Hello!

Some people on HNZ love to style their posts. Fonts, colours, super small text - in short: the works. However, for some others on the board this practise is both annoying and stupid. It can make posts difficult to read, and sometimes deters people from even bothering to read other's posts.

HNZ has never had a rule regarding styling posts, roleplaying templates etc. and I don't think we ever will. HNZ is ultimately a very chill community. We put up with each other, we do what we love to do, we enjoy each other's company on the internet, and we're proud of the work we post on the board at the end of the day.

So, in the spirit of letting everybody have it their own way, HNZ has a new feature which will allow people who love to go all out to go all out, and those who hate that to be able to avoid it but still lurk the threads they want to lurk.

At the bottom of every post, right beside the quote button, is a small button that has the letters "RS" on it. These letters stand for "Remove Styling". When you click the button, the post which the button is for will be automagically stripped of all its styling (this includes font, colour, alignment and small tags). Images, bold, underlines and quotes/ooc notes etc. will stay in tact. Your page will then bring you back to the top of the stripped post and display the message "(Styling Removed - Refresh to restore)" directly above the post. When the page is refreshed, the post will have its styling once more. (The feature exists only to aid in the readability of posts.)

Having a Mac, I have not yet been able to test in all variations of all browsers, but I trust it will work for the most part and I will be willing to work with users who experience problems in order to resolve them. (Though, I obviously hope there will be none! xD )

I did most of my testing in Alyeha Devearux's Biography Topic as I knew there would be plenty of coding there to see how the code interacts with various things. ( Kaitlyn )

At the end of this announcement, I will style some craziness so you can see exactly how the code works and that it does, indeed, work. :)

Here's to hoping this solves some issues for some of you,

~Nick

OOCOut of Character:
"PLES RING IF AN RNSER IS REQIRD." | "PLEZ CNOKE IF AN RNSR IS NOT REQID."

Hmm, good update Nick, I am certain that this will increase the general readability of the site. However fond I maybe of formatting, some stuffs are just overdone... :r
I have a question though, you mentioned bold, ooc tags and spoilers, will italics be affected?

No, italics are not affected (as you can determine from my example). :)

Oh right, silleh me. :tut:
But thanks for replying anywayz and for your general effort.

You know my feelings on this subject :D

I feel honored, and I sincerely love this code. ^_^ I cannot wait to try it out! :D

Thanks a ton Nick, for (1) going out of your way to do this and (2) making it so I don't have to squint anymore! xD
