Slytherin,Practice With a new team and a lot of fresh members, Odette wanted to try to get them in shape as soon as possible. This would be her last chance at winning the Quidditch cup, and she was ready to try her best. She waited at the Quidditch Pitch after informing her teammates of the practice. It wouldn't be the last one, as she knew there was a lot of work to be done. She intended to have more specific practices later to focus on specific flying skills, but for this first one she just wanted to see how everyone worked together. She had been the fellow beater of Liam for a while, but the chasers had gotten new a new arrival, and they had a new keeper. The team had to be used to each other before she could expect them to win, so she intended to work on that today.

The girl waited for her teammates to arrive. As people started appearing on the pitch, she instructed them to do laps for now. She intended to start the practice soon, but needed her teammates warmed up first.

OOCOut of Character:
I intend to open practice very soon because I'm very eager to get acquaintanced with the system! Feel free to post just arrivals for now, though!

Luna was excited for her first practice as a member of the Quidditch team, she hoped they would be able to have a successful year and that she could be a big part in that but it was early and the season hadn't even started. All Luna could do was work hard to impress her captain. She made her way out onto the pitch after getting changed into her practice robes. Odette was waiting on the pitch when Luna arrived so she smiled at her as she approached. "Hey Odette, I just want to say thanks for putting me on the team, I won't let you down,"

Mordred knew that his confidence was not for nothing. He knew that this year he would get on the team, and he was excited to play. Quidditch was his present and his future. He walked on to the pitch and greeted his captain before he got ready to start his laps. He stretched a little before he hopped on his broom and started doing some laps.

It was strange for Leda to be looking around at the team, and for once not feeling as though she was the youngest one in the group. There were definitely a few fresh faces this year, and Leda wondered who would replace her on the pitch if someone actually managed to batter her off. Seeker was a very important position and so it was understandable it was the most targeted. Making her way to the pitch she greeted the students she recognised, hoping that the Beaters were going to do a better job of protecting her than they had done last year.

Odette was starting to prepare for the rest of the practice while her team flew some laps, when one of the new girls came up to her and thanked her. She paused for a moment, wondering what to say. "You shouldn't thank me, thank yourself." She said after a moment. "I only chose you because you were good enough, which you did on your own." She gave her an encouraging smile. "Now you should join your teammates and do some laps, it's important to warm up." She then noticed Leda had arrived, and gestured for her to do the same.

Blake was angry about Quidditch, and it was hard not to show it. This was the second year in a row that he was having to sit on the benches while some dumb girl got all the glory. He cursed his luck for the thousandth time, that he had been landed in a house full of girls who didn't understand sports. The captain was obviously blind too, if she couldn't see his talent. Blake was determined today, to show her he had the stuff, that he should be the one on the team. When the captain gave them instructions Blake was quick to follow, wondering why the other seeker was just standing around. He kicked off and shot into the air without waiting to be asked twice, soaring quickly into a wide lap, eager to show off his skills.

Sapphire was excited for the first practice of the year. She needed to blow off steam, and badly. She rolled her neck as she walked onto the pitch, determination in her step. She nodded to Odette before kicking up and into the air. She was moving quicker than ever this year, weaving in and out of some of the slower people in the air. She wasn't sure if that was because she was faster or if they were just distracted. She didn't really care to find out either. She just needed to do her best this practice and get some of her anger dealt with.

Derek arrived at the pitch with his wand in hand. He greeted a few of the other players, Mordred, Odette and Sapphire. He did head next to Sapphire and flashed the girl a friendly smile, "You ready?" he said with a light expression. Derek himself was pretty ready for this practice. He had missed quidditch and playing with just a few people was not the same as an actual practice. He liked playing, surprised himself with how much quidditch had grown to mean to him since he'd taken up the sport. The teen was pretty eager to get started. He got on his broom and shot up into the air, ready to get a few laps in and get started. He took it slow as he familiarised himself with his broom and flying on this pitch again. There was no sense, to him, in doing too much all at once and not pacing it out a little.

Jasper hurried over to the Quidditch pitch for practice. He was so happy to be on the team, even if he was also a bit annoyed about his alternate position. But he wasn't going to let that get him down. He'd show those other chasers he was just as good as them! The boy ran onto the pitch with his broom in his hand, then scowled in the direction of Blake. The captain told them to get into the air and start doing laps, so Jasper mounted his broom and kicked off. He flew very fast, wanting to be faster and better at this than Blake.

Odette was happy to see her team had arrived and was doing as she had asked. She flew a lap or two with them, then returned to the middle of the pitch where the chest with the Quidditch balls was waiting. She whistled and gestured for her teammates to stop and listen to her. "Alright! Practice is beginning. Mordred, guard the northern hoops. Chasers, try to score against him. You have to fly at least half a lap after attempting to score. Don't forget to pass, but also practice stealing the quaffle! Seekers, you play against each other. And beaters," she glanced at the two other beaters on the team. "Try to hit your teammates. I know it's not fun, but you have to practice this. Try to hit them in places that don't hurt too much, and not with all your force. But I don't want anything else to be used at target practice." She looked at Sapphire for a moment, who'd in the past had a habit of using the goal posts as a target. "But do use common sense. If someone has been hit a few times already, pick a different target." She was done speaking, so released the snitch and the bludgers. Then she threw the quaffle up into the air, and grabbed her bat. Odette flew into the sky with a purpose, and she was delighted to be back in the game, even if it was only a practice.

OOCOut of Character:
I'll post here when I have decided on the end date for the practice. If you haven't RPed arriving yet, that's okay. You can write your character arriving and starting practice in one post.

Derek was pleased when they were able to get started. he listened to the captain's instructions. He caught the ball as it was thrown out and began making his way to the northern hoops. He was so ready to show how good he was at this sport. He loved playing quidditch, and was ready for this practice to go well.

Sapphire came to a stop as Odette grabbed her attention. She listened as the older girl spoke. Alright, she wanted her to hit people? Fine. She'd hit people. She was too frustrated with her life to bother being sympathetic this year. Once Odette was done, Sapphire took off after the nearest bludger. She wished Onyx could be at practice. She needed a good target and her brother was always a good candidate.

Mordred had gotten a few laps in before Odette started to speak, at which he stopped and paid attention. He flew to the Northern hoops prepared for anything his teammates threw at him. he had already proved that he was good enough to be on the team, now it was time for him to prove he was good enough to play.

Jasper was a bit sad that he had to stop flying laps before he could try to race with Blake. He wanted to prove that he was the better player of the two of them. But that would be obvious anyway, if he did his best. He flew to the quaffle, disappointed when the older chaser Derek managed to get it before him. Jasper followed in pursuit, trying to take the quaffle from him as if he was an opposing player. He knocked his shoulder into the older boy as he tried to reach for the quaffle, but only managed to knock his hand against it, unable to get it out of Derek's grip. He frowned, frustrated. He needed that quaffle if he wanted to prove himself.

Odette watched the practice for a moment, but was eager to get in on the action herself as well. She gripped her bat tightly and flew over to a bludger she saw zooming near the south part of the Quidditch pitch. She headed over and hit it hard, it sailed between two players, heading towards Sapphire Michaels, the alternate beater.

@Sapphire Michaels

Derek was a little surprised at the behaviour of one of the other chasers, a younger boy on the team, especially as he was seemingly trying to grab it. Derek kept it close to him, tightening his grip on it and continued to push towards the goals, getting close enough that he launched the ball hard. It went a little wide and missed the hoops. He sighed frustratedly. But got into another position to get the ball back if necessary.

Mordred saw the commotion on the field and how Derek managed to keep the ball from Jasper. It was amazing. He loved watching all the stuff go down on the pitch, but he was preparing for Derek to try and score, and the shot was way off. Mordred flew to catch the quaffle and he threw it back into play!

Jasper watched as Derek attempted to score, selfishly a little glad when he failed. He grabbed the quaffle after Mordred threw it back out, tucking it under his arm for the lap he had to do before trying to score himself.

Sapphire was too busy chasing after the one bludger to notice the other bludger. It rammed into her side with a loud thump. She spun out a little, cussing under her breath. She cussed and shot back after the bludger. It would take more than that to keep her down.

Odette watched and winced in sympathy as her bludger hit the younger beater. She flew over closer to her to see if she was okay, and she didn't seem too hurt. Odette held saw the girl flew after the bludger that had just hit her, and gave her a quick thumbs up. She appreciated that the girl didn't let this get her down for long.

When the practice began properly Blake shot into action, ready to prove himself. He scanned the pitch with his eyes as he flew wide. He was gonna catch the snitch, and show everyone what he was made of, there was no question about that.

Jasper was glad no one seemed to be on his tail yet, and he held the quaffle close to himself as he continued to fly. He didn't pay too much attention to the rest of his team at the moment, more focused on keeping the quaffle in his possession than anything else. Though he did also try to keep an eye on the bludgers.

Mordred saw Jasper catch the quaffle and fly off. He prepared for the boy to try and make a shot on him, and he hoped that he would be unsuccessful.

Odette was happy that practice was going well, and shot Mordred an encouraging smile after he managed to block a goal on his first attempt. Odette was curious to see how her newer players would deal with a bludger, so she flew after one and tried to aim it at the new alternate chaser. But it went off course after she hit it, hitting Derek instead. She hoped he wasn't too badly hurt by it.

@Derek Tahana

((It says I failed but this was the action I got: Your action (hit) was successful!
...but the bludger went off course, and you hit another player, instead!))

Sapphire caught up with the bludger that had hit her quickly, and gave it a good whack. It went for one of the younger kids, Jasper she thought, and she grinned a bit as it hit him. She was a touch concerned, hoping he wasn't hurt, but she didn't really care enough to stop as she looked for the other bludger.

@Jasper Night
