Mania was excited for the dance as she made her way to the common room to wait for Finley. They had agreed to go together and she was happy about it, having missed the Yule ball because of her personal freak out about the semester already being over and she felt like she had done bad in her classes. The day had already been exciting with the rose deliveries and all that so Nia was sure the dance would be fun too. She had her hair open in its natural state somewhere between straight and slight waves and she was wearing a two-piece.

As Nia saw Finley enter the common room with his usual companion Lemon the first year kneeled down extending one of the treats she had on her at all times in case of a wild Lemon. "There comes the prettiest girl in the whole school, come here Lemlem." She cooed to the dog who approached her with a wagging tail and took the treat before giving her a kiss on the face as per usual. She liked to think they were just as much besties and she and Finfin were.

Finley snorted at Nia as she proceeded (of course) to greet Lemon first. Of course she would greet Lemon first, they all did. It had become something of a tradition amongst his friends that Lemon got all the treats she wanted and no one really said anything about it. Just as it should be really, he thought. He grinned at Nia, slipped his jacket over his shoulders. “I think she likes you more than me sometimes,” he complained, bending down to giver her a pat on the butt as she scrambled to get between his legs again. Happily chomping on whatever treat it was that Nia had given her. “Be careful what you feed her, she’s going to get fat, she doesn’t go up and down those stairs nearly enough.”

Mania beamed at Finley, of course the dog would love her. What was there not to like? "Of course she does, what is there not to like, I mean I am pretty cool in every way!" She exclaimed getting back to her feet and doing a dramatic spin. She swatted Finley's arm as he proceeded to tell her to watch she fed the dog. "Oh shush Finfin! Don't say that, she is a perfect princess and she does enough exercise. No body shaming allowed." Grinning at her friend she grabbed his arm pulling towards the door. "Now let's go both of you I am dying to see the Great Hall and dance and eat!" The Gryffindor's voice was filled with excitement as she pulled them towards the door. "Do you like my outfit by the way? I thought it was cute, it's not too fancy but not my usual attire either so a little more special!"

Finley grinned at Mania, shaking his head. “She should love me more, I’ve known her longer!” Though it was true he’d been trying to put her on a diet and she clearly wasn’t a fan of that because Mania kept giving her treats. He shook his head at the thought, wondering how he managed to even get to this point with Lemon. Still, she did love him, she slept on his bed most of the time, unless she’d managed to sneak out to someone else before he could get ot her. “Body shaming,” he said, shaking his head. It wasn’t body shaming if he was trying to keep her from going all rolly polly. He followed her as she grabbed his arm though, nodding with her. “Yes, me too, I heard it’s going to be all pink,” he wasn’t so much a fan of that but he did like the idea of a dance and who didn’t like the idea of a dance honestly? He bet everyone would look so nice in their dresses. “I love it, the top is so cute,” he added when she asked him, looking over at her properly. He hadn’t really noticed before, but he definitely thought she looked cute. Lemon trotted along behind them, tail wagging happily.

Mania rolled her eyes, so dramatic. "Honestly, dogs do seem to love with their tummies, whoever keeps it full is the one subjected to most of the love." She shrugged her shoulders, as if that was a given. Her mum had said something similar about men, or more specifically her dad, before. It did make sense, to feel more connected to people that fed you probably after all all humans loved their parents from the start and part of it was probably because they cared for them and fed them. Nia grinned at Finfin's tone about the body shaming comment. Pulling him through the hallways she nodded and smiled, "I sure hope it is! It's valentines after all and that's sort of the theme colour yeah?" It wasn't her favourite colour but it wasn't the worst either. Smiling at the compliment of her outfit Nia was very proud. "Yes good I was going for cute so glad the point got across then!" The Gryffindor nodded, leading them towards the great hall excitedly. This was definitely going to be so much fun and Nia would take whatever would come her way with open arms. "Oh! Maybe we can teach Lemlem how to dance? She will look so cute also here wait." Nia stopped walking completely, they were almost at the Great Hall but Lemon needed something cute too. She took the pink ribbons around her wrists and made little bows on Lemon's ears, whether the dog hated it or liked it was a mystery for now, though the first year had left them loose enough they shouldn't bother her and need be all it took was one scratch and it was gone. "Oh you look so pretttyyyy" Mania finally cooed to the pretty pretty lady before her.
