Professor Styx leads the two contestants to the stage, appointing them into the north or south part of the stage. He reveals the rules as well as the point system. He walks off the stage and orders the duel to begin, as he keeps a watchful eye.
OOCOut of Character:
All right, make sure that you use the spell list for guidance. No board rule breaking is acceptable. Have fun! I have a copy of the code that you should use with every post. Remember, when you are knocked out, unable to shoot anymore spells, you lost. And if you run out of points, you lose.
The duel begins now. If someone doesn't post after 24 hours, they are disqualified.

Avie had decided to followed Lucien and joined the duelling tournament, he was pretty excited by it too. He stood on the part of the weird stage thing that he was supposed to stand on skipping happily to the spot, taking the time to take out his wand and waving happily at his opponent, but he didn't know who was supposed to begin and so he just continued to smile brightly at Ivaylo waving happily. This was going to be as much fun as searching for rocks in the lake

Ivaylo Zhefarovich-Dolohov was the president of this dueling club, and he was matched with one of his nephews' best friend. He took his bow, before holding his wand up, while watching Avie just wave at him. Shaking his head, he knew that he would have to end this quickly. Well, why not make him suffer a bit more first. Ivaylo cast a Stinging Hex in Avie's direction. Might as well play with his toys first before destroying them.

Avie was unsure of how to protect himself and he thought long and hard about it, but as it turned out, this wasn't exactly the best to do, when the hex hit him, causing stinging but for him to also stumble backwards falling down on the ground, he didn't like the feeling of the curse, he really didn't like it. Avie got to his feet, holding out the wand in his hand, barely able to keep a hold because of this stinging, "Rictusempra" he managed to say with some clear difficulty, loudly with a falter in his voice, clearly not far from crying. It was one of about two spells Avie could remember that he could do, and the only spell he liked.

His spell was a success, but Ivaylo was bored. He threw up a Protego to guard against the spell, before he smirked. He was going to end this. "Reducto!" Ivaylo cast, putting up half his power against the boy. It was more than enough in his opinion.

Avie thought that he'd done pretty well remembering the spell that he had cast, he remembered it because it made the person laugh and Avie loved laughter, and would be a good counter to the stinging he was still feeling. He wasn't sure what else to do, and out the corner of his eyes noticed a little creature scurrying on the stage, "Oooh look, a spider!" he ducked down to look at it unaware of the spell which flew over his head and to where he had just been standing but the force of it hitting to space behind him, caused him to tumble slightly forward, he look up at Ivaylo and to the space behind him, suddenly remembering where he was, and what he was suppose to be doing, Avie got back to his feet, he was shaking a little, "Scriopea" he said, but when nothing happened he got confused, a jet of light was supposed to come out his wand, "Styyyyx, why didn't that work, I did it just like you showed us in class," not at realising that he hadn't meant that spell, he was mixing up the transfiguration spell with the stupefy spell he wanted, tears threatening even more as he felt annoyed along with the continue pain of the stinging hex.

Ivaylo could not believe his luck. He narrowed his eyes in frustration. This was getting ridiculous. Ivaylo noticed that the spell used was a little on the odd mark. It didn't do anything. Deciding to have a little fun, he cast, "Levicorpus!"

Avie had still be staring at Styx when the spell hit him again, he expected more stinging pain to add to what he was already feeling, and suddenly he was upside down, he heard several rocks fall out of his pockets and fall to the floor, and couldn't help but laugh slightly, although this wasn't that fun anymore, and he hurt a little from the stinging he wasn't enjoying this like he thought he would.

As his spell hit Avie, the boy hung upside down. This was perfect. Ivaylo saw that the stinging hex was still in process, and that Avie would not be moving. He probably didn't know how to counter this spell anyway. Ivaylo decided to end it. "Reducto!" Ivaylo spoke with power in his tone. If he didn't blast the kid into next Tuesday, then at least he would blast all the rocks from Avie anyway.

Avie found out quickly that hanging upside wasn't as fun as he'd thought it would be, it wasn't like swimming and it wasn't like flying he was just hanging and the stinging wouldn't stop, even though he thought it might and he heard the other boy say a spell, and in his predicament he realise even if he wanted to move away he couldn't he would have to rely on his magic, but as he attempted the spell, the wand slipped from his sweaty grasp and clattered to the floor, it was at this point that Avie burst into tears, he didn't like this at all, and took all his might to not cry out for Lucien or Esme to help him, but all of it abruptly stopped as an intense pain hit his body and he passed out
Action(s) Taken: Cried, hit by spell, passed out
Point Changes: +15

Kalif knew that this duel was going to end badly from the start. Avie was definitely no match for his half brother. As soon as Ivaylo hung him upside down, and Avie dropped his wand, he was ready to call the duel off, but Ivaylo wanted to have the winning shot. As soon as the other prefect passed out, Kalif announced that Ivaylo was the winner, and ordered the prefect to take Avie to the hospital wing to tend to his injuries. But nothing could heal that pride.
