Old School Week Forest Exploration

The reaction of the smaller students was one that aspen regularly saw. In foals. But she recognised the big twohoof and smiled someone not something. I’m aspen. Hello noelle datterfriend ” she said she had heard about him and seen him from the edge of the Forrest as one of willows old mates.

Avery looked to where Seamus had motioned. He was distracted from the rustling when the older boy claimed to be a professor. Now that he thought about it he might have seen him at the staff table. But then someone stepped out and he gasped. "You're a centaur." He said in disbelief. He couldn't believe he'd found one so soon.

yes

"He has questions for you," Seamus knew now that the other man was a professor but he knew it would be difficult to find a centaur and didn't want Avery to lose his chance to speak to them. "We'll come back to the school after he's asked his questions,"

Noelle was about to insist they go back when Aspen stepped out. "Greetings, Aspen, my friend." He knew her because of Willow's stories. He turned to the students, sighed. "One question. That's it. No buts. Then we go back." He turned back to face Aspen and apologized politely.

aspen was glad to see willows mate again, she saw linden on occasion though the trees feeding and caring for animals. she was proud of him for that sometimes leaving animals she had found for him to find. but hadn't seen willlow in many seasons. "only one question. that doesn't seem fair. it isn't often I get to meet old family, or new friends" she said. Ask me as many questions as you want. I can escort you to the edge of the forest “

Avery looked between the group. Did this centaur really know this professor? The circumstances felt like they were meant to be. All he needed was one question, but he would have liked more, and was glad the centaur offered to walk with them. He gave Seamus a small, grateful smile and started walking with the centaur. "Can you tell the future?" He asked her hopefully.

Seamus was quite surprised the professor would let them ask the question, and somewhat out of respect for his friend Seamus moved away from him, and put his hands over his ears.

Aspen was curious as to what the student wanted to ask her. She was used to getting a lot of questions. As the boy spoke she felt like she was letting him down. im afraid not. I was your when I left my herd. It is more important for foals to learn to hunt and gather and survive. We only learn how to tell the future when we are older. I k ow some of the basics on how to read the signs but don’t k ow what they mean she said. Feeling a little like a failure of a centaur.

Noelle knew Aspen liked meeting people just like any other young centaurs. He shook his head and let the students ask their questions. "As long as you won't venture any further, I let you ask the questions.", he told them sternly. "Still, house points will be taken for going into the forest ", he added simply.

Avery nodded to the professor and listened to the centaur explain. "Oh..." He trailed off sadly. The brief feeling that this was fated to be was quickly dashed, and he shook his head slowly at Seamus with a small frown to let him know he wasn't getting the answers he was looking for. "There are other centaurs in the forest? Centaurs that could?" He asked her quietly. If it meant another trip to the forest, it might have been worth it.

aspen was torn she felt bad not being able to answer the boys question, she knew some witches and wizards could tell the future but there was something very wrong about a centaur recommending the use of human magic."there is a herd who has this forest as part of their territory. but they haven't been here for a while. even if they were here they wouldn't teach me. I don't belong to their tribe." she said.

Noelle would like to smack his head now. He stepped forward, glancing knowingly at Aspen. "Yes, there are many centaurs but this does not mean you'll go back in anytime soon.", he chastised the two boys. He made a mental note to keep an eye on them. "Aspen, thank you so much for the time. I should get these two back to the castle. I'll tell Willow I saw you and you're well.", he smiled at her.

Seamus was somewhat sympathetic as it seemed that Avery wouldn't get the answer he wanted. "Okay, let's go back to the school then," Seamus shrugged to the professor.

Noelle beckoned to the boys to go after him, making sure they would not slip away as he waved goodbye to Aspen. He made a mental note to write Willow about it as they walked back to the castle all the way to the office of Professor Angel Castillo.
