Open after Kris posts with Angel

Josephine was sure that a few years ago, she would have hated the idea of seeing these school events as almost a date night of her own. But when she was chaperoning together with Angel, it was difficult to remember she was here to watch over the kids. She had even put on a dress that rivaled some of the things the girls were wearing, but it wasn't like she was swimming in opportunities to wear her best clothes these days. She made a show of circling the hall a few times, keeping an eye on students, before finally making her way over to Angel, which she had wanted to do from the moment she had stepped into the hall. She touched his arm lightly. "Some of the dancing is pretty sad." She said, glancing over at the dance floor. "I mean, I know they're kids..." She added, "I think they could use a good example." She said, giving him a smile.

Chaperoning was never exactly Angel's first choice to spend an evening, but now it was an excuse to spend time at school events with Josephine, so he wasn't complaining. They had tried to set up at least the pretense of keeping an eye on things for the start of the dance, which mostly resulted in Angel taking up by the punch bowl and trying to look foreboding enough to stop any attempts to tamper it, but really he was watching Josephine skirt the room until they'd felt they'd put on enough of an attempt at being responsible.

Angel smiled as she joined him, resisting the urge to rest a hand on her lower back as they watched the dance floor and laughed at her assessment. He certainly didn't need any more encouragement, stepping out towards the dance floor. "I think we could get away with that. In the name of education, of course," Angel said, holding his hand out to her.

Josephine smiled as Angel went along with her, not that she had expected anything else. It was thrilling to be with him, even at a dance for teenagers. She took his hand, meeting his eyes as she squeezed it briefly. "Excellent." She told him, glad she had put on a dress that would look amazing as she danced. "But if Professor Alicastell asks for an explanation, you can be the one to tell her that." She added with a slight, teasing grin. Then she followed him to the dance floor, stopping in a place that was pretty much in the center. If they were going to show the kids how it was done, they had to be visible. Josephine pushed back her hair, then placed her other hand on Angel's shoulder. She started to move to the music, meeting his gaze once again and holding it.

Angel knew they had to at least pretend to be responsible tonight, plausible deniability and all that, so he did his best to keep a respectable distance as he gently pulled Josephine closer. He laughed as she mentioned Professor Alicastell, his eyes briefly glancing around the hall to see if he could spot her. "Worth it," He said softly to her ear, resting a hand on her waist as she placed hers on his shoulder. Dancing had always been something Angel enjoyed, a wordless communication of things, and he was grateful that perhaps it was a little easier to convey things to Josephine that he was less equipped to say out loud. Angel knew this was a playful thing, a chance to show up their students a bit, but he kept his eyes trained on hers, shoulder and hand hot where ever they were touching and it was a little hard to think about much else but her, even when Angel was pretty sure he spotted a ghost floating through the crowd as well.

Any thought of chaperoning or their boss was fading away from Josephine's mind quickly as the two started to dance. She laughed softly as Angel whispered in her ear, then started moving with him. Her hand was firm on his shoulder, and she focused on how he was keeping his hand steady on her waist. Their gazes were locked, and they moved together as if they had practiced many times. Josephine soon forgot where they were, and what their pretense of this had been. She only focused on Angel, and the way dancing with him made her heart flutter in her chest. There was a vague awareness of all the students around them, the gossip undoubtedly starting the longer they danced like this. But Josephine didn't care about any of that, not right now. It was taking all her self restraint not to end the dancing by kissing Angel right here and now, but she had enough of a presence of mind not to do that. But she didn't take her eyes from his until the music changed, snapping her out of the moment a little. She glanced around, a small smile on her face. "Do you think we've been a good example so far?" She asked Angel quietly as she turned her gaze back to him.
