Preston sauntered into the courtyard like a seventh year who felt like he owned the school. He knew the castle pretty well, though he was still certain that it had a few secrets left for him to uncover. That's what would make the year interesting. That, and the fact that this was his final year. It was his final chances to make mischief, have fun, and leave his mark on the school. Sure, that much of his mischief and fun would come by way of the Brotherhood, Preston knew that it was his responsibility to recruit some new members. Leaning the sign that he'd made up against one of the courtyard benches, Preston took a seat beside it and pulled out his sketchbook. He'd taken to drawing again recently and had begun working on a sketch of a woman. Preston had no idea who she was, but she was proving to be a lot of fun to draw.

Want a space to get away from all of the girls in this castle? Need to find some bros to hang with?
Look no further than the Brotherhood of Magic!
Ask me for details.

Having no classes on today, Rhys had decided to make the most of his day and re-familiarise himself with the castle. He hadn't been back long, he knew, and his departure had been so sudden and abrupt that he could understand people being upset with him, but what Rhys hadn't quite expected was to lose virtually all of his friends. Since his return, he found that those he had previously been fairly close with avoided him, and those he hadn't barely even remembered who he was. It was a daunting feeling, and one that left Rhys feeling cold inside. He was again intending on trying out for the Slytherin quidditch team, but knew he'd need more to sustain himself, or he would go insane. And there were only so many times that the Slytherin third year could wander aimlessly around the castle.

Slowly making his way into the courtyard, he took a scope around. There weren't all that many people out today, though he figured that had something to do with the fact that it was a rather miserable day. Rhys then noticed an older student sitting by a sign. Reading the sign, Rhys frowned to himself. 'The Brotherhood of Magic?' he wondered to himself curiously. Making his way over to the boy, who Rhys now realised was a Slytherin prefect, his curiosity ran wild. "Hello," he said, smiling at the boy, "What's the Brotherhood of Magic?" he asked, indicating the sign.

Preston's eyes drifted up for a second before returning to his picture. He made one more line before he looked up at the guy again. That was easily the question he heard most, but it usually came from first years who really had no idea what the Brotherhood was. He was a bit disappointed. He'd have expected anyone else to know already. Obviously, the Brotherhood was failing at something if someone who had been in the school for a few years had no clue what the Brotherhood was. Unless he'd transferred, of course. Then, it would make perfect sense.

"The Brotherhood is a group of guys who hang out together. We have a private lounge area where we can just...be guys" he replied with a grin. "I'm Preston, the president" he added. "You interested in signing up?" he asked.

Rhys raised an eyebrow in curiosity when Preston explained what the brotherhood was. It sounded exactly like something that Rhys needed to get himself out of this slump. A few other thoughts came across his mind as he viewed the Slytherin prefect in front of him. "I am definitely interested in signing up." he said with a grin, and then as another thought hit him, he frowned slightly. "This isn't any sort of a pureblood cult thing is it?" he asked curiously. Rhys was a Slytherin, but he was a muggleborn and wanted absolutely nothing to do with the narrow minded ways of some of the Slytherin's he had met in his time at Hogwarts. The idea that he might finally had found a group to hang out with was one that pleased Rhys greatly. Maybe this year wouldn't suck so much after all. "No offense," he added, realising that what he had asked about the group might have been a bit offensive to the older boy sitting in front of him, "I just don't want to get caught up in anything blood or house related." he explained, giving the boy an apologetic smile. He hated that he even had to ask the question, but the guy was a Slytherin, after all, so it wasn't that far fetched a question.

Preston lifted his sketchbook so he could get to the roll of parchment he had underneath, where he would record the new members' names. At the kid's question, Preston looked up, a frown on his face that seemed to mirror the guy's own. The words 'don't you know who I am' were on his lips, but they felt elitist even to the seventh year. "Uh, don't you remember the drama from two years ago?" he asked, but he didn't even wait for confirmation before continuing. "I'm muggleborn, bro." It wasn't something he mentioned often. Preston tried to not care about it, but he knew that many people, especially those in his house, preferred pureblood wizards and witches. "So, no offense taken" he added, though there was some offense taken. Preston just couldn't pinpoint why he felt offended. Pushing that to the side for the moment, Preston continued to pitch the group. "We have people of all houses, all years, all blood statuses in the group. We do have a couple of purebloods who might ignore you but most of the guys aren't like that. They just want a place to relax" he stated.
