Juniper was pretty excited about her first practice as captain. The majority of their team was new, but she wasn't going to let that stop them from kicking Hufflepuff's butt during the first game. If she could just hit as many bludgers as possible, there was a strong possibility they could win. Once everyone arrived on the field and was dressed, Juniper cleared her throat, trying to think of something motivational to say. "Alright, team. We've got a lot of ground to cover and not a ton of time. I want you to be aggressive, even in practice, but also precise. If you make a mistake, fix it. If you need extra help outside of practice, ask. Lastly, at the end of practice, Sawyer has offered to let the player who catches or hits the most things or whatever pie him in the face." She winked at the boy, knowing he would likely protest but hoped it would at least motivate the team. "With that being said, we're gonna split up into two teams and play against each other. I'm giving the newer folks more of an advantage, but we may switch up things as practice goes on. Stay on your toes!" With that, the captain released all the balls in the air, tossing up the quaffle for grabs. Juniper kicked off the ground and swirled her bat in her hand as she went after a bludger.

Nick honestly couldn't believe that he had made it in the Quidditch team, it was a pretty huge step for him as he really didn't expect him to be the best chaser on the team. However, Nick listened to Juniper's speech and loudly chuckled when she said that one of them will be able to pie him in the face. And when he memorized his team, before mounting the broom, he hit Sawyer on the shoulder: "Keep your eyes wide open," he lightly joked and then flew up. He took the quaffle once it was in the game and looked around to see if he was able to make it through the hoop or he would have to pass the ball. @Sawyer Carnahan
 
Branson chased after the chaser on the other team. He liked that they'd been split like this, it was far more fun. He would try and take the quaffle from the new chaser.
 
Valeria had not expected to get on to the team but she was. She arrived at the pitch excitedly, wearing a cute little quidditch number. She looked to the captain and grinned happily. She thought the Sawyer boy was cute, even if he was older. "Good luck Xiuying!" she said excited as she put on the second team. She got up into the air and was hoping to get an opportunity to hit someone with a bludger.
 
Juniper tried to catch up to the bludger but fell short as it swerved in another direction. She kept her eye on the team and was glad to see one of their new players claim the quaffle first.
 
It felt good to be back on the pitch and Sawyer was keen to see Captain Juniper in action. He liked to think he had a healthy respect for her already, knowing full well how easily she could pummel him, but it was different seeing her as an authority for the team too. It was also nice seeing a bunch of new faces on the pitch, including his roommate, and Sawyer laughed as Niklaus teased him as they got into the air. "You bet," he said with a mock salute to his roommate, moving to guard the hoops, ready for when Niklaus brought the quaffle his way.
 
Finn had felt sick to his stomach when the team lineup was announced. He knew trying out for the team was a mistake, and now somehow someone had taken it a step further and put him on the starting lineup. Ravenclaw was going to lose the cup, and it was all going to be his fault. He could barely pay attention as Juniper gave them instructions, stomach roiling with fear. As the practice began he kicked off into the air and started looking for a Bludger, doing his best to keep his broom from wobbling too much.
 
Rule 2a

Branson spotted an opportunity and flew in and took the ball from the new chaser, turning sharply and heading back towards the other hoops.
 
Valeria tried to hit a bludger when one came towards her and ended up missing entirely and felt rather annoyed but she knew she wouldn't succeed a lot of the time.
 
Xiuying couldn't believe that she had officially made it onto the team, and was quite proud of herself. She sent a thumbs up of appreciation to Valeria as she wished Xiuying good luck. "You too!" Xiuying then took off into the air, a bit annoyed that she had missed the quaffle, but followed close behind one of the new chasers on the team. But then noticed Branson had then caught the quaffle and Xiuying then followed him closely
 
Branson threw the ball when he was close enough and was exceedingly frustrated with himself when he missed. But he just flew back out and was ready to try and take the ball again and have another go.
 
Valeria continued to look for bludger to hit but when she got close to one she tried to swing for it and missed.
 
Flying on, Finn was pleased that it was easier this year than it had been in the past to keep his broom steady. He couldn't catch up with any of the bludgers though, and he felt his shoulders hunching in embarrassment, already preparing himself for Juniper to explain she had changed her mind and kick him off the team.
 
Axel was so excited for practice that he had not slept well the night before, but he made sure he was on time for his first practice. He yawned as he listened to the instructions from the captain. He saw that he was on her team for the game and knew he had to bring his a-game. Axel flew up towards the hoops and got ready to keep.
 
Sawyer wasn't surprised to see Branson was able to intercept Niklaus before he reached his hoops, though it didn't pay off when the chaser's first shot missed. It just meant Sawyer would need to be back on guard for when the quaffle came back his way.
 
Wobbling his way over to a bludger Finn swung, pleasantly surprised when his bat made contact and outright shocked when he actually managed to hit his target, the Seeker on the other team. Pleasantly surprised with himself, he finally started to relax a little. Maybe this wouldn't be a total disaster.

Juniper was keeping an eye on things and saw Finn make contact. She cheered, trying to be supportive through her captain role, and hoped she'd get a hit in soon, as well.
 
Sawyer wasn't surprised to see the bludgers were already starting to fly, though it was surprising to see that Finn was the one making the hit. Juniper had a lot on her plate running practice while playing, but Sawyer didn't doubt he'd still need to keep an eye out for bludgers from her.
 
Hamish was nervous about being the main Seeker, and was determined to do more practice. He needed to work on a lot of things. He wasn't overly motivated by the thought of doing anything to Sawyer, but the pressure to do well was motivation enough. He shot to the sky and began his search.
 
Valerius had been pleasantly surprised when he made it as an alternate seeker for the other team. His father was sure to be pleased. He was going to have to do well. He raised a brow as the captain spoke of winning something, though he wasn't very pleased with the prize. What a silly thing. He was going to try to win it, none-the-less. If only for the bragging rights. He got into the air with the others and began his search. He wasn't very far in when he felt a bludger slam into him. He cried out in pain, stopping for a brief moment to try and catch his breath before carrying on.

Branson was able ot quickly grab the ball again and would be glad for this second opportunity to score.
 
Valeria wasn't having any luck to so far, since her last failed hit she hadn't spotted any bludgers at all. And whenever she headed to one, it was either knocked in a different direction or going wide.
 
Still reeling from his unexpected success Finn flew on, wondering if some of Odette's training was finally starting to work after all.
 
Trying to shake off the pain, Valerius returned to his search. He was startled to spot a glint of gold, and immediately he raced after it. To his delight, he soon surfaced again with the golden snitch in his hand. He held it up to the captain to show her before releasing it again and waiting a moment for it to disappear before starting his search over again.
