New and confused

Hello all.

I am Geraint, and I have recently started a new job, so I am a bit busy, but I love RPing. I have RPed Hogwarts RPs before, the main ones being Muggle Mania (way back when) PotterPlay (another oldish one) and Hogwarts Magic, but my looking for a new one so my characters can be young again.

Donald is my main character, he is usually 13 years old, but I don’t mind him being a first year and her usually has an older sister (which brings me onto my first question), is it possible to create an older student, or do they all have to start out in their first year? I would really like Donnie to keep his older sister. Also is it possible to have more than one character?

Another question is about how to get a wand, do I select the wand from the shop first, or is there a test I need to go to decide what kind of wand my character has? I know I have to RP him buying it, but I am not sure if I select it first, or if it is selected via a test.
I am really looking forward to RPing here, it looks like a fun and active site.

Hey Geraint, welcome to HNZ!

It's absolutely possible to have more than one character - just register another account.
Older students can be created, but they must apply to transfer to HNZ (and transfer applications are only open during sorting). You could make his sister, claim she's going to another school (like Beauxbatons or Durmstrang) and then have her transfer when sorting for Y20 opens?

Finally, I believe wand purchases work such that you buy it in the shopping system, open the RP and put an

[ooc]

note to the shopkeeper about which wand you're looking to have your character buy. No test for that.

Okay, thanks for your help and welcome.

I am really looking forward to RPing here, they look like really interesting forums. I especially like the idea that everyone starts off as a first year (unless they transfer), since I like playing as younger characters since I think it gives them more chance to develope better.

May I ask how one would pronounce your name, I hate getting it wrong. Anyway, HNZ has many things to offer, including many creatures, such as Mermaids and centaurs, you can also apply for special blood statuses, such as Part Goblins or Part Veelas and Purebloods, from this forum here. It will be sent through the Admins, Like Nick up there, who will decide if your application is successful. Some abilities are easier to get then others, but you will learn over time how to make your applications.

Hiya both. Thanks for the welcome. My name is Welsh and it is pronounced as it is spelt, really (Ger-Raint) the G is 'hard'

I probably should tell you a bit more about myself, well I have RPed for a long while now, a very long while. Most of which have been Harry Potter RPs, but a few Star Wars, political and Star Trek ones too. I am also currently a member of another popular Harry Potter rp. Also, I am an admin on a fan forum for a video game character.

Outside of the internet, I have currently moved to a new city, to start my new job and I am really excited by how it is going so far.
