Ben had been surprised when he'd been approached to help proctor the Musical Chairs game between Heta Omega and the Brotherhood, but he was hardly going to say no, not when something sounded as fun as that. After all, who didn't love a game of musical chairs? Everything was set up, and there were Seventeen chairs for people to sit on until the end of the first round. They needed to wait for everyone to arrive so that they could get everything prepared. Let the games begin. A large smile spread across his face as he looked out at the spread. The chairs were arranged in a near circle behind him and quite a few people had signed up for the challenge. He quickly clapped his hands together, drawing attention to himself as he addressed the group, nodding to Teddy and Bailey. “Alright, listen up! Welcome to this round of Brotherhood vs. Heta Omega! You all know the rules - classic Musical Chairs, but with a twist. This is not just about quick reflexes but also about strategy. And, of course, bragging rights.” He grinned as he looked around at everyone. “Brotherhood’s already leading 1-0 after Tug of War, but Heta, you’ve got a chance to even the score. No pressure!”

He gestured behind him to the chairs. “We’ll be playing in two phases: Walking Phase - where you get to casually stroll and chat while the music plays - and the Scramble Phase - where the real chaos begins. Sit, or be eliminated. Simple, right?” He smirked. “But don’t get too comfortable. You never know when I might take away more than one chair at a time.” He made sure everyone was paying attention before continuing. "If anyone has any questions now is the time to ask, but otherwise, I hope you all have been working on your reaction time because it's important! Let's see who has what it takes, huh?" he flicked his wand, and got everything ready for the music to start.

Current Phase: Arrivals - You must post your character arriving to play.
(The walking phase will begin in 24hours)
Names of the players will be Crossed off when they are eliminated.
Spectators may post, but only those on the sign up list will be allowed to play.
OOCOut of Character:

  • We're playing as two phases:
Phase 1: The 'Walking Phase' players walk around the chairs while music plays. This phase lasts 24 hours.
Phase 2: The 'Scramble Phase'. The music stops and players must post sitting in a chair before phase 1 restarts. This phase also lasts 24 hours unless all players have posted, in which case the Walking phase can restart sooner.
  • Posting in the Walking phase is not compulsory but encouraged for RP purposes.
  • You must post sitting on a chair in the Scramble phase. If you do not post, or post but your character is not sitting down by the end of the scramble phase, then you are eliminated.
  • If all players post in the Scramble phase, then the last person to post is eliminated. The exception is if one or more players do not post in the Scramble phase. They will all be automatically eliminated and everyone who posted will keep playing.
  • OSW style for the posts preferred but there is no word count.
  • All site rules apply. This includes rules on godmodding. For example, if your character intends to steal a chair from another player then please get OOC permission first and reach out to discuss with me. Ben may disqualify you for the disruption.
  • If two characters with the same RPer reach the final, then the final round will have three people fighting over one chair.
  • Although it's an individual game, teamwork is encouraged. A Heta member winning will see the overall score equalise 1-1. Brotherhood won Tug of War and if they win the score is 2-0.

Jonah was a little disappointed to find out that Lumos was not going to be playing Musical Chairs. He regretted letting the shyness overwhelm him when he'd thought about signing them both up to play without letting Lumos know first. And then a lot of things happened, and he hadn't been able to ask Lumos if he'd signed up for the game. Next thing Jonah knew, sign ups had closed and Lumos wasn't playing, and Jonah may or may not have ended up sulking just a little bit. Well, sulking because of himself, not because of Lumos. He waved shyly at the Slytherin though as he made his way towards the chairs, he would be playing with Felix and Will and Eurydice, so it was definitely going to be a little interesting.

Eurydice was regretting life decisions. She wasn't really one for physical games, which is why she hadn't even been intending to participate in Tug-of-War. She'd never even really played Musical Chairs before. And then she'd heard Morrie would be playing, and Benjamin was the proctor for the game. It was reminding her of the game a year ago which is why while she had shown up to the Lawn, she was still at the outskirts, not quite with the players, and instead standing - and holding on to Elio-nii's arm in a semi-tight grip. "Are you sure you don't want to take my spot?" Maybe she could still switch with him if he wanted to play. She'd be asking her brothers, but Kael-nii didn't show up and she didn't think Tizi-nii would be allowed to play. It would be terribly unfair after all.

@Elio Boneheart

Elio laughed at Eury, gently nudging her to move closer to play the game. "Don't worry about it, I can't take your place because I would have to join the Brotherhood, but I'm not playing, so you should go ahead. I'll watch you."

Audrey needed a win. Dueling had been a disaster, again, and she'd tried her heart out in Quidditch to no avail. She really needed something right now, and if she had to physically throw smaller students out of her way to get it then so be it. But it wasn't just for her pride, it was for Heta as well. She couldn't have the girls losing to the boys again. She folded her arms across her chest, showing off her toned arm muscles as something of an intimidation tactic. One didn't swing a bat about and not have anything to show for it, after all.

Honestly, Ignatius joined the brotherhood to not deal with girls, considering how horrible the beaters in the Quidditch team were. And yet here he was competing against them. He sighed, regretting having signed up for this but figuring he had to try and win. His own pride was on the line.

Something about getting a rose for Valentine's Day, even if it was just a yellow one, had prompted him to re-engage with the world. Where before he'd just slogged through classes, not really caring, now he was at least attempting to take notes and study a bit. And he was trying to interact with others a bit more, hence signing up for this event. His comeback, so to speak, was in progress. Benicio hadn't played musical chairs in ages, but he figured it could be a bit of fun. He stood off to the side, waiting for the game to begin.

Teddy arrived early to help set up, moving around chairs and making sure they had enough for everyone. He was excited about this event and had every intention of the Brotherhood winning. Not that losing was something he was particularly familiar with these days. He listened to Professor Kaster who he'd asked to help (he thought asking his dad might discredit an inevitable Brotherhood win). Everyone was starting to arrive now and Teddy was ready to get started.

Morrie was a little disappointed not to see Vanity's name on the sign up sheet. She was the only person Morrie would be happy to play alongside and also lose to if it came to it. Everyone else can get stuffed, especially Eurydice. Her and Eurydice were technically on the same team but Morrie didn't see it like that, there were no teammates today. She turned up ready to win this herself, whatever it took.

Musical chairs sounded like proper fun, Nia had played it with her cousins before and she wasn't usually one to brag but she was quite good at the game. That was why she had confidently signed up for the Brotherhood vs Heta game of it, though let's just be honest they could have been sitting around in a circle and competing on who could throw their rock the farthest without moving their arms and Nia would still have participated. Besides this game seemed like her small size could come in great use, surely she could dive between the bigger students and go unnoticed stealing their chairs? Yeah a foolproof plan if she had ever heard one.

Felix was very excited to be playing a game with the boys, and not because he knew the girls were about to be crushed. Regardless of whether or not any of them were his friends, Felix's competitive streak was going to get the better of him and he wasn't about to be a gentleman and offer his chair to any ladies. He waved toward Jonah, before stretching out his leg muscles so that he was ready.

Bailey was glad that Professor Kaster had agreed to proctor the game of musical chairs between the brotherhood and heta. There were more obvious choices for professors to help them out but it wouldn't be a good look if her or Teddy had asked their respective dads, so thankfully Professor Kaster had agreed to step in. She arrived early to help with the set up and then waited for things to get started.

Aroha was in full competition mode. She had to win this - not for any other reason but to win, and maybe to shove it in Teddy's face because honestly that'd be a good time. She hadn't expected her brother to be on the opposing team though. She lifted her chin at him in a greeting, saying with her eyes 'you may be my brother but we're enemies today'.

William was more surprised that musical chairs was outside than anything else, they couldn't find a classroom big enough? Luckily the weather was nice enough. He made his way down to where the event was being held and looked like he got there just in time having missed all the set up.

Hēmi looked back at his sister, imitating the gesture. He was actually a bit nervous, but he didn't want to show that. He wasn't competitive like Aroha was but he definitely felt a tug of something approaching competitiveness when she was around. He really just wanted to have a good time more than anything and maybe make some friends. Or, now he was thinking about it, he might end up making some enemies. Hopefully not though.

Once everyone had arrived, Ben tapped his wand, and music started playing. "Okay everyone, the music will stop at any moment, so please get to walking!"

OOCOut of Character:
We are now in the Walking Phase, please note that posting during this 24 hour phase is not required, but is highly encouraged for rp purposes. The next phase will begin in 24 Hours. You MUST post in the next phase or you will be eliminated.

The following players have been eliminated.
-Doyle Mooney
-Rhea Moss
-Leah Thorne
-Magdalene Grey

Felix was feeling pretty confident as he began to saunter his way around the chairs as the music started. He wondered who’d be the first to be eliminated, and who’d be the first to sit on someone else’s lap.

Jonah, in the meantime, scurried. As close to the chairs as he was allowed to be.

Eury made sure to stay as far away from Morrie as possible. She should be fine because Elio-nii was watching right?

Morrie began walking really slowly so people would inevitably overtake her, just so Eurydice would have to reach her eventually.
