Professor Misha Haden had been a bit surprised to be asked to help out, he didn't often, but he didn't mind it. Though of course he was feeling a little more tired than usual with the boys keeping him awake. It was nice though, they were adorable. He looked at the two students whose duel he was overseeing. "Let's keep this clean," he said, before inviting them to get started.

Out of Character:

The duel begins now. You have 24 hours from this to post your first reply, or face disqualification. Once both duelists have posted, you will have 24 hours from your opponents post to reply, or be disqualified. Ensure that you use the spell list for guidance on age-appropriate spells, and read over the dueling rules and points system. Please also remember site rules apply, including power/god modding. You can find the site rules here. Duels will run until there is a winner or until 6 IRL days have passed, in which case the winner will be chosen by RNG. If you are knocked out or otherwise disarmed/incapacitated, or if you run out of points, you will lose and the duel will end. Have fun!

Spectators are allowed to post in this topic once per competitors post, but are forbidden from directly interfering with the duels. Duelers cannot cast spells at the spectators or face disqualification.

There truly was not a good reason for Asher to start dueling. He was shopping for something extra, so he thought that this might be a good option. He stood at his end, and faced Felix. He smiled toward his dormmate, and then bowed. Asher was, at least, respectable. He took out his wand, stood in what he thought was a 'cool stance' and cast, "Stupefy!"

Felix hadn't joined the dueling tournament to hurt anyone, so much as he just wanted the opportunity to shine up on stage, and if he was lucky, be the victor of a fight for a change. He grinned at Asher, watching as he stood in a cool pose and shot his dormmate finger guns in response. Apparently Asher took that opportunity however to cast a spell first, which had Felix throwing himself to the side of the stage since he hadn't even gotten his wand out of his pocket yet. "You're playing dirty?" he asked the second year, looking up from the floor. Felix didn't take his blue eyes off the Gryffindor as he rose once more to his feet. "Locomotor Mortis" he threw back, wand finally in his hand and pointed at Asher.

Asher honestly didn't even notice that Felix did not have his wand out. "Oh, sorry, didn't even see it!" Asher did not want to put up a bad example for his siblings. He cast the shield spell and thought over what other spells he knew. He then cast, "Rictusempra!"

"Of course, of course," Felix nodded, ready for Asher's next spell this time. He blocked it with ease, and thought that it probably helped he fought with his sisters so much when it came to his defense. "Everte Statum!" The Gryffindor cast back. It would have been easier if his dormmate just froze in front of him to be honest, although perhaps it was wishful thinking.

Asher had to dodge that spell, since he was not confident that his shield would have blocked it. He nearly fell off of the platform, but before he even fixed his stance, he countered with a Petrificus Totalus.

Felix thought Asher was about to fall off the stage after dodging his spell, but no such luck. He audibly let out a groan when the Gryffindor got back to his feet, although he was still quick to block the spell that came his way. “Stupefy!”

Asher worked hard to get back to his area on the platform, but Felix was a little faster than him. Asher didn't get a chance to put up a shield, or even block. Instead, the stunning spell hit him square on the chest and the second year Gryffindor was out.

Felix hadn’t expected to actively stun Asher, and seeing it happen in the flesh was more daunting when it was successful. He looked across to Professor Haden, concern on his face for his dormate more than anything. He didn’t want to approach the boy until the professor confirmed it was over, but he did hope Asher would forgive him.

Misha watched the two duel with interest until one of the boys managed to win. "Felix Layton-King is the winner," and then approached the stunned boy to revive him.
