The first round of duels had been.... eventful, to say the least, and Kahurangi hoped the less rules-inclined competitors had all been weeded out by now. She still had a bit of a headache from listening to Theodore go on and on, and half hoped Oswald would be making a complaint to James about him. For now, though, she had another round of duels to proctor. Glancing between both competitors, Kahurangi stood up straight as she addressed them. "Alright, let's make this a clean match. On my mark." She stepped back, curious to see the shape this duel would take. "Begin!"

The duel begins now. You have 24 hours from this to post your first reply, or face disqualification. Once both duelists have posted, you will have 24 hours from your opponents post to reply, or be disqualified. Ensure that you use the spell list for guidance on age-appropriate spells, and read over the dueling rules and points system. Please also remember site rules apply, including power/god modding. You can find the site rules here. Duels will run until there is a winner or until 6 IRL days have passed, in which case the winner will be chosen by RNG. If you are knocked out or otherwise disarmed/incapacitated, or if you run out of points, you will lose and the duel will end. Have fun!

As an added note: Spectators are allowed to post in this topic once per competitors post, but are forbidden from directly interfering with the duels.

Sofi was proud to beat Alana but didn't quite know how she'd managed it. She was up against Ivy in round two who she gave a warm smile to as she took the platform. She bowed and cast, "Stupefy!"

Ivy was glad to get through the first round of dueling it would have been embarassing if she had lost in the first match after last years success. this time she was against Sofi, a hufflepuff she didnt know very well. She returned her smile and bowed at both her and professor Josephs. before taking her position. Sofi took the first spell and she raised her wand for a "protago before waving it again "expeliarmus"

Sofi held her wand ready but was too slow pronouncing the defensive spell. Left without another option if she wanted to stay in, she jumped out of the way of the spell. The disarming spell traveled past her and Sofi berated herself for such a terrible start. She pointed her wand at Ivy and cast the Fur growing spell next.

Ivy was glad that the girl seemed to struggle to block her spell. it looked like it was going to be a good duel. Especially as Sofi sent a fur growing spell her way. she was about to block it but then had a second thought. she wondered what it would be like to grow fur, in the seconds this thought came through her head she had ran out of time to react and she would leanr what it felt like. She felt a tingle over her skin, a sort of tickle as though there was an ant crawling on here but on everywhere all at once. she chuckled realising that the fur was ginger and curley much like her hair. "do i look like my mum now, or more like a cavoodle ?" she asked . before raising her wand and casting an antler jinx.

Sofi was shocked by the curly ginger fur that sprouted from all parts of Ivy. She blocked the Antler Jinx before answering her question, she wasn't sure who her mum was to possibly comment. "I don't know, is your mum a cat?" She asked, chuckling lightly as she did really look quite a lot like a cavoodle now she said it. "Stupefy" Sofi was getting brain fog about the spells again and decided on a safe stunning spell.

ivy chuckled at Sofi's comment. "not a cat, but a wolf occasionally" she said. she had assumed people knew who her mum was, but she figured most people didnt follow politics. She didnt either other than what her mum and dad talked about at home. she was ready for sofi's stunning spell and blocked it with a "Protago". Thinking for a moment before she cast the "jelly brain jinx" at her.

Sofi looked impressed, "Oh she.must bs an animagus then?" She was caught off guard by the next spell which hit her with surprising softness. A wobbliness overtook her mind immediately, and she blinked down at her wand. Sofi let out a confused giggle like she didn't know what it was she was holding. She felt she was supposed to be doing something with it. “Oh no,” she mumbled, then immediately forgot why she had said that.

Ivy chuckled at the girls question. was her mum an animagus. "not quite but something like that" she said shrugging.
sheh ad not expected her next spell to hit as squarely as it did. There were no obvious effects from it, just a slight loosening of her opponent's expression and stance. As she waited, the fur on her body was growing. and it was getting rather warm under all the hair. but more importantly than her body was her face. She raised her free hand to hold it out of her face, as it was certainly starting to encroach on her vision, and she wanted to see when the next spell was coming her way. however nothing came her way so she just stood there ready to either defend if a spell came to her or finish the one she had cast if professor Josephs called the duel. She wasn't going to hit someone who was unable to defend themselves.

Sofi didn't really understand why she was here or what she should be doing at this very moment. She opened her mouth to ask, but the thoughts had left before she'd fully processed anything. She turned her head toward Ivy and lifted her wand like she was going to cast something. "Fluffy,” she mumbled, staring at Ivy and giggling at her appearance, "You're all fluffy." Then she dropped her wand because holding things was far too much effort right now.
