Ilvermorny Quidditch Practice!

Your action (hit) was successful!
...but the bludger went off course, and you hit another player, instead!

Eli frowned when he saw the other seeker had also managed to grab the snitch. Was being a seeker really that easy, or were they just incredibly lucky? Eli didn't much care, he flew over to a bludger and hit it, more for something to do than anything. He had hoped to aim at Adam, just because he was annoying, but the bludger hit Cayleigh instead. At least she had a bat to defend herself.

It seemed the team was working well, especially the seekers and AJ spent a few pleased moments watching them move around the pitch before realizing he should probably be doing something too. Wincing again in sympathy when he saw Eli slam a bludger into Cayleigh, he chased after it, able to line up a decent shot approaching it from head on, even if he had to repress every instinct not to flinch away as his bat connected. AJ watched impressed as the hit stayed on target, slamming directly into @Hope Thompson. "Oh, oh ouch, sorry, heads up, Hope!" He called out, a touch too late.

Einar pushed forwards with the quaffle, he had to ignore his thoughts and just focus on trying to score.

Avoiding the bludgers swerving past his ears, Noah continued his search for the golden snitch.

Despite lamenting at how much the bludger hits hurt, AJ was feel more and more confident swinging his bat around. Shooting around after the other bludger, AJ swung hard, hoping to even things out by sending the other one towards Noah. But between the bludger and the other beaters, it seemed the bludger had other ideas, slamming into @Eli Carter instead. AJ resisted the urge to apologize again. He felt less bad about hitting the other beaters, though not by much.

Eli scowled when AJ hit a bludger at him, and tried to hit it away. But he missed, getting hit in the arm instead. He gave AJ a dirty look, flying past him and bumping against his shoulder angrily.

Hope flew along and tried to find the snitch, she was distracted and than she felt a bludger hitting her in the back. It hurted really bad! It was a nasty thing that bludger, but a part of the game. But this wasn't helpfull for finding the snitch. She had to slow down for a moment but than flew further ignoring the pain.

Einar continued flying, pushing himself till he got close enough to the goals. He threw the ball, but the keeper seemed to catch it with ease. Einar cursed to himself quietly. He really wished he hadn't scored that first time, since he couldn't seem to do it again.

More and more people were getting hit by bludgers so to avoid all of it, or at least he hoped that he would, Noah flew higher and higher.

Watching people get hit by bludgers from the relative safety of the hoops was an amusing way to pass the practice. Adam's spectating was interrupted by that one kid again, and he managed to block the shot before tossing the quaffle back into play, waving for the chasers to hurry up and fly off for a while to leave him to chill.

AJ was eying up the other bludgers, trying to decide if he could head one of them off for another hit when Eli knocked him to him. It was kind of difficult to accidentally bump into someone like that without actually crashing, or at least AJ wasn't that good of a flyer, but he had a hunch it was on purpose and his stomach sank. Eli was scary and AJ didn't like the idea that he was mad at him over the bludger hit.

Eli scowled and flew away from the action, flying a lap before returning to follow one of the bludgers. He was supposed to be protecting players instead of hitting them, but so far no one had called him out on this.

He was watching the practice from above whilst on the lookout for the golden snitch. It was moving faster than Noah would have liked but he knew that he'd capture it again eventually.

Isaak Baros frowned as he noticed a bunch of players being hit by bludgers. He had only been hit once, which was more than enough. He flew next to Einar, for assistance.

Cayleigh was hit in her arm, but she managed to hit the same bludger back, though her aim to block it, managed to hit the keeper, @Adam Everett. Cayleigh winced and shouted, "Sorry!" Cayleigh flushed red, flying off to prevent hitting other bludgers.

Eli let out a laugh as Adam was hit by a bludger, though he was a bit sad it wasn't his own. He snorted as he noticed the beater looked embarrassed about it. C'mon, this was her job. He flew off to follow the bludger, trying to hit it at Adam again. Unfortunately, he missed.

AJ had known Quidditch was pretty brutal, he signed up for beater after all, but it was still a sight to see all the balls flying about like this. He hissed in sympathy when Cayleigh managed to nail Adam with one next calling out a "Good shot?" to her in what he hoped was an encouraging voice. Shooting off after one of the bludgers as is passed, AJ tried to take a swing as well, but wasn't even able to catch up with the thing before it swerved away.

Adam bit back a shriek as the bludger struck him. Him. Keeper was supposed to be the easy position. Who the hell attacked a keeper? He scowled at Cayleigh and pretended to shrug off the blow like it was nothing to him, but Eli's laughter and AJ's compliment had him fuming and he couldn't let it pass. They were all trash. "I thought you were meant to be protecting the players? How did you even make this team?" He called out to Cayleigh. It had definitely not been a good shot, and he wasn't going to have anyone convince her otherwise. He scoffed to himself, and shot a glare towards their captain. "Nevermind. I think we all know." This team was a joke, and he was more convinced that he was the only decent player. Surely the seekers had bewitched the snitch with how often they claimed to have caught it so far, and the beaters obviously weren't doing a good job either. Ugh.

Ignoring the comments that were being made below him, Noah was looking for the other seeker. He wanted to know if she was having a bit more luck than him in trying to find the snitch.

AJ wanted to object to Adam coming after Cayleigh, but he wasn't sure he felt brave enough to cause problems like that in practice. He especially didn't want Cayleigh thinking he thought she couldn't handle herself. Instead he just frowned and Adam, taking off after the bludger that'd hit him to see if he could catch up to it for another hit.

Isaak heard the comments, and immediately sped up to the keeper. He pointed his finger at him, and said in an irritated tone, "If you say one more thing that is negative about this team or my judgements, I will throw you out. I have no issues replacing people that aren't team players." Isaak held up his hands and formed a T, for a small time out session. "What's your choice, Everett? Be a team player, or be the first one to get kicked off on the first practice?"

Cayleigh heard the comments, and immediately, she was angry. How dare he assume such things?! Her cousin wouldn't do that. He was much to nice. She stopped flying when Isaak flew over to the keeper, so she flew toward @AJ Ari and frowned. "Um," she paused before rolling her eyes, "I have a feeling that others would have wanted to hit bludgers at that guy, huh."

AJ slowed down when Isaak called a time out, unable to look away from Adam getting told off. It was like watching a car crash, if one of the cars was really smarmy and full of itself. He gave Cayleigh a conciliatory smile when she flew up next to him, both of them watching Isaak stare down Adam. He hoped Adam would apologize and not get kicked off of the team, it wasn't exactly a great start to the season if he was. "Maybe we can weaponize it. Make the other teams' beaters just target him." He said softly to Cayleigh.

Dominic frowned at Adam’s comment. Cayleigh’s hit was an honest mistake and it wasn’t like bludgers were particularly easy to aim. He could understand being upset but it was no reason to be mean, especially towards teammates. They were supposed to be in this together. When Isaak called time out, Dominic slowed but kept his distance as Isaak went off on Adam. The captain’s reaction felt a little excessive and not worth throwing their keeper off the team.

Einar wasn't sure what had happened to bring the pause to play, but he stopped and waited for things to get sorted.
