Sorting won't be over for another couple of months, but if your bent on having your character started out as a student you can always roleplay in the Unsorted section. Or you can have your character become an older student at Durmstrang or Beauxbatons. There is also the option of your character becoming an adult. There is a lot to do with the character. It's all up to you!
