Stefan Archer had asked the head mistress if he could and been surprised that the answer had been yes. The man had never really done any event or involved himself much in the school, but he always noted that first years and some older students struggled to find things in the library so he had thought it would be a good idea to run a little class early on in the semester to instruct students on how best to look for books. Some of them would maybe know and others wouldn’t. He had sectioned off a little corner of the library and put out a couple of chairs, not too few he hoped but definitely not too many. He didn’t have that much to teach with and of course he had never actually taught anything, but he figured they could start with him telling them a few things and then a few challenges, to really test those skills. He wasn’t sure it would work and he mostly expected that no one would turn up but he wanted to try, see if it was something the kids like before he entirely dismissed it.
OOCOut of Character:
Stefan is offering up a small class on how to improve your use of the library - open to all students!

Jenna spend always time in the library. Books help her forgot what she did and she also was ready life next. She understand that she was to young for this and better spend time with her friends and books. -Hello!- She say with a warm smile and she was spend her all the time here and he must be know her and she also bring some books when she was all read.

Abigail walked into the library, she had heard that the librarian was offering a small course on how to get the best out of the library. She smiled as she approached the group of people, this was right up he alley and something that she could easily see herself doing when she graduated the school. She loved books, but at the same time she loved being outside and exploring. It was a tough call, but she was still young. There would be plenty of time to decide in the future. She turned to the librarian and smiled. "Hi! Thanks for this! I'm so excited." She said genuinely.

Brooke was pretty sure she had a decent understanding of how libraries work, but she knew it never hurt to have a little more information, and it would be especially helpful to be on the librarian's good side as well. So when Brooke had heard about the little workshop, she'd headed up to the library, eager to get a lay of the land. "Yes, thank so much," She said politely to the librarian when a Gryffindor girl thanked him, taking her own seat and looking attentive as some other students got settled.

Stefan had to admit he had been very nervous about the fact that no one would turn up, people maybe weren't interested in learning about how to use a library. He was worried that he would organise all of this and no one would come along to it. However, first an older student arrived "Hi," he greeted her, with as much of a friendly tone as he could manage in his nervousness. Certainly it solidified that he could've never been a professor. Then two younger students arrived, they look just a little older than his son, the first one thanked him and seemed excited about it, the other was less excited but more polite, "No need to thank me just yet," he said to them, this might not help them, he'd never done anything like this before but he hoped it would help them. "I'll give it a few moments for others to arrive and then we can get started," he was happy some people had turned up, and he hoped a few more would arrive before he got started.

Nicola heard that the librarian had a tiny class on how the library worked and Nicola was eager to join in. She didn't know a lot about libraries and she was eager to know more. Nicola walked into the library and briefly greeted the librarian. She walked to the others and sat down waiting for the masterclass to start. Hopefully she could tell her brother and sister about the things she had learned her. Making this day about learning something new.

Leia had heard about the library session but definitely been unsure if she wanted to attend. Leia had been to libraries in her primary school, but this place was different, she struggled to find books sometimes and thought this might actually be really useful for her. She didn't want to make it obvious she was going, she had waited to see if something was going to be busy. She was reassured when a girl older than her turn up, and then a few students younger than her. But she decided to go take a seat and just ignore that she really didn't want to get spotted here. She wanted to learn how to do better with her researching, it would help her if she could get better grades.

Emori might have only been a first year, but when she had heard that the school librarian was having a small class about how to use the library...or something along those lines, Emori didn’t think she would attend to such a thing. But when she remembered that her year group was big, and therefore probably lots of competition, she figured if she had to be one of the smartest or most competitive - or both - students, she had to at least try. Plus, she liked to know the goings-on around the school, and this seemed like a great way to learn how to use her future study time better. That way, she would have more times to explore the castle. She entered the library, noticing a few people were there already, seeing two girls in her year which she was surprised about. She sent a smile in the direction of her roommate, that was the only person she knew there. She went over to them, wondering how it was going to go.

Nikola definitely wanted to work out the library, seeing as it was quite large and be expected to be at this school for the next seven years. There was so much to learn, and it was all stored in here - he needed to learn how it was all sorted. He assumed it would be alphabetical, but they could also use a number system. Where they organised by year? Hopefully he would find out through this little class. There were a few students that had already arrived by time he got there, and he smiled at the librarian, and then at a few of the other students around him. Hopefully this would be as interesting as he hoped it would be.

Eliza had been debating whether or not a class on how to use the library was actually going to be beneficial, although the second year had eventually headed down to find out what all the fuss was about. The Ravenclaw was more than happy to have just explored by herself, but since there was a chance that it would save her time when it came to finding out about the things she really wanted to know, maybe it wouldn't be a complete waste of time. Entering the library the brunette took a seat, noting that most of the students around her were first years, although there was one girl she knew from Henry's house.

Stefan was quite surprised as a few more people turned up and he gave a little nod. Now was as good a time as any to get started. He cleared his throat lightly, and made a quick gesture with his hands. "Right, hi," he said, knowing he seemed nervous, "I'm Stefan and I run the library," he took a little breath, "The hogwarts library is split into two section, this general area and the restricted section. The restricted section requires a signed note from a teacher before you can go in, this general section is a free for all," he wasn't sure bringing up the restricted section was a good idea, but they needed to know about it and it was a part of the library. "The library operates the magical variation of the dewey decimal system, with a few additions to account for subjects muggles don't have, like charms and defence against the dark arts. But history books, quidditch i.e. sports books would be found in the same sections as if they were books written for and about muggles. Any questions so far?"

Brooke listened with interest as the librarian started his introductions. It was curious that wizards hadn't devised their own filing system for libraries, but she supposed with certain spells or charms to locate books, it was perhaps not worth the effort. It was also interesting to hear about the restricted section, and Brooke hoped she might be able to find a project or excuse in the future to let a teacher give her access. So far, while Brooke definitely had some questions, she wanted to let the librarian continue explaining things before she asked so she didn't detail anything.
