Lars had been looking forward to this specific part of Hogwarts most of all. Fleur had told him about the arts room, and he had been waiting until he had a good few hours of free time to try it out. He was very happy with the supplies they had there, as it almost reminded him of being in his mother's studio and painting with her. It was lucky there were no other students there, and Lars was completely absorbed in his painting. He was painting the landscape he could see from the window in his dormitory, to the best of his memory. He had put a canvas up on an easel and had started mixing colors right away. Now he was painting the trees of the forest stretching out into the distance, the green getting darker the further away it was. His hands were stained with paint, but he hardly noticed. This was what he enjoyed doing the most, and he was really happy to be painting again. He wondered if he could send it home, but he didn't know if owls would be able to carry a canvas that far. It didn't matter, if he couldn't send it home he would put it up in the dormitory. Or maybe he could give it to his sister, as he was sure Fleur would appreciate it.

The first Quidditch match of the year was coming up and Elliot wanted to make a Hufflepuff banner and start the season off right. School spirit seemed like a good way to make friends with his housemates, and maybe someone could help him with a cool enchantment to make the badger move or something. He’d been directed to the art room by one of the prefects and Elliot hoped it’d have everything he needed to get started.

The room was occupied when Elliot arrived, another student set up painting with an easel. They seemed to be lost in their work and Elliot hoped he wouldn’t bother them, though maybe they could help him find everything in the room. There certainly seemed to be a lot in here. Glancing over the painter’s shoulder, Elliot couldn’t help but be taken by the painting, a landscape covered in green. “Wow, that’s really good! Is that the Forbidden Forest?”

Despite wearing an oversized trench coat, a backpack and a satchel straining with the weight over her shoulder, Isla still wasn't convinced she'd brought enough provisions with her. She was exploring the grounds for the first time properly since starting at Hogwarts because she needed to know where everything was, but she wouldn't be having it if she found that she required something and she'd left it in her room. That would mean going all the way back to the dormatory and unlike her brother, Islas stamina was slim.

Peering through a door into what appeared to be an arts room, her heart stammered in her chest as she realised the gold mine she'd just walked in on. Briefly aware there were two others in the room, the Hufflepuff was more focused on the objects that lay scattered around the room. It would be plenty useful she was sure. She stepped in a little further, bringing mud in with her on the bottom of her shoes, her wind swept brown hair tied lazily in a bun on top of her head, she barely heard the compliment her fellow classmate was giving another.

Lars was focused on his painting, and didn't notice another boy approaching him until he was behind him. He gasped and turned around, green paint dripping from his brush as he stared at a vaguely familiar boy. It took him a while to comprehend his words and realize he was receiving a compliment from him. "Oh." He said, blinking. "It is. Thank you." He said, glancing down at where the paint had dripped onto the floor. "I'm trying to paint the view from my dormitory window." He added softly. A girl aso entered the room and Lars looked at her, but she didn't seem to pay them much attention. He glanced back at the painting, feeling less sure about it now that others were here to see it.

Elliot took a few steps back when the other boy startled, trying to give him some space. Maybe he was being a bit noisy. He tried an apologetic smile and nodded, "It looks great." Elliot paused when another student entered the room, she cut quite an odd figure, tracking in mud and packed like she was going hiking.
"Are we allowed to just take the supplies in here? I was hoping to make something but I don't really know where anything is.." Elliot scanned the surround cabinets and tables. He didn't really have a clue where to start with his banner, but getting the supplies first was probably a good idea. Paper, or maybe some cloth would last longer. He hadn't really planned this very well and it was making him a bit nervous.
