Kahurangi was regretting her decision not to sign up for duels this year as she entered the chamber to proctor, but she'd twinged her shoulder at rugby a couple of weeks ago, and wasn't really feeling up to straining it more, just in case. Proctoring was fun anyway, and there'd always be a chance next year to reclaim her title. She took her place on the platform and glanced between the two opponents facing off, curious to see what the students would be bringing to the table this year. "Alright, nice clean fight from both of you, please. On my mark." She stepped back, unable to help a smile as the duelists prepared. "Begin!"

The duel begins now. You have 24 hours from this to post your first reply, or face disqualification. Once both duelists have posted, you will have 24 hours from your opponents post to reply, or be disqualified. Ensure that you use the spell list for guidance on age-appropriate spells, and read over the dueling rules and points system. Please also remember site rules apply, including power/god modding. You can find the site rules here. Duels will run until there is a winner or until 6 IRL days have passed, in which case the winner will be chosen by RNG. If you are knocked out or otherwise disarmed/incapacitated, or if you run out of points, you will lose and the duel will end. Have fun!

As an added note: Spectators are allowed to post in this topic once per competitors post, but are forbidden from directly interfering with the duels.

Morrie had spent the entire time before the duel started ignoring Osiris with her arms crossed and jaw clenched. That piece of s… abandoner who thought he could just stroll back into her life and steal her shoes didn’t deserve her attention, at least not until she was hexing him in a school sanctioned tournament. Whether or not being paired with him was a good thing or not would depend heavily on how much pain she could inflict before the match was over. When their time came, Morrie stepped up and scoffed when Professor Josephs requested a nice clean fight, that was not happening! Morrie was quick, she fired off her first spell which was the Knee-Reversing Hex. She wanted to make it perfectly clear to Osiris Vale that she wasn’t playing nice today.

Osiris Vale only signed up for the duel because he knew where Morrie would be. He stood at his end of the platform and bowed, with a smirk on his face. Oh, this was going to be so much fun. She cast the first spell, which he felt was a little childish. Oh she needed to do better than that. A quick protego blocked the hex, and he sent out the Antler jinx.

Him just being there was making Morrie furious. At least he wasn't running his mouth so that was something. "Protego!" Morrie cast before sending her next attack, one Osiris likely knew well, "Incendio!"

Ozzy might have loved the spell that she used on him, but he didn't like the idea of being lit on fire. He barely put up a Protego to block it. "You seem a little grumpy, let me fix that." Ozzy mocked as he cast the Cheering Charm toward her.

Morrie boiled with rage at being called grumpy, until the cheering charm hit her and an unwelcome lightness bloomed in her chest. It was warm like sunshine on a summer's day. Her scowl twitched and her fists loosened. Morrie tried so so hard to hold onto her rage until she giggled. "I hate you" she said, except it came out way too light and cheery and she realised she couldn't even be angry about not being angry. She prepared to send a curse his way, but she couldn't channel it right and instead sent, "Stupefy!"

Morrie could feel the Cheering effects were lessening, that or she was just angry enough to resist, especially when the trip jinx hit her and she fell over, grazing her hands in the process. "Right. That's it." She stood up looking flustered, she could feel herself about ready to explode and she channeled that into casting the most powerful Slug Vomiting Curse she could muster.

Oh she was out for blood. He had to jump to the side again, and sent out a Bedazzling hex her way. However, when he had jumped before, one of his feet landed right on the edge, and he was not exactly coordinated. He lost his balance and toppled off. He landed on his side on the floor, so while he lost, he sort of did it because he really did not want to throw up slugs. Worth it.

Morrie blocked then watched Osiris fall off the platform like an idiot. Even with the victory, Morrie continued because she wasn't done yet, "Incendio!" She cast at Osiris on the floor. She still wasn't done and was preparing to cast another spell at him.

Ozzy knew that this was over and Morrie was technically the winner, but apparently that did not stop her from not wanting to continue the duel. He managed to roll over to the side to dodge the fire. The heat was super close but he managed to get away. He leapt to his feet, pointed his wand and sent another dose of the Cheering Charm back at her. He looked to @Professor Kahurangi Josephs to see if she could stop the fourth year, "Hey, can you do something, professor?!"​

Kahurangi had had quite the eventful batch of duels to proctor this year, and she was keeping a sterner eye on the ones that seemed to have some contentious personal feelings bubbling below the surface - insults between spells were sometimes a bit of a tell. She was pleased this match had gone fairly tamely, and was moving forwards to call it when Morrie startled her by casting again, after the duel was clearly over. It was a relief that Osiris managed to dodge, and Kahurangi's hand quickly found her wand, putting up a strong shield between them to prevent any further spellcasting. "Morrie, the duel is over." She said firmly. "Casting after your opponent has been knocked out is against the rules, and you know it." She sighed, giving Osiris a once-over to make sure he wasn't visibly injured. Once she was sure neither duelist needed a nurse immediately, she called the result. "Morrie Ayre wins, and is disqualified."
