Calum hadn't been having the best day and was exceptionally tired from the late night wondering. Duelling was on his mind and always had been since the new year and the frequent wins he was getting. He knew he was better than all of the people that he duelled but he couldn't believe that one of his team mates (who was no longer really considered a 'mate') had left and traded him for another one. Who did they think they were leaving such a great team for one that possibly, and probably most likely, had many more losses than they did? Sometimes Calum wondered if maybe it was because they had something wrong with them, maybe something mental, and that they only left because they didn't understand common sense. But he was very suspicious of the sudden move and thought that the leave could possibly mean that something sneaky was happening that he didn't know about.

Sighing, Calum made his way down the busy streets of Hogsmeade with his hands in his pockets and his black hoodie over his head, looking directly at the ground. He hated going to Hogsmeade but it was an excuse to get out of the castle and get some fresh air. He had no friends to hang out with but it didn't really bother him much. He preferred to be alone to think about stuff that he wouldn't dare talk about with to anyone - not even his father. He liked his own company and that was probably the best thing about himself. He sat down on the edge of a nearby bench away from a group of girls gossiping in front of the Honeydukes window and retrieved his wand from his robes before twirling it around in his fingers. He wondered what would happen if he decided to hex one of them.

There was a crisp chill to the air of the surrounding area of Hogsmead and the smell of autumn was overwhelming for the Amoretta Macksimov. As she shopped the aisles of a sweets store she tried hard to ignore anything and everything around her. The bell ringing made her jump and she turned blue eyes towards the entrance where a group of girls giggled, one making eye contact with her. Very funny. She thought to herself, before buying the chocolates she wanted and making a hasty retreat past the girls - whom were probably around her age if not a bit younger. Amoretta was not one to call anyone out on being rude, or making fun of her jumpy nature. It wasn't as if she tried to hide it after all.

Deciding that instead of finding her family - her parents were out with her younger sister looking at owls as she started school soon - she might take a seat and enjoy the sweets she'd just purchased. Her doe-eyes locked on a bench that held one other person and she made her way over. Her English was not perfect, but it sure wasn't terrible - and so she spoke through her thick Russian accent. "Is it a problem for me to sit?" She tried to be polite as she could, a bit nervous if she were honest. The man looked like what her parents would call a ruffian - and for all she knew they were right.

As Calum twirled his wand around his fingers, he kept his eyes on the group of girls and watched as they began to laugh at another girl who had just walked out of the shop and jumped at the ringing of the bell. He smirked at her, knowing that she would be no good in any one of his action-packed duels. Didn't she hear the bell when she walked into the shop? Surely she was expecting the same thing to happen when she walked out? Calum had to admit though that she was cute but quickly looked straight to the ground once he noticed that she was on her way over to him. Social situations weren't always his favourite thing and she only hoped that she would keep her mouth shut and just mind her own business. Unfortunately, Calum was in no luck and looked up slowly at her as she asked to sit down next to him. She seemed a little nervous and Calum knew that was probably a good thing considering he knew himself to not be much of a socializer either. He narrowed his eyes at her and stayed silent, letting her words float away into the distance. He never really enjoyed the company of other people and he was sure that if he let her sit down that she'd probably want to start a conversation with him. In his best attempt to sound superior, he simply said "It is." in reply to her question and continued to twirl his wand between his fingers. If she really wanted to sit down, she'd have to try harder.

Amoretta couldn't hide the look on her face. She was obviously extremely taken aback by the way he spoke. His gruff voice and the way he stayed short in his sentences. Perhaps he was a bad person. However Amoretta's feet were sore. For a moment the dancer toyed with her suspenders and then asked him. "Is the seat taken then?" After all, if it wasn't taken it wasn't an issue to sit right? And if he really had an issue then she would just apparate away to avoid being hurt. She might be able to duel a bit, but he looked like he was an expert with his wand - and if he was a bad guy he might hurt her without care. And Am didn't like the idea of getting blood on the shirt she was wearing. After all it was the only one she wore of that color, as it looked fairly good on her - where as anything solid maroon just didn't. She waited patiently for her answer, switching the weight from her right hip to her left, popping it out slightly as she waited.

Calum couldn't believe how unusual the girl was acting. She looked like she really wanted to sit down but Calum could also sense that she might have been slightly afraid of him. But why would she be? Calum didn't do anything horrible... yet. As he looked up at her she noticed how tall she was and wondered if she was older than him. After all, if she was any younger than him she would be at school and not just wandering around Hogsmeade. Truthfully, her age didn't intimidate the Slytherin at all and as she spoke he continued to avert his gaze to the ground, not wanting to look like he was at all interested. Instead, he spread his legs out further and leant back in his seat with his legs straightened out in front of him, making himself comfortable and clearly taking up most of the space. If the girl had just sat down without asking then maybe he wouldn't have minded but the fact that she was so polite made Calum chuckle slightly as he spoke. "The seat I am sitting in is taken if that's what you mean." he replied sarcastically, finding the situation rather amusing, knowing exactly what she meant.

Amy was not unfriendly, but she was no pushover either. It was evident this man was screwing with her, and just didn't want her to sit down. It was a public bench though, and Amoretta was not going to let him walk all over you. "Well I am glad you say the seat you're in is taken." She moved and sat down beside his spread out leg, and wiggled about a little bit to make herself comfortable. "Because that must mean this one isn't. Well now it is." The blonde Veela flicked her hair over her shoulder and slowly went through her bag, before digging out a chocolate bar she'd bought from the sweets shop. She opened in and slowly begun munching on it, taking a break from everything else. After all she'd been on her feet most of the day - she needed the sugar to keep herself running. As a dancer she knew that her body should be fueled with healthy items, but the chocolate was too good to pass up. After taking a few bites she finally decided to take a dig at the man. "Thanks for the seat." She remarked.

Calum laughed as he watched the girl sit herself down right beside his leg and make herself comfortable. He always liked a girl who had a little bit of pride and was wondering why she hadn't walked away yet. After all, there were plenty of other benches around the place and she didn't have to sit next to him, despite how desperately she seemed to want to. Calum didn't mind her presence for the moment though and moved over a little bit for her as she took out a chocolate bar from her bag. "Chocolate frogs are much better." he told her, eager to annoy her for just a little bit longer. "Have you ever had one of those before? One jump in them and they're gone." Calum smirked, his voice still cold. He seemed comfortable so far but he knew it wouldn't last long.

Amoretta turned her face towards him with her eyes blank, and mouth closed as she chewed the chocolate. She raised an eyebrow and swallowed her chocolate, making sure her mouth was empty and clean before speaking. "Yeah but those don't have chili peppers in them. I like my life with a little spice." She spoke, waving the bar in his face for a moment. The blonde took another bite and spread a little farther out, pushing his legs to the side the best she can. "Do tell me if i make you uncomfortable. Would you like a piece?" she offered him, breaking off a piece that had a visible piece of chili in it. "Or are you scared it'll be to spicy for you?" She inquired, almost daring him to accept her challenge. After all, he seemed to have a stubborn pride.

Calum found it slightly offending that this girl was implying that he was a coward but tried not to show it as he listened to her trying to pretend to be the bigger and better one. He really did not care about her liking her life 'with a little bit of spice' and just rolled his eyes at her, hoping she was joking. "The only thing I would like from you right now is a little less attitude." Calum said hypocritically as she offered him a piece. Why would he ever want something that she touched? It seemed rather disgusting anyway and he hoped that she would just eat it instead of playing around. "What are you? Three years old? Just eat it." Calum couldn't believe the way she was acting. He was nice enough to let her sit down without him hexing her and this was how she repaid him? She had no idea how strong he was and Calum hoped he would never have to show her.
