There were many things that Sloane enjoyed about being at Hogwarts and the abundance of conversational possibilities was one of them. Still, she enjoyed chatting with her students too and so she tended to stay in either of her offices for as long as possible. Mostly she spent time in her classroom office, because her office in the Hufflepuff lounge was accessible only by her Hufflepuffs. She always wanted to make sure that she would be available for all of the students who wanted to see her, she saw that as her best way of being available to them. However since it was getting quite late in the day, she would be going up to the common room soon, she decided to pitstop at the professors common room, despite it being on a completely different floor and in the wrong direction to where she was actually going. Still, there was generally someone there who hadn't any students that afternoon or any other number of reasons. She liked going there for the conversation and for general factors of having pretty good coffee.

As Sloane walked into the common room she noted that it was indeed occupied by someone. She didn't recognise him however, and figured that perhaps he was new. She turned away from him for the moment and waved her wand to produce a cup of coffee before looking over her shoulder. "How long have you been in here?" She asked, finishing up her coffee and moving to sit in a chair. "Sorry, I'm Sloane Stark by the way, it's nice to meet you."

So far, Landon had quite enjoyed his new job at Hogwarts New Zealand. The atmosphere was friendly and it didn't make him feel too shy to start a conversation with someone. Better yet, his students actually liked him which lifted his spirits more than anything, especially since he had never been a Herbology professor before and had not too much experiences with magical plants. Despite this, he had read many different books on everything he was going to teach and was confident that he had everything down pat.

Landon was making his way from the Herbology greenhouses to the Professor's common room. He had no need to be up there but he wanted to explore the place and get it to know it a bit more before he really felt like he belonged at the school. It was like a whole new world to him and he was eager to get to know every little detail about it. The man waved to a couple of students before entering the room which he was surprised to see was not occupied by anyone at all. At his old school, the common room was always full of people gossiping about their day, but here they were all probably off doing their own things or teaching a class. Shrugging, Landon began to walk over to the bookshelf and grabbed a book about dragon eggs before sitting himself cross-legged in a nearby armchair. The professor just continued to read, not particularly noticing when another professor had entered the room, and jumped when a woman's voice had spoken, introducing herself and asking how long he had been there for.

Landon hesitated before answering her. "Err... not long." he told her, wondering if whether or not that was in fact true. He had found himself too endorsed in the book to actually know how long he had been there for, and thought that the distraction was probably a good thing. "I'm Landon Carter." Landon smiled at her. "What subject do you teach?"

Although quite a social person, it dawned on Anzhelikathat she hadn't met many of the other professors. After a rather sweet, but short lived encounter with a professor now departed, the Pakistani woman needed some social interaction. With the new semester starting, Anzhelika had no homework or lessons to write up and was feeling rather laid back about the upcoming months. She was still excited to teach her subject and engage with more students, but she felt less pressure and more natural going into the second half of the year. Walking into the common room, the woman acknowledged two professors with a brief wave before making a cup of coffee. With a steaming mug of black coffee, Anzhelika debated whether or not to join the other professors, stirring the liquid in her mug for almost too long of a time, the woman decided to introduce herself. Slowly, comfortably she wandered towards them - catching the tail end of their conversation, "Hello," Anzhelika greeted with a smile, hoping she didn't catch them mid sentence, "Mind if I join you? " her British accent sounding relaxed and content.
