Second Years, Lesson Five

"Morning, everyone," Gabrielle greeted, giving a tight smile to the students as they took their seats. "Now, we've pretty much covered the semester's work, so I won't bore you with more lectures. Instead, I'm going to give you a bit of an 'assignment'." She gave quotation marks with her fingers at that, shaking her head. "Rather than just tell you to revise. Which is possibly more helpful, but boring. And I might as well have not shown up if that was the case. So, what I want you to do this lesson is relax, enjoy some snacks, and write me a small paragraph about someone who you find inspiring. Just pretend you're back in second grade, at least if you went to a muggle school that is," she joked. "Could be anyone. You could talk about an ancient ruler, you could talk about the Minister of Magic, or you could talk about your parents. I just want to know about someone who inspires you and one reason why. Your own view of history is just as important as the dates and events we learn about in class. What makes you you is your own history, after all."

Gabrielle picked up her cup of tea, gesturing vaguely at the students. It was a bit of a test of their writing and ability to explain themselves in the written word, but she didn't want to make that too obvious. "Have some fun with it. And if you just want to have a nap, that's fine as long as you at least pretend to look like you're meditating." She smirked before sliding off the desk to go back to her seat and read over some assignments. "Any questions, I'll be here."

Homework
RP the lesson. Extra credit for doing the homework. Yes it's cheesy, but it can be a nice little characterization moment. If you use any sources, please cite them!
Because I'm late in posting I will also accept essentially an attendance post as your RP. Apologies for the delay and thank you kindly for your patience and understanding at this time!

Huw arrived for History of Magic class and got started writing his essay on a famous musician who had lived 100 years ago the he found inspiring. At the end of the lesson, Huw packed up and left the classroom.

Evan hurried into the History of Magic Classroom, worried that he was late, again (but not for this class). He breathed a sigh of relief as apparently Professor Moncrieffe was late as well. He sat in his seat and smiled when the Professor showed up and gave them an easy day. He began writing a small paragraph about who inspired him: his younger brother.

My younger brother inspires me to be better every day. We write back and forth with my owl Hades, and it is awesome to see how amazed he is at everything I can do with magic. We think Aegis (my brother) has magic too, and he'll be able to come to Hogwarts next year. Aegis inspires me to be a better person, because he is such a good person himself. And he's definitely studious, like me, so hopefully he'll be a Ravenclaw like me!

Nia sat down in the History of Magic classroom, ready for another lecture but to her surprise it wasn't much of a one. The Professor gave them an essay to write and after considering for a bit who to write it on Mania picked the professor, just because she was kind of her favourite. Besides there weren't many people she'd write about anyways, not after last summer. The Gryffindor was DEFINITELY NOT looking to impress said Professor for some extra points at this time.

My Favourite Professor
Today I chose to write about my favourite professor because well they inspired me to get a better grade in the subject they teach. As a first year I didn't have too high of expectations about the History of Magic, more or less because I knew sitting through boring, mind and limb numbing lecture's was a far cry from my strength's but when I first attended your class I was pleasantly surprised. You Professor brought some spunk into the boring lectures and that inspired me to stay active in the lessons and do the work and I actually got a good grade on it so thank you.

(OOC: LOL enjoy a bit of flattery <3)

Christa wasn’t sure what to do about the assignment, she’d never really given it too much thought. She didn’t know much about history really, definitely not the kind of history that the professor would probably be familiar with, so she spent all class trying to think about what she would do.

Finley wrote about his dad, because it made the most sense to him. He didn't really know who else to write about and honestly of anyone he knew it was definitely his dad that inspired him the most out of anyway, maybe Aunt Sapphire, but he didn't want to write about her because he knew somehow she would get her hands on whatever he wrote, she was just that type of person honestly, and he wasn't about to start trying to tempt fate.
