Professor Styx led the two contestants to the stage, appointing them into the north or south part of the stage. He informed them of the rules, the points, and made sure they were aware of what not to do. He instructed, "Begin."

The duel begins now. You have 24 hours to post, or face disqualification. Ensure that you use the spell list for guidance on age-appropriate spells, and read over the dueling rules and points system. If you are knocked out or otherwise disarmed/incapacitated, or if you run out of points, you will lose and the duel will end. Have fun! Be creative!

Spectators are allowed to post in this topic once per competitors post, but are forbidden from directly interfering with the duels. Duelers cannot cast spells at the spectators or face disqualification.

Violet did not know how she had won her first duel. as much as she was glad she had beat her snob of a roommate, a fact that she made clear to morrie whenever she passed her. technically she hadn't beaten her, she had won because the hot head had been so annoyed at being hit by the antler jinx she had tried to ram her and ended up getting herself disqualified.
she came today and got on the platform when it was her turn. her wand tight in her grasp. She bowerd to professor styx and to Apolline before taking her space wand raised ready for the go. as soon as it was time to go she flicked her wand and cast an expeliarmus to get the duel rolling

Apolline was feeling very eager for another round of the duelling, she wanted really badly for this to go well. She pointed her wand, but wasn't fast enough. She blocked the spell as it raised towards her and then cast, a trip jinx back.

violet was a liittle surprised when apolline sent a spell she didn't recognise. She tried to step out of the way of the spell but somehow ended up tripping over her own feet landing on her bum on the stage. the impact of the fall lessened by being glad she at least hadn't been attached bu a mystery spell. she leg lock jinx before she got up

Apolline was maybe a little surprised when her spell actually hit, she hadn't really been expecting it. It distracted her enough that she almost didn't block the spell which came her way, and then followed it with a "Furnunculus,".

Violet was back on her feet in time for her to cast a shield against the next spell. she dismissed it with a flick of her wrist before sending the jelly fingers jinx his way.

Apolline knew she'd been thinking a little too wishfully when she had hoped that the one spell hit would end the duel more quickly. Apolline dodged out of the way of the spell and then sent back the slug vomiting curse.

Violet watched as Apilline dodged her spell. She raised her wand "Prot-" she said as the spell hit her square in the chest. she douubled over as though she had been winded. her stomach churning. stupify" she said before leaning over to throw up not all to supprised that the puke was more slugs than food. and wondered which would be worse.

Apolline couldn't help but almost vomit in sympathy, as Violet did. She managed to not, and just managed to block the next spell that was cast, and she followed with, "Stupefy," back.

Violet was not going well. her stomach was revolting and as much as she was trying to keep a hold of both her spew and her dignity she could feel both of them slipping through her grasp like sind through her fingers. she didnt even care if her spell had worked or even hit its target. all of her focus was in keeping the rising taste of bile down. She could see Apolline waving her wand and as if in slow motion a spell was coming towards her. She didnt think she would be able to dodge. she could just let it hit her. or she could try and defend herself. Either way, she knew she was about to lose the duel. If she was going to go down, shewn, standing here and would not go do doing nothing. She raised her wand. "pro-bleugh she started, but the spell was interrupted by a wave of vomit and slugs as unstoppable as the tide exiting her mouth. And then the spell hit, leaving her allong with the last scraps of her dignity on her back on the floor covered in a layer of her own vomit mixed with slugs and the certainty that she would never be able to eat a jelly slug again.
