Lucas had been anxious about his guests. He had invited Connor and Kas, and had been very worried Kas wouldn't show up. He had been happy to see both of them in the audience during his speech, but he still hadn't actually talked to Kas, not since he suddenly disappeared from the school last year. They had written letters, sure, but Lucas still felt oddly jittery about speaking to Kas again face to face.
