Fiona's mum had taken her and her big brother, Conan to the park. Conan was somewhere in the park, probably doing some sort of shell looking like he always did. But Fiona had found it boring. What was fun about finding stupid shells? Fiona had sat in the sandpit that was in the park. Her little legs spread out. She had a bucket and spade that she had found lying around in the sand bit. The girl had been laughing and digging a hole in the sand. Not caring that she was getting sand everywhere as well as getting dirty. She didn't care. She loved to get down and dirty. It was so much fun!

Summertime was Lucy's favourite time of year, and she liked to spend as much of it outside as possible. She was pleased when Dad had agreed to take her to the park, already excited for the adventures she was going to have there. As soon as they arrived Lucy was off like a shot, running full force towards the playground. She only slowed down as she approached, trying to figure out what to do first. The jungle gym was fun, but so was the slide, and there was so much to do in the sandpit. Eventually she settled on the sandpit, roaring in excitement as she ran into the pit, sand flying everywhere. She sat down with a thump and looked over to see what the other girl in the pit was doing. The hole she was digging looked cool, and Lucy immediately wondered if they could dig all the way through the earth from here. It would be easier to do if you were digging through sand instead of dirt. "Can I help?" She asked in excitement, scooting closer to the other girl and her project.

Fiona looked up when she heard a voice, asking if they could help. Fiona laughed and nodded. "Yes! You can help! Here!" Fiona says with a giggle as she clapped a little, and then handed another spade that she saw. "You can use this! Or your hands if you want" Fiona says with a little laugh before she continued to dig the huge hole she had started. She wondered what could be down there if she dug deep enough. Maybe she could enter the other side of the world! Maybe there could be treasure! They could discover so much gold! "What do you think we can find?" Fiona questions with excitement, hoping they would find something down there.

ainsley walked right past the park and was not part of this thread la la

Lucy beamed when the other girl said she could help, taking the offered spade excitedly. "Thanks!" She grinned and set about making the hole bigger, though Lucy quickly realised she couldn't get a good angle with the spade. So she set it aside and went to work with her hands instead, imagining she was a dog as she dug big piles of sand out of the hole. "I think we can dig a hole all the way to the other side of the world!" She said seriously, smiling. "It's gotta be easier digging through sand than dirt." She added, wondering why grown ups had never thought of this before.

Fiona laughed a little as the girl started to dig like a dog. "You look like a doggie" Fiona laughed a little. She thought it looked funny, but realised that digging like a dog was probably the better option to dig a bigger hole. Fiona decided to ditch the spade and use her hands instead. Fiona gasped dramatically as most five years olds did. "That sounds so cool! I wonder what's on the older side! Maybe we can find treasure on the way!" Fiona says with a giggle, as she continues to laugh. "My name is Fiona! And I'm five!" Fiona says with a smile as she pauses her digging to show how old she was. "What's your name?"

Lucy giggled as the other girl said she looked like a dog and joined in the digging. She was pretty sure this was a faster way to dig a hole than using a spade, and it was definitely more fun. Lucy hadn't even thought about treasure until the other girl mentioned it, nodding quickly in agreement. "Yeah! And then we can get all the treasure and be pirates!" She said in excitement, imagining what it would be like to sail around on a pirate ship with a big chest of treasure. Lucy grinned when the other girl introduced herself, pausing the digging to hold up a hand. "I'm Lucy! I'm five too!" She said proudly, showing how many fingers that was on her hand for emphasis before she returned to digging.

Fiona gasped and giggled when the girl had mentioned that they could be pirates. "Arrr, me matey!" Fiona says as she arches her finger to look like a hook. "Being pirates would be so fun! They have swords and eyepatches" Fiona says, as she stands up from her spot, as she holds an imaginary sword and covers her eyes with her sandy hands to show the eyepatch, before she sat down again and went back to digging the big hole. It was getting quite deep. "The hole is getting bigger! Maybe we're close to the other side!" Fiona says with a gasp and giggle. She had always wondered what was on the other side of the world! Fiona smiled and giggled when the girl had told Fiona her name. "Hi, Lucy! We're both five! Do you wanna be friends?" Fiona asked with a giggle. Fiona loved making new friends! It was so much fun!

Lucy giggled when Fiona made a pirate voice, nodding eagerly. "Yeah!" She said brightly, thinking of the two of them on their cool pirate ship, heading out to find treasure. "We could swing on the ropes on the boat and go out hunting for treasure!" She said in excitement, bouncing a little as she spoke. Looking down when Fiona pointed it out, Lucy nodded brightly. "We gotta keep digging it bigger!" She said seriously, trying to dig even faster. She grinned when Fiona asked to be friends, nodding eagerly. "Yeah! We can be friends so when we find treasure we can share it together!"

Fiona gasped in excitement when Lucy had mentioned that they could swing on the ropes of the boat and whatnot. "That sounds like fun! And we can look out towards the sea to see if there are any cool sea monsters! They might be trying to steal the treasure!" Fiona rambles on with excitement, as Fiona then went through the endless possibilities of them being pirates. Fiona nodded when Lucy had said that they had to keep digging, and so she began digging again, and quickly. She smiled widely when Lucy had agreed for them to be friends. "Yay! That sounds like a plan! What sort of treasure do you think there is?!"

Lucy's eyes widened at the mention of sea monsters, sitting up so she could swing an imaginary sword around. "And then we fight the sea monsters!" She said emphatically, holding her arms wide. Being a pirate and fighting off evil sea monsters trying to steal her treasure sounded like exactly the kind of life Lucy wanted to live. She knelt down to help out with the digging, thinking about treasure. "I bet there's a big chest full of gold and crystals and a crown!"

Fiona laughed as Lucy had mentioned that they could fight the sea monsters. "That would be super fun! What if they were hiding their own secret treasure in their underwater island? How would we get it?" Fiona said excitedly, as she thought of the endless possibilities of their pirate adventures. There were so many things that they could discover! Fiona gasped excitedly when Lucy had mentioned that there could be gold or crystals, or even a crown. "Oh, a crown! A crown with a lot of jewels on it! Maybe there's a lot of money in there too!" Fiona said with a big smile, as she then excitedly started to dig deeper into the hole.
