Name: Ngawaiata Kahurangi Martin
Meaning: Ngawaiata - Psalms, Kahurangi - Precious, a kind of Pounamu, blue (named for her aunt)
Birthdate: 30th of November, 2043
Zodiac: Saggitarius
Strengths: Optimistic - Independent - Cautious - Friendly - Sincere
Weaknesses: Restless - Unemotional - Inflexible - Temperamental
Being a Sagittarius born on November 30th, you seek adventure with a positive and straightforward personality. You take no refuge in familiar settings, as you are much more excited by the prospect of new experiences and people. This inclination may explain why you are always exploring new environments. Your friends and family are always excited to hear about your latest adventure, but they appreciate your optimism over all else. You can rarely recall a time where you weren't able to take something positive from a situation or person.
Hometown: Wellington, New Zealand
Birthplace: Taumarunui, New Zealand

Blood Status: Mixed
Wand: Straight 11 Inch Sturdy Acacia Wand with Dragon Heartstring Core
Length: A fairly average length for a wand, not at all uncommon or very special.
Style: Straight and smooth: what else is there to say?
Wood: Known to keep its magic from all but its master, wands with Acacia wood are rare to see and incredibly difficult to work with - usually these wands are only used by the subtly powerful.
Core: This wand core is popular with the dark wizards, but useful for all as wands of this nature seem to learn spells with more ease than other wands do. A wand with dragon heartstring will contain a great deal of power, so it is advised that the wand caster know how to handle such power.
Flexibility: Sturdy: A solid wand for any witch or wizard - easy to use, and highly dependable.

Hogwarts House: Slytherin

Distinguishing Features: Ngawaiata's height usually stands out, as do the freckles dusting her whole body.

Personality: Ngawaiata has never fit into the large, boisterous family she comes from, and has spent most of her youth on her own. When she does have to be around people she tends to be stiff and uncomfortable. Ngawaiata has always admired her mother's career, aware of the amount of work it took to get where she is, and that admiration has translated into big goals in her own life, Ngawaiata tending to put her own desires first and avoid situations where she has to help other people. That's not to say she's cruel, she does have friends and can loosen up once she trusts people, but ultimately she's a pragmatist who puts herself first, and prefers her own company.
Strengths:
-Ngawaiata is very dedicated to her goals, and once she decides she wants something she gets it done.
-Ngawaiata is very observant, watching the people around her and silently absorbing details about them.
-Ngawaiata is a fast learner, able to retain facts easily and draw on them whenever she needs to.
Weaknesses:
-Ngawaiata's preference for solitude can come across as coldness, and drive people away from her.
-Ngawaiata's pragmatism can lead her to put herself above others, and though she tries not to be cruel, she doesn't always succeed.
-Ngawaiata has a bit of a superiority complex, and often thinks of herself as better than the people around her.
Hobbies:
Music - Ngawaiata grew up surrounded by music and has lived up to her name, excelling at both singing and piano.
Track and Field - Ngawaiata loves field sports, her favourites being high jump and cross country.
Reading - Ngawaiata has always been a bookworm, often losing whole days to a good one.

Personality Type: INTJ (The Architect)
It's lonely at the top, and being one of the rarest and most strategically capable personality types, Architects know this all too well. Architects form just two percent of the population, and women of this personality type are especially rare, forming just 0.8% of the population - it is often a challenge for them to find like-minded individuals who are able to keep up with their relentless intellectualism and chess-like maneuvering. People with the Architect personality type are imaginative yet decisive, ambitious yet private, amazingly curious, but they do not squander their energy.
Strengths: Quick, Imaginative and Strategic Mind, High Self-Confidence, Independent and Decisive, Hard-Working and Determined, Open-Minded, Jack-of-all-Trades
Weaknesses: Arrogant, Judgmental, Overly Analytical, Loathe Highly Structured Environments, Clueless in Romance

History: Kristof Martin met Tui Josephs while travelling the world after being laid off at his job in Germany, and it was love at first sight. They married shortly after finding out Tui was pregnant, and several months later, Ngawaiata was born. Already certain they wanted more children, Tui and Kristof were devastated when they found out that they wouldn't be able to have another child. They devoted all their attention to Ngawaiata when not working, and she grew up... not spoiled, but sheltered. Though she has a large extended family, Tui and Kristof's home isn't in the same town, and as a result Ngawaiata didn't grow up as close with the rest of her cousins as they all got, finding herself isolated even at family gatherings. Her experience at muggle Primary School was a quiet one, making few friends and keeping largely to herself, with the exception of talent shows.
Health: Ngawaiata has a very weak immune system, and tends to catch everything that's going around. She has a scar on her left shin from a broken leg when she was little.

Goals: To find a purpose in life, and achieve her goals.
Fears: Large crowds, sudden noises, deep conversation, and debilitating illness.
Secrets: Ngawaiata assumes a lot of people don't like her, and finds it easier to keep wholly to herself than risk rejection.
Regrets: Ngawaiata tries to live a life without regret.

Ngawaiata had been both looking forward to and dreading her first year at Hogwarts, both excited for the opportunity to live more independently and apprehensive of the prospect of sharing her space and life with so many people. While she did find herself very quickly missing the privacy and alone time she could get at home, Ngawaiata was pleasantly surprised to find a few friends in her own year. One friendship she quickly regretted though, as on a curious outing Isadora Novak got her caught by a professor trying to sneak into the forest.
Somehow, despite everything her family had said about it, the Great Hall managed to be even bigger than Ngawaiata had imagined. It was enough to freeze her in her tracks for a moment, staring out across the seemingy endless faces filling the hall. She knew Manaia would be looking for her, but how was she supposed to even begin looking for him? Her eyes wandered up next, jaw dropping at the sight of the ceiling she had heard so much about over the years. It was stunning, absorbing her attention enturely as she gazed upwards in wonder. It wasn't until the Headmistress began speaking that Ngawaiata was pulled back to herself, taking the reminder to search the teachers table. Thankfully it wasn't nearly as crowded as the rest of the hall, and she was able to easily spot Auntie Kahu and give her a small, nervous smile.

The singing hat was another element of all this that she knew to expect, but it was strange to actually witness all the same. Her instinctive thought was that it was a little like a radio, though those weren't sentient. It was nice though, reminding her of home in a strange way. Once it was done, the real thing began. Sorting. She watched her future classmates step up to the hat and have their fate decided, one by one. She knew Manaia was hoping she would join him in Hufflepuff, knew Auntie Kahu would love to be her Head of House, but Ngawaiata couldn't help hoping to disappoint them. If she was going to discover this place properly, better to do so on her own terms, at her own pace and in her own way. And soon, the time had come. Ngawaiata took a deep breath but otherwise kept her face impassive as she stepped up to the stool, determined not to let the butterflies in her stomach show on her face. Sure, the hat would know how nervous she was, but her future schoolmates wouldn't get that same satisfaction, and that was the best she could hope for. As Ngawaiata sat down she tried and failed to make peace with the thought of something reading her mind, digging through all the deepest, most private parts of who she was. The whole process felt invasive and uncomfortable, but what other choice did she have? It was too late before long, a sinking feeling in her stomach as the hat slid down and settled over her eyes, blocking the rest of the hall from view.

Ngawaiata's second year was a quiet one, illness damaging both her social life and her grades. While she did her best to keep up with things most of her life slipped, and the main thing she stayed active with was her new work on the school yearbook. She rallied enough to compete in the duelling tournament for the first time, in which she placed first for her year.

After getting over her illness Ngawaiata returned to most of her normal activities, her grades picking up and able to put more time into her Accio work. Her social life remained quiet, with Cameron being her only real friend, though her feud with Isadora Novak continued, much to Ngawaiata's frustration. Later in the year she was doubly frustrated to have to sit out the duelling tournament, as her health was still a little concerning.

Finished. Finished, finished, finished. School was finally finished, and Ngawaiata could hardly wait to be out the door.

Her toe tapped slightly with impatience as she did her best to actually pay attention to Aine's speech. It was a very nice speech, and Ngawaiata wished she had more patience to actually pay attention to it; although they had never been close she had always respected Aine, and it was nice hearing what she had to say. But Sky was here, and as soon as this was over and done with Ngawaiata would be free to leave, go and start her life with her girlfriend and never have to think about this stupid place again. She was almost relieved when Monday took the stand and she didn't have to pretend to pay attention anymore, tuning out what were thankfully the last words she would ever have to listen to from him as she looked around to spot where Sky was sitting. Her family were here as well and she was looking forward to seeing them, of course, but it was hard to focus on anything or anyone else after a full year away from her girlfriend.

Finally the speeches were done, and Ngawaiata moved from being frustrated having to hear people go on and on about the future to being frustrated at how far down the alphabet her name was. She watched her classmates take the stage one by one, doing her best to be a good sport and clap when her friends got their diplomas, but all she could really think about was her own upcoming turn. Finally, finally her name was called, and she practically leaped from her seat, hurrying to the stage. She had been waiting for the moment for so long and it turned to a blur all at once - diploma in one hand, headmaster's hand in the other, and it was all done. She returned to her seat a graduate at last, and finally there was nothing left to be done but enjoy her future. She was free.
