Duelling Match Number 13

[Professor Misha Haden]

Professor Haden leads the two contestants to the stage, appointing them into the north or south part of the stage. He tells the rules as well as the point system. He walks off the stage and orders the duel to begin, as he keeps a watchful eye.​

All right, make sure that you use the spell list for guidance. No board rule breaking is acceptable. Have fun! I have a copy of the code that you should use with every post. Remember, when you are knocked out, unable to shoot anymore spells, you lost. And if you run out of points, you lose.

When Rudolf had heard the name of his opponent, the colour had drained quickly from his face. It was widely accepted that anybody with the surname 'Styx' was to be kept well away from at all times. But despite his initial fear, Rudolf had no plans on chickening out. He'd gotten straight O's for the last year and a half, after all. He stepped up to the platform and gave Lanithro a bow, turning and taking the correct number of steps before spinning to face him again. With little warning, he lifted his wand above his head and fired a Trip Jinx in his opponent's direction.

Lanithro bowed to his opponent, and a mischievous snicker painted across his lips. Oh he was going to enjoy this. Lanithro was the son of the esteemed duelist within his family, and he hoped that he would have inherited some of those worthy genes. He did all right in classes, but he did practice his spells a lot. Lanithro took a small step to the side to dodge the spell, before he muttered, "Tarantallegra!" The spell was cast, firing toward his opponent.

When the spell failed to hit, Rudolf muttered something unintelligible beneath his breath, quickly adopting a defensive stance. "Protego," he said quickly, deflecting Lanithro's spell. Without missing a beat, he launched into another attack. "Rictusempra!"

Lanithro noticed that this Gryffindor was putting up a fight. He smirked. He really liked this now. He shot up the shield spell, and cast quickly, "Stupefy!" He intended to take out this boy. If only he knew who the hell this guy was. All he knew was that there were two.

This time, when Rudolf lifted his wand and recited the shield charm's incantation, only a very weak light erupted from the tip of his wand. It wasn't nearly enough to deflect the hex, and before he could blink, his knees were on back to front. "Aah!" he cried, feeling very strange as he took a step forwards and went backwards instead. Still, he wasn't about to submit defeat. "Stupefy!" he said, aiming directly at Lanithro's chest.
