Melrose felt ill as he saw Nabi knocked out of the game, more so than he had every time Ravenclaw kept scoring. Zoey playing seeker was weird, and he realized he couldn't lurk around the pitch when they were a chaser down, flying forward to catch the quaffle from Pearl when she managed to save a shot even after taking a bludger herself. Everyone else was playing their butts off, Melrose needed to try harder.
With a player down Rory was hoping Ravenclaw would have a better chance especially with a non-seeker playing the position. Once the game resumed Rory began to follow the Ilvermorny player in possession of the quaffle.
Melrose looked for Hadrian but was startled when he realized he had one of the New Zealand chasers on his tail already. Trying to be bold, Melrose aimed for the hoops, if only so he wouldn't have to fend off any other chasers for possession. It was moot when the shot was blocked and Melrose's shoulders dropped.
When the Ilvermorny chaser missed his shot and the quaffle was thrown back into play Rory grabbed it and began to fly up the pitch towards the other hoops.
Melrose tried to stick close to the Kiwi chaser as he took the quaffle, grimacing as he managed to score against Pearl. Trying to remind himself the game wasn't over and they were still a goal ahead, Melrose nervously took the quaffle again, looking for Hadrian so he'd have some back up.
Michael grinned as he saw Rory score, but his grin faded as Savannah took a hit. He tried to focus back on the quaffle, though, not wanting to let the side down much more.
Melrose tried to feint as he approached the hoops, aiming a pass to Hadrian, but either the keeper was quicker than that or Melrose was just easy to read as his shot he took instead was blocked again and Melrose had to remind himself to breathe. They were still a goal ahead, Zoey would get the snitch soon. He hoped.
Lucy was glad Ravenclaw had gotten another one in. She dove to retrieve the quaffle as it was thrown back into play, flying off in the opposite direction to try once more to score.
