Gryffindor,Ravenclaw
Reeve nearly slipped as he stepped onto the grass. Thankfully, the players would be in the air and it wouldn't impact them too much but the previous evening's rain had done a number to the pitch, making it muddy and slippery. The referee cast a spell to help prevent another slip and set about his work. Today, the reigning champions, the Gryffindors, would face off against the Ravenclaw team. As he had come to expect from the Hogwarts students, it was sure to be a great game.

Reeve finished setting up the pitch with some school brooms and the game chest, and he then went about casting spells to dry off the benches. Finally, he was done and all that was left to do was wait for the captains to produce their line-ups.

Lilith was buzzing with nerves and excitement as she walked to the quidditch pitch for the first game in the season. She had a good feeling about it, she had a feeling it was going to go okay and she might actually do well. Whatever happened she didn't mind it either way though, it was a game and she enjoyed playing with her team. Settling at the pitch she waited for the captains to speak up, mentally prepping to be personally terrorized by the snitch.

Teddy decided that this was the most important game to date, his first as solo captain, and one they had to win if they wanted any hope of winning the championship. Plus he was going up against two of his best friends and the Gryffindor's competitiveness made him dead set that losing wasn't an option, and given previous mistakes, neither was cheating. He walked out onto the pitch, it looked slippery but for some reason he wasn't slipping which had to be a sign of good things to come. He gathered his team for a huddle. "Alright Gryffindors, this is where the hard work you've all put into training comes in to play. Let's get out there and defend our title as the best team at Hogwarts." Teddy put one arm in and expected everyone to join him, "GO GRYFFINDOR!" He said then broke away and looked at giving Reeve Gryffindor's final lineup.

Victoria decided that no matter how nervous she was, she was going to try her best to not let it show. There was no way she was going to be ‘that shaky first year’. No. She was going to show confidence. Determination. To give it her all. That was what was going to happen today. Not her being written off because she was young and undoubtedly a little unexperienced. Vic held her chin up as she entered the pitch and quickly huddled together with the rest of the team. She put her hand in when Teddy did so and joined in with the yell, ready to start.

Lucy felt like she had to win this. It was the fiftieth year, but also she wanted to shove it in Teddy's face. Lucy wasn't usually competitive but something about it being her last year had sent her over the edge. "Alright, team! This is our chance to show everyone what we're made of! We practiced hard, not it's time to just go for gold! Literally, in Lilith's case. Beaters, you know what to do. Chasers - get the ball and don't let the opposing team have it. Violet - stop 'em with all you've got. Alright, team! Go Ravenclaw!"

Aroha was feeling the pressure, but she was thriving under it. Something was almost buzzing under her skin, she was so excited. She stood on the pitch, ready to get going. Practice had been a mixed bag in the end. Aroha didn't know how Ravenclaw's practice had gotten on, but the snitch had been a bit of a problem at Gryffindor's. Oh well. Aroha was ready to get serious and catch it today. No sweat. Right?

Ivy had been lying in bed part of the night listening to the rain lash against the window and hoping they the weather witch at the prophet had been right as she didn’t much fancy playing in a storm.
Walking up she was glad that it had blown out though the grass on the way to the pitch was sloppy. She decided to fly to the change rooms and then again across the pitch to the bench. She stood near to vic and aroha as Teddy gave his speech and gained in the cheer. you’ve got this. I’ve got faith in you she said to her friend afterwards. Before turning to her youngest team mate. you’ve got this too. And you have me and miles up there with you she said. Before taking a mouthful from her water and getting ready to chase.

Audrey idly tapped her bat on her shoulder as she waited for the game to start, feeling rather relaxed all things considered. Of course, she wanted to win for herself as much as for Ravenclaw. And she wanted Gryffindor to lose. But mostly she could only really do what was second nature to her and hope the bludgers favoured her. She almost wished she had some Felix Felicis, but that wouldn't be a victory they could be happy with. It was a strong team, they didn't need extra assistance to win.

Reeve looked at the line-ups and noted that they were both in order. He cast the Sonorous Charm on himself and addressed everyone. “Today is the first game of the season. Gryffindor will be guarding the northern hoops, and Ravenclaw will guard the south. I understand the school is celebrating its 50th year. May the best team win and may this be the best Quidditch season yet! Good luck teams.” Reeve released the snitch and bludgers. He flew up into the sky with the quaffle, tossing it into the air with a "GAME ON!"

OOCOut of Character: Game notes, please read

1. Be sure to review the rules [please note the change to snitch capture value]. Any questions regarding the rules should first be addressed to your captain(s). Captains may PM me for any assistance needed.
2. If you have any issues seeing the score on the referee's first post or with your access to the quidditch system, please send a PM including both me and your captain(s). It may be that they've forgotten to add you to the system or may be a bigger issue.
3. You should refresh the page before you post! Someone might sneak in a post while you are working on yours and first post counts.
4. You should always be pressing a button, whichever is appropriate for your game play during your post. Doing so boosts your success rate and allows the timer to kick in appropriately for players.
5. After a player is hit by the bludger 3x, gameplay should stop. This allows for a quicker return to game post- substitution.
6. The game is meant to be interactive, so read your fellow players posts before posting! Stick with the game from beginning to end, from kicking off the ground to touching back down! Have fun!

At the Sound of the whistle Ivy took to the sky and grabbed the quaffle making her way to the ravenclaw hoops.

Lucy scowled as Ivy got the quaffle first, but chased alongside to see if she could get an opening.

Aroha appreciated Ivy's support but as the whistle blew her mind quickly went to the snitch. Somehow, she tracked it down, spotting it in the distance. She flew over to it and...well, grasped it in her hand. So much for a game, she thought, as she lifted her hand in the air for all to see.

The crowd was a roar around her partially blocked by the whistle of the wind as Ivy flew forward making the most of the clear field ahead of her. She shot the quaffle before turning around. It was then that she saw aroha holding a tiny gold ball up. The game was already over and she hadn’t even realised. wooo go aroha she called flying over to her friend.

Lilith had barely any time to take off when the Gryffindor Seeker already had the snitch in her hands. Gaping at the older girl Lili was too stunned to speak, just hovering.

Teddy had barely reached the hoops when Aroha caught the snitch. He had an immense sense of relief that Gryffindors chances of a championship were safe, but he was a little disappointed that they weren't going to get to play any Quidditch today. That being said, he'll gladly take the win. He cheered, "Yes Aroha! Go Gryffindor!"

The game was over in a flash. "Gryffindor wins!" he declared to the crowd.
