Paige was not someone that went out often, she did not really like nature. The Hogwarts Garden looked pretty with flowers in every colour, but the recent weather did the flowers no good. There was a really pretty pink flower and Paige decided to take it. She was not someone that would ruin nature, but this flower looked too pretty. She stuffed the pink flower behind her ear and looked at the sky. The afternoon had already started and Paige started to yawn. The books for her second year were already stuffed into her dark leathered trunk and her trunk was in the Slytherin dormitory. Paige was wondering where her friends were, she missed Andrea and Bex. David had graduated last year and she obviously missed him, they became good friends over a year. All of her friends were first years and that was pretty strange since Paige really liked everyone on this school. There were some annoying Gryffindors whom she disliked.

The twins that only were here to do mischief stood high on her dislike list. There were also some Hufflepuffs that were not too bright and Paige could not really handle that. The Hogwarts Garden was not busy today, the only people here were occupied in there own little games. Paige was feeling kind of lonely and the fact that she had a book with her was not helping her game. The book in question was a second year potion book, she had learned from her first year that Potions was a lovely subject and Paige wanted to know more and more. Her Holiday consisted mostly out of reading and that made her very busy. Paige had written to her friends and she had some replies back, but they had yet to arrive. There was a faint wind in the air, which made Paige her hair flow with it. Wishing she had a rubber band to tie it all up, she found an old one in her Slytherin robes. Making a sideways ponytail in her hair while trying not to let the book slip was a really difficult task. There were some stone benches here and there and Paige lay her book carefully one of them. While the book was laying on the bench she tied her hair the right way. Paige hoped that someone would join her soon, she was getting rather lonely. Sunken in thought she opened the book that was now laying on her lap, opened on some random page.

Whenever possible, Preston preferred heading outside to get some fresh air. He loved the castle, but sometimes it could get a bit stuffy. Besides, Preston was waiting for Indiana to finish up her quidditch tryouts so he had a reason to be outside. He’d tried to go and watch her tryouts, but that hadn’t worked out too well. The Gryffindors who had been there had given him the evil eye as if they expected him to run off to the Slytherin captain to squeal. Preston didn’t even know who the Slytherin quidditch captain was and his only interest in quidditch was in seeing his girlfriend in uniform because she did look pretty cute in her uniform. So, he’d chosen to walk around, hovering close enough that he’d know when tryouts let out. He’d just have to find something to do until then.

Strolling around, Preston made his way into the gardens. He tried his hardest to remember if Indiana had mentioned a particular flower that she’d liked, hoping to surprise her by bringing her one. Try as he might though, the information eluded him, if she’d even told him at all. The pair had shared many letters over the past few months so it was hard for him to remember everything they’d shared. He was comfortable enough in saying that Indiana probably knew more about him than anyone else. It was easy to share stuff with her, especially when she wasn’t looking right at him. With a content sigh, Preston continued to walk along, an idea striking him as he spotted a solitary girl sitting on a bench. He didn’t know who she was, though he recognized her from his common room. She probably didn’t know who he was either, which made her the perfect person to help him. Preston hadn’t yet told his dorm mates that he was dating a Gryffindor, partly because he was afraid of what they’d see and partly because the relationship had been very new when they’d all left for vacation. Glad to see that the girl’s book wasn’t keeping her attention, Preston stepped in front of her. “Uh…hey. Can you help me with something?” he asked, his hands in his pockets as he waited to hear her reply. He knew that the members of his house weren’t always the most helpful, but he also figured that he would likely get more assistance from a fellow Slytherin than from anyone else.

I am sorry that it took me so long to reply!

Reading a book in a quiet place was not the real reason that Paige was outside, she wanted to escape the world. Paige did not like Muggles and would never want to study Muggle studies, but there was a rumour about a new Professor. Paige was still in stress from the try-outs what if they thought she was really bad or that she should never mount a broom again. Paige did not really like most Gryffindors, but some were decently enough to be liked. Paige had no Gryffindor friends and she did not want one.

Paige closed the book and stuffed it back in her back. Paige saw a boy wandering around the garden all by himself. She knew he was in Slytherin, she had seen him once or twice in the common room. ''Hello, it depends on what you need help on.'' Paige was wondering why this Paige was asking her for help. Paige was a random fellow Slytherin and all, he must have other friends in Slytherin. Paige waited for the boy to explain his problems. Paige did not really know if she could help the boy, she wanted to help people but there was a limit. Paige her blue eyes had a curious expression in them.

Seeing that the girl hadn’t scoffed at him or rolled her eyes or given him any other indication that he had put her out made Preston continue speaking. A blush crossed his cheeks as he spoke as he didn’t speak about his girlfriend much with other people. He wasn’t keeping their relationship a secret by any means though. They did stand fairly close to each other and did other couple things like holding hands and hugging in public. And, as they were best friends, they were already together a lot. But, it wasn’t as if he dropped the word ‘girlfriend’ into every other sentence. He tried not to anyway. “I was thinking of surprising my girlfriend by picking her some flowers, but now that I’m here I don’t know which ones to pick.” The teenager shrugged. He could see flowers of all colors and various sizes dotted here and there around the garden, but other than those physical differences, he had nothing to go on. They were all just flowers to him.

“Would you mind helping me out? I’d really appreciate it” Preston added, his voice bearing a slight pleading tone. For good measure, he gave the girl a smile. “I’m Preston by the way. I probably should’ve mentioned that first, right?” he stated with a small chuckle. If nothing else, Preston was quite the charmer. He was aware of this fact and often used it to his advantage, sometimes without even realizing that he was doing it. " And you're..."he trailed off, waiting for her to supply the missing information.

Paige found the boy rather nice for a Slytherin, it was so cute that he wanted to help his girlfriend. He had a blush on his cheeks and Paige wanted to make an 'awh' sound. Paige nodded of course she would like to help this guy, he wanted to do something for his girlfriend how sweet was that. Paige wondered who is girlfriend was, but that was really non of her business. The boy was a charmed and it was kind of cute ow this boy was doing. Paige was seeing Alan and she could withstand his charming nature. ''Of course, I am Paige.'' Paige had a small smirk on her face, she did not care how she acted around people she did not need all of them. Paige was still looking at this boy and she began to stand up looking for pretty flowers that his girlfriend might like. ''Which colour does she like?'' Paige could only hope that he knew such things, those were the basics right? Paige her favourite was dark green, but that was not important now. Alan his favourite was blue and Paige had already bought some bluey things for him.

Paige looked at some flowers and without waiting for his answer, she was already picking some and matching them with some longish leaf and grass. ''What do you think of this?'' Paige just made an example, she did not know her colour so she did not know what flowers were right for this girl. Paige was not a big nature freak, but she had good sense of colours that matched and how things were supposed to be looking.

Preston nodded when the girl had introduced herself as Paige. He was fairly horrible at remembering people’s names, so he wasn’t too sure how long he’d remember her name. As she stood up to assist him, Preston was pretty pleased with himself. He hoped that Indiana would like the flowers that he was getting. The young Slytherin paused for a moment after Paige asked him what Indiana’s favorite color was. He knew that he knew the answer to this question. “Um…red?” he guessed, his shoulders shrugging. “She’s in Gryffindor, so let’s go with that.” He was pretty sure that one of the letters they’d sent back and forth held the answer to Paige’s question, but he wasn’t going to run all the way back down to the dungeons nor was he going to summon the letters to him. What if one of them should happen to break free? It would be disastrous.

Before he’d even finished replying, Paige was already busy at work gathering flowers and long pieces of grass. The Slytherin’s hands went to his pockets. He was feeling pretty useless at the moment, but Paige didn’t seem to need his help anyway. When she turned to him and asked his opinion, Preston took a look at her creation and grinned. “That looks awesome!” he exclaimed. It seemed that he had asked the right person for help.

Paige was still picking some flowers here and there. She liked helping people, although she disliked Hufflepuff and Gryffindor. The Gryffindor twins were a pain the but and Hufflepuff just looked so lame. He had to guess her favourite colour, but red was an easy colour. With a curtly nod, she looked at Preston. ''Okay.'' It was special that this boy had a girlfriend in Gryffindor, most snakes ignored the lions like the bubonic plague. Paige turned around again and found a beautiful looking rose, she gave this to Preston. ''So here is your beginning.. Lets pick a bunch of flowers and lets your feeling guide you.'' Paige would not pick the flowers for him, he had to do it himself. The bunch of flowers that she was holding was for her best friend Alan.

Paige loved picking flowers, but she found that it was not a good hobby for Hogwarts. So she rarely picked them, she knew she had a sense for picking the right ones and she hoped that this boy could do it to. Paige found a nice looking yellow rose and picked that one as well, carefully placing it in the bunch. Alan and Paige were moving on and becoming better friends, she was hoping that they could be something more later. Paige looked at Preston, to see what he doing with his flowers. Paige walked up to Preston to see if he needed help with his flowers.
