Open One foot forward

Some may have thought Eoghan's costume was nothing special, but it was to him. For the third year, dressing in a way that he would have when he was younger and away from the magical community was a strange experience. He only did it because he thought that perhaps he could show some of his friends something they may have found interesting about him. Tucked under his arm he had a skateboard; again nothing too special. It was old and battered and had just been something Eoghan had been given from a friend years ago, but it was still the one he'd learnt on when he was younger. He had no doubt that others in the school would dress as fantasy creatures or in scary outfits, but for Eoghan, his current attire was unusual. After the last couple of years of Lilith more or less forcing Eoghan to participate in the Halloween traditions, this year was slightly different. He didn't know why but for the first time he'd actually felt excited about spending time with the others outside of lessons. He'd been the one to ask his girlfriend to the event this year, and he waited in the Ravenclaw common room to see what Lilith would surprise him with this time.

Lilith had been absolutely ecstatic when Eoghan had asked her, not the other way around, to go to the Halloween feast. Of course she'd said yes and done her best to find out what her boyfriend would dress up as. She'd been a bit stuck on her own costume so when he'd said he was going as a skater to represent his younger self a song from the past had immediately come to Lilith's mind. She'd kept her idea secret, wanting to see his face when she finally revealed that she was matching him. She'd just put on the most proper girl attire, nothing magical just that. Walking to meet Eoghan in the common room she couldn't help but grin from ear to ear at her own cleverness, not many people would get it but that wasn't the point of this costume anyways. "See you later boy," Lilith said with a grin. That might not have been the usual greeting but it was a direct quote of the song lyrics and she wanted to mess with Eoghan just a little bit, see if he'd get it instantly or if she'd have to explain her thought process. Though given how old the song was she wasn't holding her breath.

As Eoghan turned to see Lilith, it took him a moment to realise what she'd dressed up in. In previous years she'd gone as something more traditional, but now she was just looking especially girly. It was only when Lilith greeted him that he put two and two together. Having a twin sister who'd also been part of his friend group, learning with the others about how to skate, meant that Eoghan was more familiar with Lilith's idea than perhaps he wanted to be. Imogen had blasted it for months.

The third year moved across to greet her, wrapping one arm immediately around her waist and planting a kiss on her lips. "He wasn't good enough for her," he teased, a smile spreading on his face before releasing her again and taking her hand with his free one. Eoghan was feeling stronger than ever about his relationship with Lilith, all things considered. He'd never thought something like this were possible, but he wasn't going to take it for granted. "You ready?"

As Eoghan clearly got her reference and then proceeded to quote the next bit Lilith rolled her eyes returning the kiss. Patting him on the shoulder she shook her head, "He is more than good enough for her," she retaliated even though she knew it was just lyrics, it was something that still needed to be made clear. "Ready!" The Ravenclaw responded beaming up at the blond. Pulling him by the hand she began walking towards the exit of their common room. "Can you believe this is our third Halloween together already? And look at us, this time both willing to go first year Eoghan would probably faint if he heard you asked me to go to the feast." She joked swinging their hands up and down as they walked.
