be in Ravenclaw, I'll do anything! she thought desperately.

"There's only one place that you belong, and I'm honour bound to put you there. Luckily for you, that house is RAVENCLAW!"

Confident and strong as she usually was, Leah couldn't help feeling a little scared as she gazed around the vast, sombrely lit Great Hall. By any standards, it was grand, and even larger than the main dining hall at the Edwards Manor. Intimidating as the place was, though, it exuded a simple kind of warmth - from everyone except the Slytherins, of course.

Leah spotted her sister, Nellie Edwards, who was staring at the Sorting Hat impassively and even somewhat contemptuously. Leah looked firmly at her until Nellie felt that someone was watching her. Her sooty-black haired sister turned around swiftly, saw Leah waving at her, with a grin on her face and an eyebrow raised, but Nellie merely snickered and turned away.

She wants to learn to grow up, Leah raged inside her mind momentarily, but calmed herself. Sometimes she was such an idiot ... getting worked up at her sister ignoring her! Honestly! It happened all the time!

Suddenly, a stern voice called, ''Edwards, Nellica Alice," and Leah's cold and uncaring sister stalked up to the hat, swung it on her head. And when it yelled, ''Slytherin!'', Nellie only smirked, exuding smugness, and went to sit down at the ominous Slytherin table. Leah rolled her eyes and turned her back firmly on the Slytherins.

She knew what was coming next. They did share the same surname, after all.

''Edwards, Leahnna Sarah!''

Trembling slightly, yet with a sudden confidence, Leah walked quickly to the hat, gave it a small grin, and swung it atop her blonde, straight haired head.

In fact, Leah was so - irrationally - irritated by her sister, she thought, ANything but Slytherin, please, please! even though she'd never had that huge of a problem with any of the Houses.

"No, you don't belong in Slytherin at all, but rather GRYFFINDOR!"
