<COLOR color="#000">It was late, probably past noon already, and the sun was already at its highest position, shining warmly on every being in existence. Students lounge around the halls, some are running to catch up with their classes, some are crowding around with their peers, some are bullying an innocent first year, and there are some who are just sitting by themselves. Ryuuji Tsukino, does not belong to any of those people. He didn't have any class to attend to, nor does he have any interest on bullying some other people. And, he was definitely not alone. In fact, accompanying him right now on his venture to the magnificent kitchen of the castle was a young hufflepuff, Ai Edogawa. Ryuuji met the younger girl hours earlier, when he was planning to get down the kitchen to have some chat with the elves which had been left forgotten because of him unexpectedly bumping into a wall. A wall whom he had quickly engaged with a one sided glaring contest. And just as he was about to get eaten by his boredom, this little angel clad in a robe with the crest of the house known for their loyalty and kindness, had save him from that pit. And now, after a long but fun conversation with her, they are already walking their way to their next destination: the kitchen. "Hayaku Ai-chan." The young Ravenclaw said as he gestured to the younger girl, he was hungry, definitely hunger indeed. They weren't able to eat anything at all as they hardly noticed the time as they talked about lots of things earlier. Only did they noticed it when their stomachs decided to form a band and make a sound, complaining to their respective owners that they needed to eat. As they reached the kitchens, as what Ryuuji had expected, the house elves greeted them eagerly, probably happy to have someone visiting them.

Ai had passed by a lot of students. She was on the move following a very close friend of hers, although she just met him a few hours ago. Ai watched the student hurrying to get to their classes and others bullying fellow students. Ai hurriedly passed every sight she saw. She was exhausted and hungry. Exhausted from the long walk from the towers where she had accidentally met a Ravenclaw student, who indeed, became her friend. She was hungry for in the past hours that they chatted, the Hufflepuff girl had forgotten to eat and just continued enjoying the conversation. She only noticed her hunger, when her stomach growled, just like what her older friend did. And now, she was approaching the kitchen with her friend who had just shouted for her to hurry up, "Hai, hai, Ryuuji-niisan," she replied. When they arrived at the kitchen, she was amazed for its been a long time since she entered a kitchen once again and she smiled at the elves who had came to greet them.

<COLOR color="#000">Ryuuji smiled at the magnificence before him. House elves running around, doing all chores that one could ever imagine. There are some who are cooking for whoever it was, there are some who are cleaning even the tiniest corner of the room, anywhere you look, everyone is just too busy. But what amazes him the most was that, despite the house elves being so busy, they still seemed to enjoy whatever they do. There's no hint of resentment or laziness at all. It seemed that the thought of quitting or complaining hadn't even crossed these beings' minds. That despite them working all the time, they didn't even wish for a vacation of some sort. Truly, truly dedicated to their works. Magnificent, isn't it?

With a beam, Ryuuji happily choose a sit in the long table situated in the kitchens. It was a wonder, how the foods that were being cooked there would magically transport itself to the tables in the great hall. Just how great magic is. Patting the seat next to him, Ryuuji called out for the younger girl, before he turned his attention to one of the house elves once more. "Eto, can we have something to eat please?" He said with utmost respect, joining his hands in front of him as if in a gesture of a prayer. Though these elves were one who seemed to exist just to serve their masters, Ryuuji knows that they reserve respect too, that no matter how low they seemed to be, they're creatures to admire too. "What does Ai-chan want?"
<i>
</i>

Ai looked with amusement as she watched the house elves working. They seemed happy with what they were doing, and that was what's important for Ai. She watched as the elves work, some cooking, some cleaning. Different chores each of them does happily. No one was lazy and no one was complaining. Ai watched in amusement as each house elf in the kitchen enjoyed what they were doing. Ai took a seat beside her senpai and watched as Ryuuji-niisan asked for something to eat. Ryuuji-niisan asked Ai what she wanted to eat. Ai smiled at her senpai and turned to the house elf. "Anything that you would like to cook. Let me help, okay. Onegai. If that's alright, of course," she told the house elf. Ai wanted to know what food will the house elf be preparing for her. It doesn't matter what it would be, it would be a surprise treat for her.

<COLOR color="#000">The younger girl seemed to be quite eager to do her works in the kitchen, and Ryuuji, being her older brother, would be more than willing to help her too. If she wanted to cook, then why not? It would be better if they were the ones to prepare their foods after all. Just like what his mother would often say, food is more delicious when you made it on your own, with all of your efforts, despite it not being that good at all. With a light laugh, Ryuuji stood from his seat, patting the little house elf on the head before he checked the cupboards. "Eto, you don't have to serve us, demo, can we use your kitchen for an house or two?" He asked, still with politeness as he continued to look thought the cabinets, looking for anything that comes to mind. It wouldn't hurt to experiment would it? Maybe, they could even come up with a new type of food. The thought brought a mischievous smile at the young Ravenclaw's face. "Let's bake something Ai-chan!" He exclaimed, with a bag of flour in one hand. The houseleves didn't seemed to particularly mind him invading their cabinets after all, besides, he'd been doing it for quite sometime too, the house elves had been used to him experimenting on the kitchens it seemed.
<i>
</i>

Ai was glad that her senpai had agreed for them to use the kitchen. She watched as her senpai looked through the cupboards searching for something. Ai wondered what her senpai had been searching for. While her senpai had been busy looking for something in the cupboards, Ai tied her hair into a ponytail, to get ready for cooking. When Ryuuji-niisan had finally found what he was looking for, Ai saw that it was a bag of flour, and he was inviting Ai to bake something. "Hai, hai. Let's bake some cookies, Ryuuji-niisan. Demo, don't destroy the kitchen. The smile of yours is coming out again," she told her senpai as she tried hard not to laugh. Ai had seen her senpai's smile when he was planning something and when he was joking with her. And, when she saw that smile again, she couldn't help but wonder what her senpai was planning to do.

Hearing the younger girl's comment, Ryuuji set the flour down at the table, crossing his arms in front of his chest, he feigned a hurt look as he turned to face her, "Mou, Ai-chan... what smile are you talking about? Nii-san is perfectly innocent, see?" He said, showing both of his hands to the younger girl as he smiled, his eyes lightly closed at the said expression. The girl seemed to understand now how his mind works, or how his smile would turn to a catlike one whenever he was planning something that is not really that good. He dropped the pretense and took the things that they needed for the task that they are about to do. He then checked everything, seeing whether they are missing something. "Saa... flour, check, eggs, check, sugar, check... Ai-chan, what else do we need?" He asked the younger girl. Though he was planning to bake, he has no idea about the thing that they were supposed to do at all. Ai said that they'll bake cookies, though whatever kind, it's up to their creative imaginations now.

Ai smiled at her senpai's reaction, "Hai, hai. Ryuuji-niisan is innocent." she said. The Hufflepuff girl watched as her senpai collected some ingredients. She checked the ingredients that her senpai had brought out. She smiled and started looking through the cupboards, "Saa. We're making chocolate chip cookies since those are the ones I do best. We still need butter, brown sugar, vanilla extract, baking soda, salt, chocolate chips and milk," she said. Ai found all the ingredients on random cupboards and settled the ingredients on the counter. Her hair came loose, so she had to tie it again. She looked at the ingredients and said, "Now, we're all set!" And once again, her hair came loose, bothering her once again. Although being bothered by her hair, she just left it the way it was and got a bowl and some measuring cups to start making the cookies.

<COLOR color="#000">Ryuuji took a step back as he watched the younger girl search for the other ingredients which they would need for them to be able to come up with a decent chocolate chip cookie. There's a lot that they need, and it seemed to take so much work too, no wonder why his sister would never let him near the kitchen when she's baking something. The young Ravenclaw's curiosity is not something which she likes to be around whenever she cooks after all. "This is sweet." He said as he opened the bottle of vanilla, it smells nice too if he may add. With a smile, the young ravenclaw rolled up his sleeves, clapping his hands before he grabbed the bag of flour once more. "Saa... shall we start then, chef Ai?" He clapped his hands once again, and in a matter of seconds, poured the innocent flour into the bowl. The flour exploded into a white dusty cloud when it plunked into the large cooking bowl. This initiated a string of coughs from the awkward cook, who waved his hand back and forth in front of his face to clear the air. He then turned to the younger girl near him. A few seconds of silence passed before the Ravenclaw began laughing. "Ai-chan, your hair's white.." He exclaimed, still laughing continuously. The incident earlier had seemed to have affected the young girl too, though, not knowing it, he himself, was actually much more covered in flour. His silky black hair now turned to white, and some parts of his face covered with the white powder too.
<i>
</i>

Ai watched as her Ravenclaw senpai looked at the ingredients. Before she could say a word, Ryuuji-niisan had already poured the floor into the bowl and the flour had exploded to a cloud. Ai was coughing and waving her hand back and forth trying to keep the cloud away, but it was to no avail. A few minutes later, she began to hear laughter from her senpai. When Ai looked at her hair it was white, "Mou! This is why I like to tie up my hair when cooking," she said while pouting. But then, she saw Ryuuji-niisan covered with flour himself, and she burst into laughter. "Gomen, gomen. It's because Ryuuji-niisan put in straight in the bowl," she said with a smile on her face. Ai fetched another bowl and a strainer. She put the flour on the strainer and added a little salt and baking soda. She then patted the strainer a few times over the other bowl and told her senpai, "See, we don't put it straight in the bowl, otherwise this is what will happen," as she pointed on her senpai's face and her own hair.

Ryuuji was a bit confused when the younger girl burst into laughter too. Was he covered with the white powder too? Trying to stop his laughter, the young Ravenclaw checked his reflection in the glass cabinet, surely, it's not that clear, but it's enough for him to see that he was, indeed, covered up with the said substance. "Mou, I look like an old man." He said as he stared at himself in the mirror, before he turned to face the younger girl once more and placed his hands on his hips. "You! Respect your elders." He said, frowning a little in a failed imitation of how his old grandfather would scold them at times. He laughed once more as he shook his head, trying to get rid of the flour on his hair. He dusted his clothes as he watched the younger girl do what it was that they were supposed to do. So it was indeed his fault then. He really is an awkward cook. He might be able in other things, like sports and studying, but kitchen works, no. "Ah.. Ai-chan's a great cook eh?" He exclaimed as he approached her, watching her with the same interest that a little kid had. "Ai-chan will make a great wife then." He added once more as he continued to watch her.

Ai laughed at her senpai's remark. He indeed looked like an old man, "Hai, hai. Let us respect, Ryuuji Ojii-chan," she said as she laughed at her senpai. Ai had just finished mixing the flour, salt and baking soda and was now moving on to mix beated butter, brown sugar and the white sugar. Suddenly, Ryuuji-niisan told her that she was a great cook, "Well, I'm the one who cooks when the Detective Boys go camping or on picnics," she said as she remembered the time she spent with her friends. A while later, Ryuuji-niisan had told her that she would make a good wife. "Eh? EH!" she exclaimed with surprised as her face turned red.

The young Ravenclaw pouted when he heard the younger girl's remarks. He indeed looked like an old man, which was a weird thought for him. He's only fourteen and surely, he have long way to go before he would reach that age where in his skin would have wrinkles and his hair would turn white. though of course, with that ability of his, he can definitely take the appearance of an old man even at this moment. But he fears it though, what if he won't be able to return to his normal self? would he stay like an old man whose age was just fourteen forever? That thought really scares him a bit. Ryuuji followed the girl's every movement, as if memorizing every step that she does. Well, who knows, he might need this cooking skill some time, right? His face bore that serious expression, as if he was inside a class and the younger girl was his mentor. "Detective.....boys?" He asked in wonder, he doesn't remember her telling him something about that at all. From the sounds of it, it seemed to be composed of kids who run around solving different mysteries, quite an adventure then, right? But there's something wrong about the name though, if Ai's a member, then why call it detective boys then? The faint red in the girl's face though had made the older boy a bit confused, did he say something that had embarrassed her once again? "Doushite Ai-chan? It's true, you'll make a great wife.. Mitsuhiko-kun's really lucky na?"

Ai had already finished mixing and now added the vanilla and milk mixing them as she spoke. "Ah, hai. Detective Boys is Onii-chan's group. There are five members. Me, Onii-chan, Mitsuhiko-kun, Ayumi-chan and Genta-kun. We help our schoolmates find lost pets and other things. Of course, we get wind up in real life cases, as well." she said. Ai reached for her pocket and showed Ryuuji-niisan a badge. "It is also a communication and tracking device, invented by Oji-chan himself," she explained. Ai continued mixing then added the eggs in the mixture and continued mixing. She turned even redder, but a sad look came in her eyes. "Ie, it's nothing. Hai, I may be able to. Demo, not for Mitsuhiko-kun," she said and smiled at her senpai as she continued mixing the batter.

"Saa.. your group sounds really interesting Ai-chan." Ryuuji said. It must have been fun really. Helping other people, doing things with your friends, it must have been full of excitement, full of adventures that he would really want to experience. But then again, back at their home, he'd just head home straight, so such thing has no room at all. It must have been good to be so young eh? Not that he was already old of course, after all, he's still really young too. "real life cases?" He asked as he looked at the badge that had just been shown to him by the younger girl. So, they have this sort of emblem too eh? Interesting, interesting indeed. The younger girl had said that it was some sort of communication and tracking device, really, just the awesome things that muggles are capable of doing. Of course, he's perfectly knowledgeable of these technologies as he had been raised in the muggle world, but then, experiencing the life of a wizard had made him admire these non-magical folks, the way that they do things to make their lives easier. Really admirable indeed. The change in the girl's expression had somehow worried the Ravenclaw. Had he offended her or something? He wasn't exactly sure. He should really be careful with his words next time. "Eto.. if you don't mind me asking, why not Mitsuhiko-kun, Ai-chan?"

"It is and it's more fun when we capture the criminals for real life cases and find the lost things," she said as she smiled at her senpai. Ai now combined the batter, the flour mixture and the chocolate chips. She continued mixing them until it was a thick dough. "Hai, real life cases. Hmm. The kidnappings included, of course. Two times bank robberies and other kidnapping cases where we stumble upon once in a while," she told her senpai. Now that the dough was done she had been halfway finished to putting the dough on the cookie sheet. And she had already preheated the oven moments ago. "Well, that's simply because, Mitsuhiko-kun likes Ayumi-chan," she said. "Saa, Ryuuji-niisan, let's go put this in the oven now," she said as she smiled at her senpai and they put the cookies in the oven together.

"That's a bit dangerous Ai-chan.. though it sounds really really fun too." The way that the girl said it, it was obvious that she enjoys these adventures of hers with her friends, and though it could probably endanger their lives, they still went through with it. Such courageous young people they are. It was admirable, really admirable indeed, cause they are just like, what? eleven years old right? And still, they can do all of these amazing feat.. really really interesting. "I wasn't any help at all.." Ryuuji then commented as he watched the younger girl combined all the other ingredients. She's almost done with the cookies that they were baking-correction-the cookies that she was baking. After all, he hadn't helped a single bit, in fact, he had caused a disturbance earlier with that amateur act of his of simply putting the flour in the bowl without any second thoughts, thus resulting to how he is still covered with the white powder until this very moment. But actually, it might have been really better than he haven't touched anything there at all, cause, despite how athletic and able he is in other things, cooking is probably his worst skill, an area that he really needs to improve. He'd been going to the kitchens frequently, yet, it seemed that despite the house elves sometime humoring him and teaching him the basic stuffs, he's still an awkward cook. "Unrequited love then.." He whispered under his breath. It might have hurt a lot, she was able to like someone at such a young age, yet, that love seemed to be one-sided only. For her to experience such thing, it's unthinkable. "Saa.. unrequited love or not though, at least, you experience it.. and someday.. someday, you'll find the right one for you." He cheered the younger girl up, patting her on the head thus transferring some of the flour in his hands to her. He then did as he was told, helping her put the cookies to the oven.

"Hai, it is. We've been doing it since we were seven. Although, I wasn't really friends with Ayumi-chan and the others yet. Got a lot of experience and it was really, really exciting," she said as she smiled at the younger boy. She remembered how often they would escape criminals then let them get caught by the police. It was, indeed exciting. But, getting hurt was not an exemption to the adventure, but, it seldom happens. Ai smiled when her senpai told her that he wasn't any help, "Well, Ryuuji-niisan accompanied me, and will taste my cooking. So, it's fine with me." she said. When her senpai told Ai that she would find the right one for her, she just smile and said, "Hai. You know, Onii-chan has troubles with that too," she said as she giggled at a memory that she just remembered.

"I wish I could have joined you." The young Ravenclaw said absentmindedly as he played with his sleeves. The thought of doing adventures with ones closest friends made him really excited and interested at the same time, just listening to the younger girl's story is even enough to make him really wish that he could have experienced the same thing. No, it's not that he was envious, he just thought that he could have been a kid at one point of his life instead of just being an heir to his father's company. He could have acted the same way that a kid would act, could have had fun with his friends as they go on adventures too. However, all of these could haves wouldn't be of help to him right now, what's done is done, and what he can only do is live on the present not on the past.

Ryuuji smiled at the younger girl as she told him that it's not like he hadn't been of any help to her at all, she's really good in lifting his spirits up. "Well.. I'm sure that it will taste good either way." He said as he showed a thumbs up in her direction, smiling and giving her a wink. It was fun, though he haven't really got the chance to do anything, just watching her mixed the ingredients and all had taken his boredom off, the boredom that had haunted him at the start of the day. "Oh, doushite?" He then asked as he was curious at this so called trouble that the male twin would encounter. Does he have someone that he likes too? A one sided love once more? Ryuuji's really interested in learning that fact.

"Hai, it would have been fun. Demo, Ryuuji-niisan could get hurt if he joined us," she told the older boy. Ai still remembered that whenever they encounter a case they seldom get home without any bruise or graze. But, major injuries were a lot seldom to happen. Ai smiled when her senpai had told her that the cookies would taste good. Ai looked at her watch and said, "Well, it should be ready in a few minutes." Ai giggled a bit when her senpai had asked her what her brother's problem was. "It's because Onii-chan's really uncomfortable. With Ayumi-chan liking him and kissing him on the cheek sometimes, then Genta-kun would chase him around," she said as she remembered one time that her brother had saved Ayumi-chan and as a reward, Ayumi-chan had kissed him on the cheek. Then a few moments later, her brother was being chased by Genta-kun. She giggled at the thought of it and continued waiting for the cookies to bake.

"I don't really mind getting hurt, if it means that I'll get to have fun." Ryuuji said with another smile. He appreciates that the younger girl is worried about the things that might happen to him once he join in their escapades, but then again, what's a few bruises when you get to have an awesome adventure right? It's not the fame or anything that he wanted, it's the fun and adventure that they get to experience. Getting chased around by criminals, helping other people, truly like a super hero indeed. "You know, when I was a small kid.." He started, gesturing and positioning hi hand to the side of his waist, as if telling her how tall he was back then, "When I was a little kid, when people ask me what I want to be when I grow up, I'd say, I want to be like Kamen Rider! and the obaa-sama would just laugh at me and tell me how funny I am." He then laughed, thinking back at the times when even his sister would tease him about it, back in those times when he would pretend that he was a super hero, sometimes, unconsciously using this given ability of his to change his appearance. Now that he had actually thought about it, his adoptive family have long known that he was different from them, yet, they still accepted him, right? Just how much do they really love him? "Oh, honto ni? That must have been scary." He said with a small smile as he imagined how the younger girl's twin must have looked like while his friend was chasing him around for something that he didn't really do or for something that is not really his fault.

"True enough," she told her senpai. Ai felt the same way, she didn't mind getting hurt at all. She just wanted to spend time having fun and protecting others. Ai listened as Ryuuji-niisan told her what his answer was as a child being asked what he wanted to be when he grew up. Ai thought back on what she had wanted to be when she grew up, it was a long time before she thought of it, "I wanted to be a doctor or a scientist," she told her senpai. Ai had always fancied Science and wouldn't mind taking a profession connected to it. When Ryuuji-niisan told her that it was scary getting chase by Genta-kun, Ai laughed, "Hai, it must have been. Genta-kun has a large body," she said gesturing her hands a bit far from her waist. When Ai looked at her watch, she already knew that the cookies were done. She grabbed a pair of cooking mitts, wore it and brought out the cookies. "Now we let it cool for a few minutes," she said as she laid the cookie sheet on the table.

<COLOR color="#000">"Doctor eh..to save lives?" It's probably the most common dream of little kids, to be a doctor, a teacher, a lawyer, things that would be of benefit to other people. It must have been fun right? Having those kinds of dreams with others in mind, those innocent goals that those children set for themselves. Really, children are such pure beings. "You still want it until now?' the young Ravenclaw asked. For him, the girl is really fit to be someone with a medical profession, she's caring, really caring indeed. And another thing, she seemed to care for the welfare of other people too, just like how she would worry for him at times. Yes, being a doctor indeed fits the younger girl's personality. Ryuuji on the other hand, is still unsure of what it was that he wanted to do once he graduated. Sure, he's to succeed their company, but then, what else? He wanted to make a name for himself, to be known on his own and not just because of his surname. Well, of course, being Kamen Rider is surely not an option.

When Ai gestured the size of her friend, the young ravenclaw cannot help but laugh, no, it's not because he was discriminating the said boy, rather, he found the girl's actions to be quite adorable. "And your twin's what, probably your size right?" He said, smiling lightly. He then watched as the younger girl pulled the freshly baked cookies out of the oven. They smell really good, and his stomach began to make that sound again, reminding him that he haven't eaten anything yet at the moment. He reached out for one, only to withdrew his hand again. "Ittai...hot." He said, sounding like a little kid as he blew on his fingers.
<i>
</i>

Ai nodded her head when her senpai asked her if she wanted to save lives as a doctor. Ai could still remember the times when her family would nurse her back to health whenever she was sick and she would shout that she wanted to be a doctor someday. "Hai, I still do," she answered. It would be fun studying and helping others in the future it would surely be an option for her. Ai was confused when Ryuuji-niisan suddenly laughed when she told him that Genta-kun had a large body, "Hai, about my size. Demo, maybe still a bit bigger since he can carry me," she told him. When Ai had brought out the cookies and took her eyes off them for a second she suddenly heard Ryuuji-niisan, when Ai looked her senpai had touched the cookies. "Nii-san, daijobu?" she asked and pulled her senpai's hand to the nearest sink washing it with water. "Mou, it's because Ryuuji-niisan wasn't listening. We should cool it first then remove it from the cookie sheet before you eat," she told her senpai. Ai found it a bit funny that her senpai was great in sports but hopeless in the kitchen, just like her brother. The thought of it made Ai laugh a bit.

"That's good then... Nii-san will support you." The young Ravenclaw said as he pat the younger girl's head once more. It's good to have a dream really, good to have a goal that you would want to achieve. At least, she knows what she wants in life, she need not to be confused about what she want to do anymore, unlike him, he'll be graduating soon, and yet, none, he doesn't know what he wanted yet. There's no point in worrying about that though, after all, he's one who lives in the present, never in the past, and it's not like worrying about the future would help him now. "Ah.. hai, daijoubou. Shinpai shinaide Ai-chan." He quickly said, shaking his hand a little as if that would help in getting rid of the pain. Its his fault, really his fault. The young girl had already warned him about it being still hot after all, and yet, he didn't listen. "Nii-san's really clumsy." He added, laughing a little at his stupid act.
