Quidditch Game: Ravenclaw vs Ilvermorny

Monday searched the pitch and found a bludger. He swung and whacked it toward @Zoey Hawkins, which made a direct hit.

Larissa winced as their fill in for the seeker was hit again.

Still no snitch appeared and Zoey got hit a second time with a bludger. She had to be even faster now.

Audrey wasn't able to make it a third time.

Melrose flinched as Zoey took another bludger, feeling the pressure as he approached the hoops. He definitely should have passed to Hadrian he realized belatedly as his shot fell short again.

Zoey still couldn't find it anywhere.

Lucy seized the quaffle as it was thrown back into play, pleased to see the shot not go through. She zoomed to the opposite side of the pitch. She was starting to get tired, she noted, but she still had enough left in her to keep at the game.

Audrey aimed a shot at the seeker, wondering if maybe they could make the Ilvermorny team have to forfeit if the snitch didn't show up, but it hit one of their beaters @Larissa Baros instead.

Michael gave a tired cheer on to Lucy, impressed by her stamina.

Zoey kept flying.

Monday continued on his search for a bludger to hit.

Larissa felt another blow to her shoulder, from a bludger. Dang, this was not going to go well.

Lucy approached the hoops, but her pacing wasn't quite right. The shot was blocked, leaving Lucy a little frustrated.

Audrey looked around for another bludger, now more determined. If the seekers weren't going to end this game, then she would.

Hadrian nervously took up the quaffle as Pearl threw it back out. With Zoey playing seeker, it was up to him and Melrose to keep the scoreboard ticking over for Ilvermorny. He felt a weird sense of seniority because of it.

Zoey was starting to think there was no snitch at all.

Michael groaned sympathetically as Lucy's shot didn't make it. If anything, this was a good exercise in stamina.

Monday wondered where that snitch was at.

Larissa continued her flight.

Audrey raced down the pitch in search of a bludger.

Hadrian headed towards the hoops and tossed the quaffle, but it was a kind of tired half-hearted throw that was very easily blocked.

Michael would have been so embarrassed if he'd missed that, but thankfully he didn't. He tossed the quaffle back towards his team.

Melrose tried to support Hadrian as he took the quaffle but it was hard not to feel like even his presence after all those missed goals was going to make things worse. He must have jinxed them both with the thought and Melrose sighed as they missed another chance on goal.

Zoey was starting to get a headache after searching for so long. She almost didn't trust her vision when she finally saw a flash of gold near the ground. She hesitated but only for a moment before diving quickly hoping she could be fast enough before the other team's seeker noticed. The wind whipped at her hair as she chased the snitch that had been avoiding her all day. Her arm ached from her previous bludger hits as she finally reached out and grabbed the snitch out of the air. In an instant she felt a wave of relief and it was quickly followed by a wave of exhaustion. They had won. Even with their bare bones team. She was almost too tired to smile but she felt a small grin pull at the corners of her mouth.

Michael was a little disappointed they hadn't won the game, but he couldn't really fault Ilvermorny. Their captain had put herself on the line to chase the snitch when they were one player down and had really fought for it. It had been a very impressive showing. He was pretty proud of his team, though, and he didn't think any of them could feel bad about their performance. Well, he could, but that was a different matter. Besides, they still had the Quidditch Cup in their possession, so they could still hold their heads high. He lifted his tired arms to clap for the Ilvermorny players, before heading back to his team, hoping none of them were too upset.
