Bruin strode out onto the Quidditch pitch with his Scarlet Streak in hand, already dressed in the rest of his gear. It was about half an hour before the rest of last year's returning players had been asked to arrive and Bruin marveled at the rich greens of the turf and the way the hoops and stands almost sparkled in the early morning sun. Groundskeeper Willie had done a marvelous job preparing the pitch for the year and Bruin was filled with optimism. This was going to be the year that the houses actually competed for the Quidditch Cup, the one trophy left in the Trophy Room that Bruin cared about having his name connected to.

Bruin opened up the shed where the Quidditch Set he had bought for the team was stored and removed the heavy trunk. The bludgers who had remained dormant within their restraints for the summer sprung to life and the trunk began shake and bounce as he carried the trunk back outside. "Whoa, settle down now in there. It won't be long now." He spoke reassuringly to the trunk, not thinking it odd in the slightest to be talking to the bludgers. He lowered the trunk onto the grass, popped the lid carefully to make sure everything was still properly secured and then closed it again, sitting down on the trunk as he waited for the others to arrive.

Bruin looked up at the stands, wondering if any of the first years would accept his invitation to come and watch them practice. He was certainly open to the idea of adding new talent to the roster, but knew that the nucleus of a great team was already in place. A big smile crossed his face as he thought about the possibilities for this year's team.

(Gryffindor has no second string, everyone is a first stringer. We just have so much talent that some people may have to sit for certain games, including myself if necessary. In other words, get your arse on the pitch already!)

(( Kk ))

Ellie wandered out onto the Quidditch pitch excitedly, today was Gryffindors first Quidditch practice of the new year, and Ellie was one of the seekers!
Spotting Bruin Ellie grinned, "Hey Bruin" She said, leaning against her Firebolt.

Harri hurried excitedly out onto the quiditch pitch, she couldn't wait to start flying with the team again! She was so pleased to be one of the extemly talented team, she spotted Ellie and Bruin and walked over, her firebolt clutched tightly in her hand "Hey guys!" she said happily "Everyone ready for practise?" she asked excitedly.

Ellie grinned as Harri came bounding towards them, "Hey" she said, "You excited?" She asked, although she already knew the answer!

Stephanie had been sitting by the quiditch pitch when she saw students she recognized from gryffindor, it looked like they were having quiditch practise.
Steph quickly ran up to the stands and sat down, watching the players gather together below her, waving at Harri, Stephanie grabbed some water out of her bag.

Ellie noticed a first year girl come onto the pitch, and remembered when she was in first year, just last year, and was so eager to try out. "Hey" Ellie said, waving and grinning at the girl.

Harri saw Steph come out and sit in the stands she waved back, remembering how it felt to watch but not be able to practise just last year.

Bruin looked up and was about to reply to Ellie and Harri when their youthful enthusiasm got the better of them and they began to exchange small talks and waves to a young girl in the stands. He waited a moment and then rose, walking towards them.

"Good morning Ellie. Hey Harri." He said to the other two with a warm smile. "Looks like we've got a great day for our first practice. Kiera and Hilary might be a little late, but I expect the rest of the team will be here shortly." Bruin added as he checked his watch.

"Who wants to do some flying while we wait?" He asked, not waiting for an answer as he hopped on to his broom and took off skyward.

Kiera skipped down to the pitch with her broom in her hand. She was excited for this upcoming year and knew her team was going to do marvelous. She saw Bruin, Ellie, Harri, and Steph already on the pitch. She grinned widely. "Hey Yall!" she called happily.

Ellie grinned at Bruin and was about to hop on her broom when she heard Kiera, "Hey Kiera" Ellie called, waving at Kiera with a grin. "How've you been?" She asked her.

Harri grinned "Me!" she said hoping on her broom straight after Bruin. She saw Kiera come onto the pitch and shouted down to her "Hey Kiera!" she said waving at her before zooming off on her broom and flying straight through the hoops. She flew back doing a sommersault that Ellie had taught her "I'm getting better!" she called down to Ellie, and it was true her sommersault was nearly as good as Ellies now!

Kiera grinned as Harri and Ellie called greetings to her. She noticed Bruin and Harri were both already in the air. "I've been great Ellie! How are you?" she asked as she walked towards her friend. "You wanna get in the air?" she asked flashing a wicked grin.

Ellie grinned and watched as Harri showed her her somersault, "That's amazing" Ellie shouted up to her, before grinning at Kiera, "I've been great too, and sure!" She said, jumping on her broom and waiting for Kiera.

Harri smiled as Ellie came to join her, "Race you to the hoops!" she siad happily speeding off towards the hoops on the other side of the pitch.

Ellie grinned and sped forwards until her and Harri were kneck and kneck! The wind was whiping through her hair, blowing it everywhere, but she loved it, it was her favorite feeling!

Harri smiled seeing her and Ellie were neck and neck, the hoops were so close now. She felt her hair blowing everywhere as she reached the hoops not sure who had won.

Andromeda had been finishing an assignment when she looked at her watch. She gasped quidditch practise was about to start and she needed to get there as fast as she could. Packing her bag quickly she ran outside of the library and banished her school bag back to her dorm and summoned 'Falcon' her broom. Her feet were already carrying her down the stairs by the time the broom came to her. She caught it effortlessly and grinning broadly hopped on to a bannister and slid down between floors.

She was only five or so minutes late for practise but still it annoyed her that she was late at all. Her face broke into an even wider grin when she saw Bruin, Kiera, Ellie and Harri in the air. Straddling her broom immediately she kicked off and flew upwards to join them, Andromeda loved the air about as much as muggles loved to walk.

"Hi all, how's tricks?" she smiled at them all. She winked at Bruin relieved that she had told him all about her 'condition' and that he had taken it so well. As she circled the group she spotted a first year sitting in the stands and gave her a slight wave. Andromeda didn't recognise her but she was in the Gryffindor stands, right where Andromeda, Ellie and Harri had been the year before.

Ellie arrived at the hoops laughing, her hair had blown i front of her face and she didn't know who had won as both her and Harri were at the hoops. "Call it a draw?" She asked, still laughing and loving being back in the air!
Suddenly Ellie spotted Andy and grinned, "Hey Andy" She called, grinning and waving

Harri laughed "Sounds fair!" she said zooming over to Andy "Hey Andy!" she said "Excited about practise?" she asked enthusiastically.

Bruin hovered and observed as his teammates completed a series of acrobatic aerial manouvres and raced around the pitch. He waved to Kiera and Andromeda as they arrived and then flew over towards the stands at a reasonable pace, stopping about five feet in front of the first year girl and hovering.

"Hi there, I'm Bruin." He said warmly. "Don't mind them, they're just a little crazy!", he joked as he gestured towards the others. "I hope that we'll be seeing you out here in a few weeks." Bruin added, referring to the fact that the first years would be welcome to join in some practices once they'd had a few weeks of flying lessons under their belts.

Andromeda hovered in the air, clutching her legs around the end of the broom and balancing beautifully on her broom she pulled her hair back into a pony tail before holding on again and smiling at Harri. Last year she had found it difficult enough holding on with only one hand, with the practise she had put in during the summer Andromeda could now hover on her broom and catch a quaffle beautifully with both hands.
"Hey Harri, I am beyond excited. Need to do a lap to warm up I guess" she grinned flying around the hoops and back up the pitch to the other end. The wind whipped against her face and she inhaled it deeply, loving the very sensation. Could life get any better?

Cyndi woke up, looked at the clock and let out a groan. She was gonna be late for practice. She quickly got dressed, grabbed her Scarlet Streak and ran down the steps and out onto the grounds. She didn't stop running until she was on the pitch.

Cyndi stopped to catch her breath and noticed that some of last year's team were already there and flying around. When Cyndi was able to breath steadily, she waved to Bruin and then got on her broom. She couldn't wait to get a lap in.

Cyndi pushed off and flew around the pitch, smiling at the others who were already doing laps.
