Vanity could not believe she'd had her prefect badge for more than two years now and still had barely ever taken points off anyone. The thing was useless besides that, so she hoped she could at least find someone to take points off this year. It would have been great tot take some from June or Mikael last year, but they were (thankfully) both gone. Vanity entered the castle after a brief walk outside and noticed immediately that there were muddy footsteps leading into the Entrance Hall. She smiled and followed them, hoping that the person at the other end was a Slytherin. Otherwise she'd just have to threaten to go to their head of house or something, not nearly as fun.

Seriously the weather outside had left the ground all muddy and though the first year had tried to clean her shoes before walking in that had been a failed attempt. Instead she had confidently stomped inside, she felt a little bad sure but like didn't they have cleaning charms and such anyways? If not for this reason then why? She even considered flagging down and older student to help her clean it up, if she got lucky maybe Nia would pass her by.

Vanity grinned when she saw the student walking with the muddy feet was a Slytherin. Did she feel a little bad that it was just a firstie? Maybe a little. But firsties also needed to learn. She just hoped she wouldn't cry, that would be annoying. Vanity walked up to her and moved in front, blocking her path. "What do you think you're doing?" She asked, planting her hands on her hips and raising her eyebrows at the girl. "Do you not see the mess you're making?" Vanity nearly laughed. As if she cared about that stuff.

Eris stopped walking as an older student appeared in front of her. It was one of her house prefects. "Merlin where did you come from?" Scratch that for all she knew this girl could very well apparate or whatever it was called again that Hera had been learning last year. "Duh, I tried to clean my shoes but as you can tell," She gestured behind her. "That didn't exactly work out, I could use the cleaning charm. Oh wait above my pay grade." She said mirroring the girl and planting her hands on her own hips.

Whatever Vanity had expected her reaction to be, this wasn't it. She blinked, surprised. Since when did first years act like this? Weren't they supposed to be intimidated by the older students? Especially prefects? "Don't be rude, I'm a prefect." She snapped at her, frustrated at her lack of reaction. "I'll be taking points for the mud, I don't care that you tried to clean them. You didn't do a good job. And if you keep talking back to me, I'll take points for that too." She said, frustrated that this wasn't going how she had hoped. "Five points for the mud." She said finally, frowning.

Eris didn't even blink before responding instantly to her statement. "Yes, I can see that." She said looking at the Prefect badge on the girl. She hadn't meant to be exactly rude but this girl also decided to just appear in front of her and demand her to see the obvious mud on the floor. Then she told her she'd be taking her points. Good for her, she hadn't even gotten any yet so really all this girl was doing was setting them a step back. "Okay." Eris agreed, no point fighting it. "Am I free to go or is there something else I can help you with?" She asked, stood still in her muddy shoes that she'd very much like to get off soon. "Though I'd assume anything I can do you can so I won't be much help really." Kind of sucked to be a helpless first year, didn't it?

Teddy was absolutely delighted with the top badge Hogwarts had to offer. He had been hand picked by Alcott-Ward himself to lead the student body and uphold the school rules. And with that came privileges not awarded to any other students, except the head girl of course, but he couldn't imagine Lucy abusing them nearly as much as Teddy planned to. It changed him and he became more observant around school. He watched the exchange between a prefect and a first year for example, and saw an opportunity where he previously wouldn't have, raising an eyebrow when Vanity took points from her own house. He folded his arms but still made sure his more senior badge was showing when he approached. He gave the muddy floor a look, then looked at the two girls.

“Only five points?” he interrupted Vanity, a smirk growing as his ability to take points from any house gave him an idea. “Come on Mettlestone, you’re going soft." He shook his head like he was disappointed but he felt delighted. “I'm taking ten more points from Slytherin, for you expecting a first year to know basic cleaning charms in their first week. Honestly, you could’ve just helped her out and cast it yourself instead of going on some unnecessary power trip and wasting everyone's time.” Teddy had just managed to take even more points from Slytherin and was very happy about it, his own power trip reaching a new level as he could take points from prefects in his own year too.

Tiernan did hate school a lot. It was just dull and boring and he was better suited to being anywhere else, and yet, there he was, a second year. He had come up the steps towards the entrance hall, and spotted a new first year, with the head boy and one of the slytherin prefects, who seemed focused on a spot of mud. He reached into his pocket, where a couple of loose stink bombs were, ignoring how risky it was to have them loose. He stepped a little closer, and then took it out of his pocket and quickly tossed it upon the ground next to where the older girl was. Now there was something to really complain about.

Vanity wanted to shake the girl a little, especially at her nonchalant attitude to being caught. Where was the fear? The emotion? Even Vanity would have cared a little bit if she lost points at the start of term in her first year. Maybe. She opened her mouth to take more points, when she suddenly heard Teddy's irritating voice. She turned to him with a frown. "Seriously, Teddy?" she snapped when he took points from her. "I thought you'd be glad I was actually taking this whole prefect thing seriously." She crossed her arms, glaring at him. She had never liked Teddy much, and it frustrated her that two people she hated were now in charge. "You're one to talk." She muttered when he talked about an unnecessary power trip, rolling her eyes. But before they could argue more, a stink bomb went off, creating a terrible smell. Vanity gagged and coughed, pinching her nose closed and waving at the fumes. "What the H*LL?!"

Eris was pretty sure she'd made the Prefect even more annoyed. The girl resembled her aunt Sofia in some ways. For example both seemed to have an intense fixation on keeping places clean. Though she'd say her aunt was worse than this girl in that department. Before any more points were lost from her a third person entered this little party of theirs. It was Teddy, the head boy who her sister, Mania, had pointed out and said was cool. Eris stared at him, unimpressed, as he told the older Slytherin she was going soft. However when he took points from her Eris was this close to snorting out a laugh. Oh karma was sill very much alive. Before she could react in a way or another suddenly there was a stink bomb and the first year had to suppress a gag. Glancing around she spotted another Slytherin, not much older than her by the looks, who might have been the culprit. As disgusting as the smell was at least it'd take the heat off of her muddy little shoe prints. Eris retreated a few steps, to both get away from the stink and to observe the situation further.

Teddy had never been a fan of Vanity ever since they met in first year, and nothing he'd seen since then had changed his mind about her. He shrugged as she started to argue. Normally he would have argued back, but he sniffed the air and recognised the stink instantly. He'd been into dungbombs himself back in first year and knew exactly how to handle them, which was to not touch them once they had gone off.

He acted fast, removing his wand and casting a bubblehead charm on himself which sufficiently filtered fresh air for him to breathe comfortably. And because he wasn’t a complete monster, he extended it to Eris as well, "Here, this helps" He gave her just enough time to step aside if she didn’t want the charm cast on her. Vanity of course, got nothing. This was a fourth year spell and she should be perfectly capable of casting it herself. He turned to the culprit, eyes narrowing, "Right. That’s another five points from Slytherin!” he said to the boy, the charm garbling his words but clear enough he hoped. He hadn't seen that boy throw it but he was the only other person in the area and Teddy was certain it was him. Even if it wasn't him, everyone here was Slytherin so he couldn't go wrong taking more points.

Tiernan knew he'd lose points, but he didn't, and hadn't ever really cared about that. Instead he just looked at the boy, the head boy and shrugged. "Cool, stink boy," he replied with a little smirk. It wasn't particularly inventive as an insult but he wasn't one for insults really. He began moving away to head off, giving a little salute to the girl who had been getting into trouble, a salute to a fellow trouble maker even if she wasn't one.

Vanity saw Teddy do the bubble head charm and copied him, a bit annoyed he couldn't just do one for her too. He had clearly decided to make an enemy out of her. This whole situation had gotten out of hand, but what outraged Vanity the most was when Teddy said the boy who had thrown the stink bomb only got five points as well. "WHAT!?" Vanity yelled, turning to Teddy with blazing eyes. "This guy throws a STINK BOMB at a prefect and the Head Boy and you give him only five points. I do my job as a prefect and I get ten!?" She wished she could smack him in his stupid, bubbled face. "You're a joke. F*ck you, Teddy." She stepped away from them all, throwing in a rude hand gesture for good measure. She would get back at him in some way for humiliating her in front of the first years. She didn't know how yet, but she would get him.

The smell got worse and worse so when Teddy offered to extend the weird looking spell onto Eris, she didn't put up a fight. If anything she took a step closer to the head boy and gave him a small smile. "Thank you," she said to him. Eris grimaced just a little at yet another five points lost for their house, but then she gave a small appreciative smile to the guy who'd taken the heat off of her albeit in a way that wasn't exactly the most comfortable but at least they'd forgotten her muddy shoes now. "She seems... lovely?" Eris said to Teddy after, Vanity she was pretty sure her name was, called him a joke and made a rude hand gesture.
