Following discussion from this topic, I've decided to compile a list for students who attend other schools at Cyndi's suggestion. This will, hopefully, make it easier to find and plot with members who attend schools other than Hogwarts New Zealand.
PM me or post below with a list of characters and where they attend, plus their year and house, to be added here. Currently, the only schools with known houses are Hogwarts and Ilvermorny.
Please notify me of any transfers. This will ensure they are in the proper place on the Graduation list.
Hogwarts (Scotland)
Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is located in the Scottish Highlands, Hogwarts is the original school that HNZ is derived from, and known for producing exceptional wizards such as Merlin, Albus Dumbledore, and Harry Potter. Students wear black robes and pointed hats, with their associated house colours.
Frost Flying Academy (New Zealand) -------------------------------------------------ID #93231
The Frost Flying Academy is located in New Zealand, and is a specialised school founded by Headmistress Kida Frost. The academy heavily focuses on flying and Quidditch, and aims to produce the best of the best in terms of professional Quidditch players. It accepts students from their O.W.L years onwards, though its spots are limited. Prospective students can apply by contacting the Headmistress via owl.
-
Beauxbatons (France)
Beauxbatons Academy of Magic (Académie de Magie Beauxbâtons) is located in the Pyrenees mountains of southern France. Visitors speak of the breath-taking beauty of a chateau surrounded by formal gardens and lawns created out of the mountainous landscape by magic. Students wear pale blue robes made of fine silk.
-
Durmstrang (Unknown)
Durmstrang Institute is located somewhere in the far north of Europe, and is notorious for prominently featuring the Dark Arts in its curriculum and attempts to bar muggle-borns from admittance. The school is Unplottable, and visits have their memory of the location wiped upon departure. Students wear fur cloaks and blood-red robes.
-
Ilvermorny (North America)
Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is the American wizarding school, located on Mount Greylock in modern-day Massachusetts. What began as a simple stone cottage gradually expanded into the mist-wreathed castle it is today. Students wear a uniform of blue and cranberry.
-
Castelobruxo (South America)
Located amid the Amazon rainforest in northern Brazil, the golden castle is often compared to a temple, and enchanted to appear as ruins to muggles. The building and its grounds are protected by caipora, and holds a high reputation for its herbology and magizoology courses. Students wear a uniform of bright green robes.
-
Koldovstoretz (Russia)
Located in Russia, Koldovstoretz School is known for its version of Quidditch played on entirely uprooted trees rather than broomsticks.
-
Mahoutokuro (Japan)
Located at the topmost point of Minami Iwo Jima, a volcanic island in the southern tropical region of Japan, Mahoutokuro is described as an exquisite palace resembling a pagoda made of nephrite. It has reputation of having an impressive academic prowess and is outstanding at Quidditch due to its weather conditions. The school accepts students as young as seven, but they do not board until they are eleven. Day students travel to and from the academy on giant storm petrels. Students wear a uniform that grows and changes colour as they advance through the years. Their robes turn white if they practice dark magic, and are promptly expelled.
-
Uagadou (Africa)
Located in the Mountains of the Moon in western Uganda, the school is described as a stunning edifice carved out of the mountainside. Students are notably adept in the courses of Astronomy, Alchemy and Self-Transfiguration, and are noted for their skill in wandless magic over wands. Students receive notice of their acceptance via dream messenger, who appears to them in their sleep and leaves them with a token when they wake.
-
Home-Schooled (Worldwide)
Students across the globe who are taught by parents or guardians at home rather than any magical academy.
