Although last year hadn't gone how she hoped, Lucy was buzzing with excitement for the new Quidditch season to get underway. With some hard work and an A+ team, she knew this could be Ravenclaw's year, and it all started with finding the team. She bounced on the balls of her feet with excitement as the returning team and new hopefuls arrived at the pitch, mind already racing with all the possibilities for the year ahead.

Once enough people had gathered, Lucy cleared her throat for attention. "Hiiiii everyone!" She called out in delight, waving her arms. "I'm Lucy Holland, and this is my co-captain Lucy Montague, and we're looking for the best of the best! Ravenclaw have what it takes to be champions, we know it, and it all starts with the awesome team we find today! Quidditch is hard work but it's also a lot of fun, and we can't wait to see how you play! When it's your turn just step forward and let us know your name and what position you're trying out for, and then show us what you've got!"

OOCOut of Character:
Returning team members must post to keep their spot on the team. Alternates must try out again!

First years are not allowed to try out unless there are still spaces that need to be filled. If you have a first year that's interested shoot us a PM.

Violet enjoyed playing quidditch and she was keen for another year of it in hopes that they would win. She made her way to the tryouts with her broom in hand and gathered around as Lucy spoke to them all. There were only alternate positions available to try out for and Violet hoped that whoever managed to get onto the team would be good. She really wanted to see Ravenclaw have another victory before she left. As the tryouts begun, Violet headed over to the hoops, ready to block shots of those that were trying out and also keen to get some practice in. She felt satisfied at the end of the tryouts and headed back to her dormitory to clean up afterwards.

Magne reached the quidditch pitch eager. He was very ready for another season of quidditch and hoped they'd bring a victory. He nodded at what was said and then shot up into the air when he could.

Lilith was quite happy and relieved that her spot in the team was now permanent and she didn't have to try out again. As she arrived to the pitch she gave a smile to the captains, "hi" she said before glancing around at the rest of the team. As Lucy explained the gist of things the seeker gave a small nod and after the captain was done she mounted her broom and got to looking for the snitch. Try outs were now especially just an extra chance to practice really. Once they were done she bid her goodbyes before making her way back to the castle, excited for the upcoming season.

Theo had been the alternate the last couple of years, and in all honesty, he didn't mind it one bit. At least he got to play somewhat when he could. However, that meant he had to try out every year until he got on the starting lineup, which was a bit annoying, but what could he do? The Ravenclaw boy made his way to the Quidditch pitch, listening to one of the Lucy's before it was their turn to fly up and try out. Theo stepped forward with a grin. "Theo, trying out for chaser!" Theodore says with a grin before flying up with the others.

When Theo flew up in the air, he managed to get in the air, and he tagged along with the other chasers, doing some passes as well as a couple of steals. He had managed to do some practising during his break. He had also managed to get a few scores in, quite proud he had managed to do so anyway, with a few of his shots blocked too. It wasn't long before the tryout had come to an end, and he was back on the ground. Theo then grinned at the two girls and said a quick thanks to them.

Even though Cyrus had had a spot on the team for a while now, he still felt vaguely like an impostor when he didn't have to try out. He instead assisted, flying around and passing the quaffle to anyone who was trying out as chaser.

After the game last year with Heta vs Brotherhood, Rose thought it would be more fun than she'd originally believed to be a Beater, smacking the bludgers at the other players. Sure, perhaps she didn't have the muscles nor strength for it yet, but she was only twelve and she had plenty of time to learn. "Hello," she smiled at the Captain that made the announcement, hoping she didn't think she was a first year. "My name is Rosé Glass, please can I try out for Beater?" Obviously, she'd never be as good as Susie, or any of the others that had been playing for years who she'd now watched in the air multiple times. After writing the post for the school paper in her first semester, she'd paid particular attention to the different roles, although at that moment she hadn't realised she might one day be going for one herself.

Mounting her broom and taking hold of a bat, the second year flew into the air to get ready. She knew the bludgers in the Heta game hadn't been real bludgers, but how different could it possibly be? She found out quite quickly things were very different. After the first swing, not only did she miss, the weight of the bat felt different in her arms. How did the other players keep this up for an entire match? Steading herself, Rose went off to find another one, careful not to get in the way of the other players on the field. The second time, she did manage to hit a bludger but it was way way heavier to do so than it had been at their club event. So much so, the second year gave an audible groan as she felt as though she'd just bruised her shoulder, and that before she'd even been hit.

There was one unfortunate moment where she did get hit, the bludger smacking her in the back and it almost took the wind out of her lungs. All she was certain of, was that if she did somehow manage to get on the team, she was going to need a lot of training. She tried not to show it on her face however, not wanting it to affect the Captain's choice, and gingerly she made it back down to the ground after hitting a few more bludgers. She was sure that almost everyone had managed to avoid them, but she'd done what she could. She thanked the captain, going to sit on her own to watch the rest of the tryouts and massage her shoulder, feeling as though she wasn't quite strong enough to be here.

Magdalene was frustrated that she had to keep trying out for her alternate position, as she just wanted to make it on the team permanently. She hoped a spot would open next year for beater, and she wanted to make sure the captains saw she had what it took. As she listened to Lucy's speech, she waited her turn, seeing that there were others trying out for beater. She watched them carefully, trying to see if they were any good.

When it was her turn, the Ravenclaw turned towards the captains. "Maggie Grey, trying out for beater," she said, wanting to add "again" but not wanting to be seen as rude, even if she just meant it as fact. Maggie kicked off the ground with her bat in hand and looked around for a bludger. They were a bit away from her so she zoomed off in their direction, making contact with her first hitting attempt but watched as it sailed into no one. Grimacing, she went after another one, missing the hit entirely. The Ravenclaw took a beat, trying to really focus. She knew she could do this and had done much better in practices. Maggie went after another bludger and watched as she hit it, hard, into an unsuspecting person who was also trying out. She managed to successfully make contact with about 4 more bludgers during her tryout phase, 3 of which hit an actual person and only one of which went sailing into the stands. She landed on the ground and gave the captains a smile, hoping that her display was enough to keep her spot as an alternate.

Audrey was a mix of emotions returning to the school this year but the one constant she had, for better or for worse, was Quidditch. She'd shockingly had positive acknowledgement from her father when she'd off-hand mentioned she was looking to start talking to some quidditch teams to try and play professionally after graduation. Of course, that was what it took to get praise, not any of her other hard work. She didn't blame the sport itself, though, and was quick to take to the skies and hit bludgers around, directing them towards the beater hopefuls to test their reflexes and aim. Her parents may have been proud, finally, that she was considering following in their footsteps but Audrey wasn't going to try and shut down her successors. If she was going to leave a trace to ensure she wasn't forgotten, let it be a strong confident cartel of beaters, encouraged not demeaned.

Last call for Ravenclaw tryouts!

Hinemoa knew it was probably her mum's name that had gotten her special permission to try out for the Quidditch team as a first year, but she knew she'd be able to prove she was more than qualified regardless. She had grown up playing Quidditch with her whānau her whole life, (though Rāwhiti wasn't all that interested in playing anymore, for reasons she didn't quite understand) and she was confident she had plenty of skills to bring to the team. She had insisted Mum not come watch, in case her presence made the captains feel pressured in any way. Hinemoa had worked hard, and she was determined to earn her spot on the team, entirely on her own skill.

It was with a broad grin that she stepped forwards when her turn came, broom gripped tight in her hands. "Hinemoa Josephs, trying out for Seeker. I can play any position though, if you need me to, I just don't really like Keeper, but I'll play it if you need!" She was rambling a bit, but it was hard not to with the excitement. Trying to calm her nerves, she mounted her broom and kicked off, soaring high into the air. The pitch at Hogwarts was so big from up here, bigger than it had ever felt in the stands, and Hinemoa took a moment to get her bearings before beginning the search for the snitch. It was a much wider space to search than she was used to, and it was a little embarrassing how long it was taking her. Finally she sighted the snitch though, blending in frustratingly well against a Hufflepuff banner, and she pressed herself to her broom and shot towards it. The ball flitted away and she gave chase, teeth gritted as she wrangled her broom after the fast-moving snitch. (She was starting to think school snitches were tougher than the ones at home too.) Eventually though she was able to pull around a sharp corner directly into its way, catching the ball tight in her hand. "GOT IT!" She called out, waving cheerfully with the snitch in her grip. Triumphant, Hinemoa returned to the ground and thanked the captains, pleased with how well she had done in the tryout.
