kitchen time chaos

"Arigato!" she happily exclaimed when her senpai had told her that he would support her. "Then I should support Nii-san in becoming Kamen Rider, ne?" Ai said as she gave her senpai a slight wink. Ai was worried when Ryuuji-niisan had gotten hurt from touching the cookies that just came out of the oven. "Yoroshi? Maybe you need a bandage?" she said worriedly. When her senpai had told her that he was really clumsy, Ai couldn't help but giggle. "Hai, anata wa sodesu. Just like Onii-chan." she told her senpai while remembering how her brother would also mess up in the kitchen.

While the two students were talking, a little house elf approached them and handed the young Ravenclaw a glass of water which he had gracefully took. Come to think of it, he hadn't drink anything since earlier, really, time sure does fly when one is enjoying. Drinking some water, Ryuuji listened as the younger girl talk, only to choke when he heard her statement. "Kamen Rider? Honto ni Ai-chan, it's embarrassing." He said laughing a little as he wipe the side of his mouth. It was just a childish dream of his really, and it wasn't even achievable. Well, alright, he's capable of doing magic, but well, the thought of his wearing the same thing that Kamen rider wears just seemed so...weird. Well, it was his old dream, but even so, his sister would surely laugh at this when she heard of this story. "Daijoubou Ai-chan.. Nii-san doesn't need a bandage, see, it's fine!" The ravenclaw gladly proclaimed as he showed her his hand, his fingertips were a bit red, but nothing to really worry about.

Ai watched as the older boy accept the glass of water offered to him. The elf was kind and Ai knelt down and told the elf, "Arigato. Thank you very much," she said with gratefulness. Ai watched as the older boy slowly drank the water and suddenly choke because of her state. "Ah! Gomen, gomen Ryuuji-niisan. Daijobu?" she asked while stroking the back of her senpai. Ai was still worried even if the Ravenclaw told her that he didn't need a bandage and showed her his finger. "Karera wa hontoni akai ne. You're fingertips, I mean. You sure you're alright?" she asked her senpai again just to be sure of his condition.

"Daijoubou, daijoubou.... just a little surprised, but I appreciate the support Ai-chan." The ravenclaw said as he coughed a little, putting the now empty glass down at the table. The house elves were not really bothering them right now, all were too busy with their own chores. Too busy to even probably see what it was that is happening around them. The little coughs of the young boy then turned into laughter when he remembered the girl's statement. It was just too out of the blue, and really, really, surprising indeed. Not in a bad way of course, just, a little fun probably. "Hmm." Ryuuji nodded as he touched his fingertips with his other hand, it feels a little numb, but he's sure that the numbness will go away later. "It's okay really, let's see the cookies ne?"

The young Hufflepuff watch as her senpai coughed. Ryuuji-niisan was now recovering from being choked up in water. And this event was all thanks to a statement Ai had said that probably came out of the blue. The girl watched as Ryuuji-niisan touch his fingertips and said that he was alright. He then asked Ai for them to take a look at the cookies. "Hai," she said. Ai approached the cookies they had left behind and touched one, "Ittai! Atsui," she exclaimed. It was a bit hotter than she thought but it would be just fine. She grabbed a spatula and began moving the cookies from the cookie sheet on to a plate. Although, touching the cookie sheet in a few chances, she just withstood the pain like she always would. "Ittai!" she whispered hoping that the older boy wouldn't here her. "They're ready, Ryuuji-niisan. Chuibukai. They're hot," she reminded the boy.

"Ai-chan, daijoubou ka?" Ryuuji asked, obviously worried for the younger girl. It seemed that just like him, her fingers got burned by the cookies, really, these little cookies were playing tricks with them. They're going to pay later, once the two ate them already. These ridiculous thoughts passed Ryuuji's mind as he placed a hand on the younger girl's shoulder, trying to take her attention away from these innocent looking cookies. "They really are hot ne?" He said like a little kid a eyes the said cookies, as if daring them to talk back against him. He then poked one of them, careful not to get burned again. "They seemed really delicious though, maa.. they should cool down soon enough." He added, fanning the cookies with his hands. He's quite hungry already really, but then, it would hurt if it would be his tongue which will be burned by these cookies, right?

"Ah, hai. Daijobu. I'm used to getting burned. Shinpai shinaide, Ryuuji-niisan," Ai confirmed to her senpai. Ai didn't want her senpai to worry so she just kept silent for the moment as she continued transferring the cookies they had baked, "Hai, they are really hot," she added to Ryuuji-niisan's remark. Ai watched as her senpai tried to fan the cookies and Ai said, "Saa, they would be a bit hot, but the hotness is quite right for eating now," she told her senpai who seemed really hungry at the moment.

"Honto ni?" Ryuuji was actually a bit wary of touching the cookies now, he's not really that fond of the idea of getting burnt again, but then again, the idea of getting to eat already is more powerful than that worry, well, it seemed like the cookies were really delicious after all, it was Ai who had baked it. "Are you sure?" He asked once again before he picked one. "Ah.. hai, it's not that hot anymore." He continued then as he held the cookie in front of him, blowing into it as he tried to cool it down even more. "Oishii Ai-chan!" He exclaimed, it was true, really true indeed. The cookies were freshly baked and were really delicious indeed, and just like what the younger girl had said, its hotness were already perfect for eating.

Ai nodded when her senpai had asked her if the cookies were really ready to be eaten. She couldn't help but smile at her senpai who looked wary of touching the cookies. "Hai, daijobu. Shinpai shinaide. Try one," she told her senpai encouraging him to try the cookies. Ai watched as her senpai picked a cookie, blew it and ate it. Ai couldn't help but smile when her senpai told her that it was delicious. "Arigato," she said as she picked a cookie of her own and started eating it. Ai also found it delicious, the sweetness, the texture and the hotness were indeed perfect to eat.

<COLOR color="#000">"This would go well with a warm milk or something." The young Ravenclaw said as he finished his first cookie, turning around to look for some milk. It's probably not the best food for lunch, but then again, it was delicious, so it would be fine, it would be able to satisfy his hunger already. He then took two glasses and poured the content of the bottle of milk which he had found in the counter. "Would you like one Ai-chan?" He asked, pushing one of the glasses to the young girl's direction before he took one more piece of cookie and dipped it into the milk. "Oishii desu yo." He exclaimed once more, turning his head a little to the side to check what the house elves are doing. "Ne, minna-san, eto.. everyone, would you like to have some?" He asked, smiling at these industrious little creatures, he doubt that they will eat with them though, as they were too busy with their chores, but then again, inviting them would not be that bad though, after all, they are now in the house elves' territory.

</i>

The young girl nodded in agreement when her senpai had claimed that the cookies would go well with warm milk. Ai watched as Ryuuji-niisan poured milk to the glasses and offered her some milk as well. "Arigato, Ryuuji-niisan," she said as she accepted the glass of milk given to her by her senpai. She dipped the cookie like her senpai did and took a bite. She nodded when her senpai said that it was delicious, "Hai, oishii," she exclaimed. Ai watched as the older Ravenclaw invited the house elves to have some cookies. "Hai, hai. Minna-san should try some so they can have strength to do chores, ne," she told the house elves while offering them some cookies.

"You're very much welcome Ai-chan." Ryuuji said as he pat the younger girl's head once more. He continued eating, filling his empty stomach with the delights that the younger girl had baked, it was, indeed, really delicious if he may say so. Much delicious that the ones that he can make if he'll be capable of baking one. "Ai-chan should teach me how to bake some time." He said as he took a cookie once more and dipped it into his milk again. He then cupped his chin with one of his hands, elbow resting on the surface before him. "Saa... Ai-chan, do you have anything to do later?" He asked absentmindedly as his eyes were focused on the creatures around them. He figured that the younger girl might have other things that she wanted to do aside from spending her time with him.

Ai smiled as the older boy patted her head. She was used to it now, and for her, it was important. It showed the young girl that her very existence meant even just a little for her new friend. These thoughts swayed in her mind as she continued eating cookies and drinking the milk that was offered to her. "Hai, I hope Ryuuji-niisan can learn," she told her senpai, "Unlike Onii-chan, who is, up till now is hopeless in the kitchen," she whispered as she continued eating the snack that were just made. The question Ryuuji-niisan had just asked made Ai think for a bit, "I don't have any," she answered. "Doushite, Nii-san?" she asked curiously, after all she can spend the whole day with her senpai if she didn't bother him. Being with her senpai made her feel comfortable and that was something she had not felt for a long time.

Ryuuji laughed at the younger girl's comment, really, him and Ai's twin brother are just too similar, surely, they'll get along once they meet each other. Aside from Sports and their protectiveness over their loved ones, the two seemed to be hopeless when it comes to kitchen works too, or probably, any household chores for that matter. "I'm no different, even my sister had given up on teaching me all these stuff." He said in between his laughs, thinking back on the times when he would disturb his sister back then in their kitchen. Every day seemed like a disaster then, flour all over him, cracked eggs on the floor, there was even a time when he had almost burned down their house, thus resulting to him being banned by his sister from their kitchen. Ryuuji's a fast learner, but it seemed that when it comes to stuff like cooking, he's hopeless. A truly awkward cook. "Hm? No reason really. Just wondering about how you spend your day." Though he felt attached to the younger girl already, he still have lots of things that he wanted to learn about her, things that he may be able to learn only by spending time with her and talking to her.

Ai could just imagine her senpai's skill at cooking that even his own sister would give up on him. And Ai could just smile at the thought. "So, shall I teach Ryuuji-niisan as well. Let's not give up, ne?" she told the older boy encouraging him with a smile. "Is Ryuuji-niisan helpless or helpful in other chores?" the young girl asked curiously. Her curiousness and honesty is something that she is fond of and she had already used it on this kind senpai of her. Ai listened as Ryuuji-niisan told her that he was just wondering how she spent her day. "Saa, at the library reading, perhaps. Or maybe wandering the castle or the Great Lawn. I also spend a lot of time in my room or in the common room reading." she told her senpai. "How about Ryuuji-niisan," she asked innocently at the senpai right in front of her.

"Giving up doesn't exist in my vocabulary Ai-chan.. I don't give up, it's just my sister who had given up on me. And if Ai-chan's willing to teach me, then of course, Nii-san would be truly grateful to learn." Ryuuji really appreciates everything that the younger girl does for him. And though he seemed to he hopeless with this stuff, it's not like he'll be giving up on it that easily too, right? He's willing to learn, though, that could mean that he'll endanger the whole kitchen, hopefully though, if such case happen, there won't be any professor around, or else, he'll lose his house some points. Something that he wouldn't want to risk. "Etto... helpless?" That came out as a whisper, as Ryuuji raised a hand to scratch the back of his head, quite embarrassed for being of no use when it comes to household chores at all. Well, simple sweeping of the floor wouldn't be that hard for him though, but anything more than that, NO. The fact that his family is quite rich had probably added to him being clumsy with chores probably. "Hmm... reading. That's everything that I do, though at times I wander around the castle too, though of course, I've never been to the forest."

"I see, so Ryuuji-niisan doesn't know how to give up," she told her senpai with a smile. "Want to start learning one now, Nii-san?" the young girl asked with a playful smile on her face. She was willing to teach her senpai cooking and baking, and she won't mind at all. When her senpai had whispered, Ai immediately apologized. "Ah! Gomenasai. I didn't mean to put it that way. It was rude of me," she said as she bowed down her head. It was indeed rude of her and she was quite ashamed of that. The young Hufflepuff listened as her senapi told her that he had never been to the forest, and, of course she had never gone there as well. "I haven't gone there as well. Although, I've gone to the cliffs once," she told her senpai. It was the truth and she felt that she didn't need to hide it from the older boy.

"Well... I guess so." Giving up on something is not something that Ryuuji would do, unless of course, not letting go would mean that he have to step on someone else. Ryuuji is someone who's willing to do anything just to achieve his goals, but when it comes to a case where in there's a possibility that he could hurt someone else, he won't do it. The only way that Ryuuji would probably give up on something is when there is a possibility that he would hurt someone. "If Ai-chan would be willing to teach me now, then of course, Nii-san would want to learn now." He said happily, as if he was a little kid who's looking forward to buying a new toy. It might be the same as his sister, he might endanger the castle's kitchen, but well, it wouldn't hurt to try learning now. "Ie... There's no need to apologize Ai-chan, you did no wrong." Ryuuji waved his hands in front of him, quite worried that he might have upset the younger girl. There really is no need to ask for apology. Well, his reaction might have been misunderstood, but honestly, he wasn't offended or anything. "Eh? What did you do at the cliffs Ai-chan?' He was curious, really curious indeed. He haven't gone to the cliffs yet, that is, if his memory serves him right.

Ai smiled when she knew that her senpai doesn't give up so easily. But, the young girl was even more happy that the older boy was willing to learn right now under her guidance. Ai had just finished her portion of the cookies and her milk, so she took the dishes and washed them spotless. The Hufflepuff searched through the cupboards and said, "Saa, what would Ryuuji-niisan like to learn to bake?" she asked quite curiously, since, for now, she couldn't decide. The young girl was still quite ashamed of what she had said so she just whispered, "Hai." When her senpai had asked her what she was doing at the cliffs, she began to scan her memories. "Onii-chan took me there, to meet his friend. Demo, as always, I hid behind him again because I was shy," she told Ryuuji-niisan.

Ryuuji paused for a bit, raising his hands in front of him before he joined them together, fingertips touching - each finger with the corresponding digit of the other hand, pointing upwards like the rafters of a tall church roof. His fingers are spread, relaxed and curved. He pushed his fingers together, then relaxed them again - like a spider doing press-ups on a mirror. He was deep in thought. And no, he wasn't thinking about a topic for an essay or an answer for a homework that he had barely done, he was thinking of something more complicated than that: baking. Being someone who barely knows a thing about cooking despite his effort in trying to learn that said task, he doesn't really have a single idea about what type of cake or whatever it was that they should bake. Maybe they should start with something basic, for he was sure that if he jumped off to complicated baking, he'll set the kitchen on fire, which wouldn't be good at all. He wouldn't want to be punished, and no, he doesn't want to make his house loose some points. They were barely catching up as it is after all. "Eto.. Gomen ne Ai-chan... I don't really have anything in mind." He answered, rubbing the back of his head as he eyed the younger girl. And he was supposed to be the big brother figure now, really, at the moment, she seemed much older than he is with the way that he is acting. Ryuuji smiled as he listened to the girl talk about her adventures on the cliff if it could be called as one. It was indeed very much like her. From what he had seen so far, Ai's not a very sociable individual. He was actually quite lucky that he had managed to befriend her. "And how was that friend then?" He asked curiously, tilting his head a little to the side, smile still on his face.

Ai smiled as her senpai continued to think about which food to learn to bake first. And she coulnd't help but smile even more when her senpai didn't have anything in mind. It was indeed a hard task to let him think on what to bake first especially if the kitchen was to be endangered. "Gomen, gomen Ryuuji-niisan. How about chocolate cupcakes? I think they should be easy enough," she said as she looked at Ryuuji-niisan waiting for his opinion. "Eto. Well, I was pretty shy, so I didn't talk to him much. But, he seemed close to Onii-chan and was very kind as well," she told her senpai. She wasn't able to properly meet the person since she hid behind her brother almost instantly and when she came out of hiding, she continued to bow down her head. Thoughts started to swing on the young girl's mind as she looked at her senpai smiling.

Ryuuji panicked a little as the girl apologized once more, but that had instantly turned into a series of laughter from him. Seriously, he seemed to always panic whenever the younger girl would apologize or whenever she seemed to be depressed. Was being an older brother supposed to be like this then? If so, then it must be really interesting, though he wondered if he'd suffer from heart attack with all this panicking. "Ai-chan keeps on apologizing... honto ni... you've done nothing wrong." He said as he rubbed his eyes. Pausing to catch his breath as he finally stopped laughing. "Chocolate cupcakes seemed to be a good idea..." Well, the baking task may not be as simple as the name of the delight appears to be. It's a cake, though a smaller one after all. And though it might be a smaller version, he wondered if he'd be able to keep himself from being all clumsy again. Really, why was it that when he's in the presence of any cooking utensil, whenever he's in the kitchen faced with the task of anything related to cooking, he's being the opposite of himself; the usually calm, ever smiling Ryuuji turns into an awkward and clumsy one. Blame himself for being too helpless really. "Ai-chan's really a savior" He muttered absentmindedly as he fiddled with the end of his shirt before he reached to fix his messy hair. With the help of the younger girl, Ryuuji may learn to overcome this cooking monster challenge in front of him. He's not one to give up, and really, if he can help it, he won't leave this kitchen without him baking something decent. "Is that so? Which house was he in?" Ryuuji cannot help his curiosity. From what he could remember, both the twins were sorted in the Hufflepuff house, so, the friend must be from the said house too. But then again, it's not unusual to befriend someone from the other houses too after all. It's probably a Gryffindor or a Ravenclaw just like himself. A Slytherin? He had doubts but it could also be a possibility.

Ai was surprised when her senpai had laughed when she apologized. Ryuuji-niisan had told her that she had done nothing wrong, yet, Ai just shook her head. "Ie, I made Ryuuji-niisan think on what he wanted to try baking, but he doesn't know yet what he can do," she said honestly. Maybe too honest, in fact. It just came right off her mouth, but what's done is done. Ai nodded when her senpai had told her that chocolate cupcakes were a good idea. "Saa, if I remember correctly, they are easy to bake yet, there are a lot of ingredients," she said as she tried to remember them one by one. "We need flour, sugar, unsweetened cocoa powder, salt. baking soda, vegetable oil, water, vinegar, vanilla extract, cream cheese, egg, and some semisweet chocolate chips," she said. It was indeed a lot, but it was a tiny price to pay for a delicious sweet about to be made. Ai barely heard her senpai telling her that she was a savior, "Ryuuji-niisan is one too," she said and she meant what she had said. "He was a Hufflepuff, as well," she said and tried to remember her brother's friend.

"Oh.. but thinking is good..." Those words came from the young Ravenclaw before he could actually stopped himself. Seriously, he should learn how to control his mouth too. He's been saying his thoughts out loud a lot recently. And though it may not be that bad, it's somehow embarrassing sometimes. Especially if his thoughts were all too random and not making sense at all too. "Thinking about something is good, your brain works, and somehow, you discover things, and learn the things that you need to learn too. Just like now, I tried to think of anything that I can bake, and I realized I don't have an idea at all.. it helps, right?" He said in a sing song voice, smiling before he laughed again. "I'm not making any sense at all, ne Ai-chan? Forget everything that Nii-san had said." He waved his hands before him, as if erasing the invisible words that are floating around, as if by doing such, it would be like he hadn't said anything at all.

Ryuuji Stopped and rubbed his chin as he listened to the younger girl list off the ingredients that they would need. There was indeed a lot, but it would be all worth it. At least, he hope so. He'll try his best not to waste this oh so precious ingredients. And besides, he didn't want to anger the house elves and be pushed away from the kitchen and be banned from going there for the rest of his Hogwarts years. "We'll find them all here, right?" He then scanned the cabinets, looking for the things that they need. He had already brought out the flour earlier, and he assumed that there's still enough left from earlier. "First year?" Ryuuji asked before he could stop himself again. Hopefully, he's not overstepping his boundaries, and he's not making the younger girl uncomfortable from asking a lot of questions from her. It's probably something that brothers do for their younger sister right? Being protective and all? At least, he so wished that he's not be over the top then.

Ai laughed when her senpai had told her that thinking was good. And, he definitely had a long explanation on it. "Ie, what Ryuuji-niisan said was right," she said, catching her breath from laughing. Ai nodded her head, the school was magical and the food had ingredients very familiar to Ai, so she was sure that what they needed would be somewhere in the kitchen, "We can use the remaining ingredients from the cookies a while ago. So, we only need to find the cocoa powder, vegetable oil, vinegar, cream cheese, and the semisweet chocolate chips, since we used a different kind of chocolate chips a while ago," she said as she scanned some of the cabinets. "Nii-san! I found the cheese and the chocolate chips," she called out since she was already a bit far from her senpai thanks to searching the cabinets. Ai approached Ryuuji-niisan just in time to hear him ask if her brother's friend was a first year and Ai nodded in agreement, "If I remember correctly, Onii-chan met him in the North Tower as well," she told her senpai. It was a wonderful thought that they both met wonderful friends in the North Tower and she couldn't help but smile.
